@sebg2086 notice that he doesn't play Yamaha pedals? Notice that other brands are on this kit? There's a lot more to the artist relationship than rigid adherence.
@@m.charron drummer can have different pedal./...cymbal....stand.....but when you have a signature snare....you should stick to it.....they pay you good money to play them
Jimmy's the GOAT. Dude has never stopped learning and growing as a musician. He was incredible straight out the gate and today he continues to get better and better. Inspirational
Worth mentioning as well that Jimmy was a major influence to me as of the age of 9 yrs old when I got the double cassette tapes of Mellon Collie and Infinite Gladys. This man's playing helped shape my own and I hold him in high regard with the likes of Bilham Cobly, and Tiny Williams.
My favorite drummers who really came of age in the 90s are: Dave Abbruzzese, Mike Portnoy, Danny Carey, Tim Alexander, and Jimmy Chamberlain (of course)!
A-ha! Jimmy has been using that crash as his ride for years now and hasn't used a ride bell (for obvious reasons) for a long time, but apparently he's come to miss one because he now has... That... Thing connected to an auxiliary pedal. Man I love the constant innovation and evolution in his mind. Always experimenting with sonics and refusing to stagnate.
What a beast of a drummer... My playing would be very different without his influence. Hat's off Ps:You can get just as professional as him but you drum riser is still going to shake a little bit...
It's really disappointing that Jimmy could not talk about his own equipment, or at least be present for the run through, it makes it look like they don't care enough to talk about it.
Personal preference, bit I can’t stand the sound of those cymbals..they sound gross ,,yeah not my deal at all..I have 2 cracked cheap ass cymbals as a stacker and they sound better
I like that he isn't afraid to use a small kit. As for the small kit trend of the last 15 years or so...I've always said that a ton of the guys using them are only doing so because they are afraid of the trend-following majority looking down on them. You know it is ridiculous when we have metal drummers using 4 piece kits, saying, 'this is all I need'. I remember when ppl started making fun of guys using 2 bass drums and everyone started using double pedals... it is foolish.
I love how the first 17 seconds are an Evans advertisement, and then in the very next shot, Jimmy is playing all Remos. 🤣
was about to comment the same thing :D
Good spot 😂
Man, I love Jimmy. Precision. Memorable. Musical. The real deal.
having a signature snare....and playing with an other brand snare is weird.......
@@sebg2086 not really.
@@m.charron if i was yamaha i would say bye bye....u know that he get pay to play yamaha right? Thats hes sponsor right

Zero wasted motion. It's a masterclass in effective technique
Jimmy's effortless face while playing the drums is just amazing

Congrats on getting Kirk Hammett as your drum tech!
Gotta love Vic's passion for gear. Endless knowledge ❤
Love that roto toms are making a comeback, super fun to see Jimmy using a set!
What an astonishing talent Jimmy has. Could listen to him all day.
Bravo MD for this awesome video showcasing a legend.
And kudos to Vic the tech. Jimmy is CLEARLY in good hands. ✌️❤️🥁
Thanks so much Modern Drummer, Jimmy and Vic for this. Love these insights. JC cool as a breeze behind the kit making it all look effortless!!!
Technical as fuck with power and dynamics . Jimmy is ridiculous

Vic sounds like a cool dude, I could listen to him talk about a drumkit all day. Props!
Vic’s Drum Shop!!! I used to go in there all the time when I was living in Chicago. What a great gig you have.
Amazing drummer! Natural

Can't stop watching this!!! Jimmy , Yamaha and Agop = Dream Team 🤘🥁❤️

Sounds awesome too. Great drumming too.

Really miss da drum shop! Travel safe!
😎👍♥️🇺🇸🇨🇦🥁🔊🎼RONN ROCKS!!!
Gotta love a tech who nerds out over the finer details of drums like we do!
Super cool!
His straight forward playing is awsome...I'm sure he can do many styles..his kit is awsome...
He's just as good as the day I first heard him in 1990
Love the roto custom rack!
DAMN! What a monster
Would love for a full list of cymbal and drum models and sizes. What a great video!
Jimmy makes it look so easy…..
What a drummer he is…
My favorite drummers who really came of age in the 90s are: Dave Abbruzzese, Mike Portnoy, Danny Carey, Tim Alexander, and Jimmy Chamberlain (of course)!
i wanna hear more about that snare!
Very much solid.
Best drum tech in the world !
What is the second song they play?
Pioneer To The Falls by interpol playing in the background of the middle section of the video.
They must be sound checking. That perked my ears up like crazy. Interpol for life.
@imcharming4808 Si senor!
What a fine head of hair you've been blessed with!....oh yeah, right, cool drums, love Jimmy Chamberlin!
victor salazar, what a guy.

I have the same symmetry of toms and cymbals and just now I saw this. Means I know little something on drums😂
I will upset a few people by saying this, Jimmy would be the only person fill the role of Neil and Look the part too.
Very different styles.
another of the greatest .........
Was that a Pumpkins song at the end or just a jam ?
Must be a cover of "Hubble Bubble (Toil and Trouble)", the Manfred Mann song
Another great Tour with a LEGEND! Also, is that Brad Wilk at the 10:02 mark? haha Doppelgänger?
wow!
9:35. Holy s**t. 🦶🏻🔥
The Neil Peart of Grunge
🔥🔥
What a beast of a drummer... My playing would be very different without his influence.
Hat's off
Ps:You can get just as professional as him but you drum riser is still going to shake a little bit...
Geek USA is in my like top 10 rock drum performances of all time
Great
Not really a fan of SP but can definitely appreciate Jimmy's groove!!!
Jimmy's groove is like 75% of the band haha
5:20 is that Interpol in the background?
I recon Pioneer To The Falls, am I right?
Don't know if Stanley Randolph is still on the Stevie Wonder tour but I would love for you guys to do an episode on his current setup
Oh fuck it opens with doomsday clock
2022 touring kit, but for 2023, shared in the year 2024
What are the ride and trash that he mainly use in this video (the right ride with that sharp cutting bell sound and the trash cymbal underneath) ?
The ride bell clang actually comes from the thing on his left, like a hi-hat made out of stripped tank parts
What is the name of that song? Please. Im a newbie about smashing pumpkings. And this man UAU! Awesome
The first one is Doomsday Clock, the second a cover
What's the song he was playing on the soundcheck?
Whats the song he's playing during soundcheck called?
I hear that Interpol in the back
Is he still using maple sticks?
Whats the last song
This is from last year.
Shame jimmy didnt show the kit himself. U did a good job explaining tho.
Hopefully they go over his istanbuls more. Last video walkthrough didn't list them off at all
Ugh okay still no
Not 1 wood chip on his carpet!....Good stuff...
You look like the bad guy from The Mummy movie
That is a PRoTECH.
I wish he would have hit that gong drum 😞
having a signature snare....and playing with an other brand snare is weird.......
Total badass, with proper ride placement, NOT low and close
Its not a ride cymbal. On the Rick Beato vid he says its a crash.
2023?? 😂
“We’re in 2023…” 🤔 🤨
70% de coisas do kit dele, sao coisas que ele nao usa em nenhuma musica do smashing pumpkins.
Jimmy definitely uses them all live!
@matthewpaluch777 eu nunca vi ele usando tudo isso
Jimmy's cymbals alone cost more then most drum kits. You're looking at $2,000 before shells and hardware. 😂
Agop cymbals
It's really disappointing that Jimmy could not talk about his own equipment, or at least be present for the run through, it makes it look like they don't care enough to talk about it.
Evans are the most overrated drum heads ever.
They have zero tone
Too much promo, not enough Jimmy
Personal preference, bit I can’t stand the sound of those cymbals..they sound gross ,,yeah not my deal at all..I have 2 cracked cheap ass cymbals as a stacker and they sound better

Too much stuff. Looks horrible and out of balance.
You be sure to tell him that next time you’re on tour with him… lol
