I'm here for the wife. I am going to surprise her with fixing her favorite foundation. THANK YOU!!!❤❤❤ Update, it worked great! She's loving it like it's new again. Thanks everyone for the likes.
My 9 year old broke my Anastasia Beverly Hills Limited Edition Moon Child Highlighter Palette and i was legit in tears. I kept it because i didnt have the heart to throw it out. I just watched your video and finally fixed it like new. Thank you girl! ❤❤
I love Alexandra, but i need to tell u that these techniques are very old and a base of everyone who uses make up. I am shocked that u threw everything away
Hey, great tutorial! One improvement suggestion: if you have parchment or wax paper you could put a piece over the surface wax-side down as you smooth the semi-dry surface it to keep from picking up/using product. Thanks again!
When I was a teenager, I dropped my blush and ruined it. I tried this hack, but it didn't work. I didn't know I had to chop up the big pieces and then press the powder back into shape. This was way before the internet, so no experts to ask, just word of mouth. I just continued to use the broken blush, but it was messy! I'm really glad for online tutorials.
I dropped my limited MAC cosmetics eyeshadow palette this morning…. And went right into DIY repair videos. Everytime some of your make-up breaks, it takes a bit of your heart with it 😅 thank you for this video!
I want to look good but I always end up looking frumpy if I am less careful and meticulous. I would like to look elegant so to say and in the holiday spirit without having to put a dress on. Minimalist yet classy even when I am just celebrating at home.
I have like no ledges on my eye lids. Like there’s no room for me to put eyeliner on the actual edge of my eyelid bc there’s so many hairs there lol. Any tips?
That's how the way I do my own eyeshadow- and face-palettes. You can mix the powders to get new colours. Or make one product out of a few rests. Or mix highlighter with matt powders or eyeshadows. Or, or, or... So you can change every powder-products you don't like into new products which will be loved by you. That's also the way you can make/mix palette-products into singles-products (you can buy litte screw-top boxes in 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 ml). So you can take your products always with you and just need a small makeup-bag. Be crative, you will love it. But: Sometimes it takes a few hours or 2-3 days until your new product is really dried (don't close your product until its really dried!). And while it dries you should press it (every time after a few hours, 4-8 times in one day).
Two things, a powdered Blush and a Bronzer. And yes this worked great. I empitied broken contents of each into individual ziploc sandwich bags to make it easier to crush. Then cleaned up the compacts really well. I put the powders back into their compacts and followed all of your mixing directions. It worked and now both products are usable again, and looks almost new. Thanks again!!
Yes!! Thank you for this! I wish this video was sooner! A couple of months ago, I had to throw out my beloved Phyisicans Formula translucent powder with tears pouring down! Now, I know for next time I can save it!
I've done this many times and it works! The first time was a pressed power that costed me $20(lot to me!). I dropped it the day after I bought it. This trick saved the day and my temper! This trick comes in handy when you're down to your last bit of power in one or more compacts too. Or if you need to mix 2 shades to get the perfect color.
YOU JUST FIXED MY ENTIRE LIFE. Just did this to a NEW and EXPENSIVE bronzer I dropped on the floor and my heart was crushed. This video made my day. The bronzer is back, alive and well now. I love you! Lol
I ordered Rare Beauty Positive Light highlighter online and I did store pick up. When I got home and opened it I soon discovered it was completely smashed:( So they apologized and said they’d send me a new one and deliver it to my home. Haven’t received it yet. They didn’t ask me to return the broken one. Sono thought I’d give this DIY for myself. Thanks for the great video. I’m about to fix it now:)
I broke one of my shadows in a Charlotte tilbury palette that was like $80 cause I stupidly brought it when traveling despite knowing it’s so delicate lol I haven’t been using it because of the mess. Plus I was sad cause it was of course the prettiest shade. THANK YOU

Just tried this last night with two loreal products and it worked so well!!! Agree with another commenter suggesting wax parchment paper. Thank you so much! 😊
I had one of the shades in a new eyeshadow pallet come broke. I don't want to go through the hassle of refunding it and getting a new one so I'm hoping I can just fix it. Right now I'm on the hunt around my house for 99.9% isopropyl alcohol. Edit: Did not find isopropyl alcohol. According to my father is barely exists. Attempting with 70% instead. Will update. Update: It worked! Good as new!
My make-up case fell on the hard floor and most of my eyeshadows got broken. I’m glad I looked this up before I tossed out my palettes that I worked so hard to be able to afford. ☺️
I LITERALLY broke my 40$ discontinued Becca Opal Highlighter 😭 this is the only high end makeup I own… classic. So I guess I was meant to come across the video 😅😉
My favorite drug store brand WetnWild blush/highlighter! I buy these in bulk and love them all! But I dropped one and it splattered blush and highlighter together😒so I simply made a new shade, a blushy highlighter!

Please show us how to fix broken lipsticks! I tried to use a lighter to melt and stick it back together and then put it in the freezer, but that didn’t work. I broke a lipstick the other day and had to put in a little jar to save it. Really makes it inconvenient to use now.
so could you use acetone instead of rubbing alcohol? since i dont have any, but i have like nail polish remover which is just like acetone? a compact mirror i have thats got a powder in it as well has shattered, and its a good on the go duo so i'd like to fix it 😭
This is probably going to sound meaner than I'm intending it, but I really preferred it when you uploaded less often but your content was really insightful and unique. You've been uploading more frequently lately but a video like this has been done to death! I watch you for beauty and style takes that I can't find anywhere else, and I think you're at your best when you're getting analytical about how to look your best with minimal effort, not making overdone life hack videos for the sake of the algorithm. Going weeks or months between videos isn't a problem when you're making great content that only you can make!
Short vidéos like this can be useful to other women who don't spend hours online and didn't see those overdone life hack videos, like myself. I didn't know about this trick and thanks to Alexandra I learned something new today. Her content is still insightful and unique because she is unique. Going months between videos is senseless for a content creator and not beneficial to subscribers. If you don't like the video, just skip it.
You probably didn’t mean it this way but I feel the need to stick up for her because some time TH-camrs don’t get treated like they are not real people with reel problems, real emotionals, or real bills. Asking her to stop doing videos “for the sake of algorithm” Is incredibly unfair because At the end of the day this is how she puts a roof over hers and her babies head. I’m sure you meant well and are. great person I just want you to understand the perspective of how things are for her it is the equivalent of if someone came to your work and asked you to take a less paying task instead because it would be more entertaining for them. I care for her dearly and I can say that she’s an amazing human and she cares so deeply for you her audience and I’m sure she’s not stopping making her regular long videos they just take time and this short for content in bewtween her big videos is really helping her out. I get where you're coming from. I think there are lots of people who will appreciate the newer shorter videos and concepts, though, and I think it's a bit unfair to assign a petty 'just for the algorithm' motive. Maybe these work better with her schedule/life changes, or maybe she's covering topics someone has requested. I'm just glad she's back.
Does can any percentage of alcohol work? Or does it have to be the highest %? I wanna make sure I do it right so I don’t mess up my favorite discontinued powder any further. Thank you! :)
Great video! You have a really relaxing and invitingly warm voice, yet very impactful! 😄🙌🏾☀️ I was just wondering, is it safe to use rubbing alcohol to restore broken powders if these products will be applied later on your skin or maybe even near your eyes? 😕🤔

To those who are commenting that they recently tossed broken products because they didn’t know it was possible to re-press powder cosmetics - I’m surprised they hadn’t heard of this technique before! This tip has been posted and posted and posted on social media for years and years. Similar to how the “use a lighter to gently melt broken lipstick to stick back together” tip has also been posted around social media for many years. I’m not one to toss out perfectly good products, so even if I wasn’t aware of this tip, I’d use my powder products in broken form. Before that however, I would have Googled “How to fix broken makeup”, as intuition would have told me that going from “broken powder bits” to “pressed powder form” doesn’t seem like a very difficult conversion. Tossing makeup would only happen if the product spilled onto carpet and was not able to be collected or if something spilled into the powder compact , making the product un-useable entirely. Hmm, there are so many beauty “hacks” out there that have been posted in endless videos, making me think that anyone who consumes any beauty TH-cam content MUST know them all backwards and forewords. However, seeing the number of people who are just learning the info in this video which, to me, is a super well-known, basic hack, is surprising.
