My Cane Corso saved my lil daughter and wife from a late night robbery while I was away doing a night shift. They were 2 men with knives, one of them ran away after seeing the dog but the second man got caught by the dog and kept him down bleeding till the police arrived. Cane Corso will forever be the champ and the hero of our family.

Mine died a few weeks back. He was still guarding the door. He never missed a beat and always reacted exactly as I needed him too without me even saying a word. He would alert me at night when people were around (in his little subtle way) during my night security patrols, and was an incredible first dog for my then 4 year old boy (he’s now 12). I’m going to pick another Corso puppy up next week. No other dog for me

One day an abandoned starving Cane Corso showed up at out gate. I live in southern Italy and this breed is a common sight around here as guard dog for country houses.
Clarkson also had leishmania but we managed to foster him back to health. He was good with our other dogs, cats and chickens. Loyal, trustworthy playful like a puppy but most of all loving. Never before have I met a dog as charismatic as him. He's unbelievably strong and stubborn, knows exactly what he wants. Before Clarkson we had burglars clipping the fence and entering the property. But since Clarkson arrived we could see them on cctv but nobody entered. He is our guardian Angel. Such an amazing breed but definitely no dog for inexperienced.

Having owned a Corso (Khaba RIP) there are not enough words that I can think of to praise Khaba enough. To own a dog who is so loving, affectionate, trustworthy and above all protective to the point of his own life. For 15yrs from his passing, he has been missed as much as any family members. Not just a dog, far more status than that. The Corso trained properly, loved respected and cared for is a loved one that is so special own. The peace of mind they bestow upon you is unmatched.

Allowing dogs with that size and strength to climb or jump on people, going for their faces whether they are being affectionate or not is a bad idea. I trained my big dog to not do that while still maintaining a loving and affectionate relationship. Total control is a must which requires consistent training. In addition, plenty of exercise and stimulation is also so important.

Get the dog some training so you won’t be disappointed when something does happen.

Allen Fields I know in most cases this Is true, but with him it wasn’t. He’s job was to protect the family & property and he knew it. As we had a cocky huge lump of a man come round to buy a truck from us. We knew him so he decided to just walk threw the side gate into our back garden. He was chased out the gate by Kane (our cane corso) and did receive a bite to hes rear.
He was just one of them dogs that would of died for he’s family no hesitation.

This dog is the singularly most terrifying-looking animal I have ever seen, kind of like a "pit bull on steroids" in appearance. Not even a full grown wolf looks as dangerous. But after I got to know a neighbor's Cane Corso, she was among the sweetest dogs I've ever known. But any bad guy would be so intimidated just by seeing this creature that it would be the best guard dog, ever. Just LOOKING at this majestic animal is frightening if you don't know it's intentions, and few would even want to know.

It has been scientifically proven that dogs prefer their owners affection to food. And speaking of "poking," my cousin used to own a HUGE Akita, the famous hunting dogs of Japan. He named it, 'Jack.' Akitas also have a large curl tail, which also exposes its rear, if you know what I mean. One day his little baby son was standing eye to ass with the gigantic dog, and when he noticed that "little pink hole," he did what most kids would do, he took his finger an decided to perform an exploratory "test jab." When he did, Jack jumped up and let out the most surprised "YELP!!! I've ever heard, and I've been laughing ever since.

Great video! The Cane Corso is a truly unique breed. Serious, goofy, needy and dramatic is how I’d describe mine lol. He’s a spoiled fur baby that thinks he’s a lap dog that weighs 5lbs (he weighs 140lbs). My dog is naturally protective and always on the alert. He’s great with people outside the home but extremely protective when strangers come to our home. Our boy has been extensively trained and he still keeps us on our toes; stubborn and strong! I wouldn’t recommend a novice dog owner getting this breed. They are loads of fun but also loads of work. Mine drools and sheds like crazy; but I wouldn’t trade him for anything!

I had my first and only Cane about twenty years ago. She was the most lovable loyal obedient and protective dog I have ever owned. These dogs should not be kept outside or in kennels as I have sadly seen, they are very loving and want to be with their family. Anyone interested in this breed make sure you make a personal visit to the breeder, they are very sensitive dogs and a disreputable breeder can do irreparable damage. Needless to say owning one of these incredible animals is a huge undertaking, not for first timers, you need to make a lifetime commitment, there are far too many of these beautiful dogs euthanized or up for adoption due to bad breeding or irresponsible owners

Bad breeding and improper training leads to aggressive animals. Cane corsos are protection dogs, NOT aggressive animals. Socialize and obedience will turn cane corsos into what they are supposed to be - GENTLE giants that protect your family. With proper training and socialization they should not be at all aggressive to even strangers, barking yes, but even that you want to train out of them -- teaching them there is a time and place for protection - they are VERY smart dogs, they can handle what you throw at them. Attacking is not when they feel like it. They will become a stereotypical bully breed when in the wrong hands of people who don't know what they are doing.

The Cane Corso is a strong, beautiful breed. I like that Animal Watch is pro animal. The reality of good animals, when trained and socialized properly, or not trained and socialized properly, can be the difference between a safe and happy animal, or one surrendered and killed because it had bad humans. And some beautiful creatures after not meant to be caged up in our home, like the fox. These episodes are always informative. @Shtoijzëvallë Autariat Well, thats another thema. Im german, but I do love the balkan history and especially the greek history.
I can see(of your name) that you are Albanian and it is known that today in Albania the propaganda is used well.
It is proven that the ancient Epirotes were greeks and spoke greek. It is not a thema to question today. You must know, that many ancient Athenians, were too proud of themselves and their democracy and laws. Thats why they often call other greek tribes "barbarians", because they had a king for example. Thoucydides was Athenian too and he did that for the same reason. Epirus is connected with the other greeks through its whole history and was important to them. Dont forget that the Dodonis temple, which was the second most important temple in ancient Greece after Delphi, was in Epirus.
To answer your other questions, you must read how ancient Epirotes were organized. They prefered to have small villages than big cities(mostly because of the landscape of Epirus with the many mountains and rivers).
As for the Albanians. Albanias are a wonder of Balkan. Through their history they proved to be brave and smart and in connection with the greek people. They never were enemies in history until today!
I call Albanians a wonder because historically its not clear were these people came from.
In history the name "albania" or "skiptar" is nowhere mentioned! We connect Albania historically with the people who lived in these lands before them(Illyrians, Thraceans and other ancient greeks). Until today this question is still not answered!
Genetists and anthropologist assume that the Albanians are descedants of Romans, ancient Greeks and Mongolian tribes).
As for the Chams. Its a "dark spot" in the Albanian history. In my opinion, they forgot where the come from and betrayed the whole Albanian people..Its a shame and you will understand that if you read their history and what they did.
First of all, the most Chams lived in Chameria together with the greek Epirotes there, for hundrets of years as friends!! Even before the Ottomans!
When the Nazis came there, they betrayed the Greeks and even many Albanians, and helped the Germans. They killed Greeks and Albanians of Chameria! When the war was over, the greeks killed many Chams and sent them away. The only reason nobody tells you that in Albania is because the albanian governments like them. They want to have influence in Epirus and since Chams claim lands there, the government uses them.
The historical truth is that they are traitors, both to the Greeks and the Albanians.
A friendly advice of me, if you Albanians and Greeks would know your history, you would be united and a power of Europe. Its a shame how your countries are today. You need to "remember"!
Moreover, I would like to tell you how sorry I am for what happened in Albanian and still is happening there right now. I hope you and your family are well.. Be strong..
