When my Ridgeback and I had moved to Cape Town and were walking along Milnerton Beach, we came across several beautiful Boerboels. One of the Boerboels was standing next to a young child and her mother at the water’s edge. I could tell that the little girl was leaning on her dog for balance. When we walked closer, the Boerboel moved slightly and I could see it was to position itself to see us better and protect. It wasn’t aggressive just watchful. My Ridgeback is highly socialized, friendly but more importantly, she’s respectful and stayed by my side. The moment I said, “Hi” and started talking to the mother, the Boerboel relaxed and our dogs smelled each other. Even though we talked for a while, the Boerboel remained attentive to the young girl. I was so impressed by the beauty, intelligence and temperament of this Boerboel.

Love your channel, my sister just picked up a rescue boerboel two days ago. As far as we know shes 83 days old now. Shes so smart. Day one, she had a proper indoor kennel that she treats properly. When shes done playing with her toys she puts them back into the kenell before she climbs in your lap to sleep for maybe 20-30 minutes.
Thank you to both of you for informing Boerboel introduction. I plan to train my own mobility assistant dog. We've had dobes for 50+ years but now looking at the numerous large mastiff breeds. Currently considering the Cane Corso, English Mastif, and Boerboel.
The owner of a resort we stayed at had a boerboel. One of the sweetest dogs I've ever seen, he'd always come running when you arrived back and loved to rest his head on your lap. He was so big he used fire wood as a toy.
I just got a boerboel/cane corso mastiff puppy she’s brindle and I can hardly wait to see what she grows into. She’s a seven week old rescue but she’s already a sweetheart. Thanks for these videos. They’re very helpful

We walk our dogs off lead and both breeds reactions were equally protective , but also very different. The Boerboel gently nudged my partner until she was the furthermost away from the perceived threat. He then kept a close eye on the group as they passed. The Ridgeback took off , crossing the road and approached them from behind and more or less herded them past us , all the while giving off a low throaty growl. Both were smart enough not to attack, just to let the group of lads know they were there and not to mess with us. Beautiful dogs!! We actually crossed the two breeds and had some very special Ridgeboel pups . Every pup had a ridge and most (especially the males for some reason ) had Boerboel features and size. Can't wait for the Ridgeback video.

This is the 1st time I've seen your video. As a grandmother of a Cane Corso who is a big baby and his paws are almost as big as the palm of my band and an AmStaff who is absolutely a Diva, I just hope one day that The LORD will BLESS my daughter and I with a Boerboel. I absolutely love the majestic appearance and the loyalty of them. Most that see my son or myself out in public with my grand fur babies are intimidated but they have such a wonderful demeanor unless they sense danger. They are very well socialized and very protective. They are also big ol' lap babies and heavy as heck. The AmStaff is just under 100lbs with beautiful markings, and the Cane Corso is a little over a yr and yet still considered to be a puppy. He passed 100lbs before we had him a yr and we got him when he was just like 8 weeks old. Nana's babies. Spoiled to no end! 🥰💞💞💞🥰
FYI, as a family in South Africa we have had two Boerboel females. They were both Alpha's. They got along beautifully with our other dogs and cats, the key is to bring them in as puppies. They both reached the age of 15. Great family dogs, great with kids, they protect their pack. VERY intelligent!! Like with all dogs, it's the people behind the dog that dictates behaviour.

My 3 1/2 yr old female is 110 pounds but fit and fast. The agility of this big breed is simply amazing, along with how loving and intelligent they are.
Our Male is 2 years old now and I wouldn't wish for any other breed. He is the most protecting, Loyal, steadfast dog I could ever wish for. He is wonderful around my small children and protects them like he protects me!
My dad got my sister and I two boerboel puppies. My baby, Bruno, was just the sweetest buddy. They were both protective of my sister and I, but well trained so they wouldn’t attack anyone. Best breed, in my opinion! I definitely want another one.
Awesome documentary as always! We have three Boerboel’s and two poms! One can never go wrong with a Boerboel, hence you have space for them to run and as an owner you must be able to know how to handle this strong willed animal. Love from 🇿🇦
What beautiful massive dogs. They are much bigger than a Cane Corso. But I hope that people understand that these are working dogs and not a dog for a city appartement. To many people want to have such protective dog races, but don't have the knowledge what these dogs need. Thank you for this very interesting video. 👍👍👍
I love my english black lab😄 He kinda look like a mini version of a corso/boerboel/mastiff 😂 I keep him fit and healty and only rawfeed. he is the best companion i could ever ask for. yeah... sorry.. i just really have to brag about him🙈 and take a look at my vids😄
Yea but whats funny is that Dogo Canario is much better sutied for a small place then Boerboel and they`re not that much different in size.. HOWEVER you can have a boerboel in a appartement thats where ppl are wrong.. Whaat they do is what counts.. If you have a appartement you can go on many trips and play outside alot then both sleeps in the appartement and use longe days outside.. However most city owners doesnt do that and then you have a problem!!
@Mr Sigma A lot depends on breeding. Corso like many other breeds have been utterly destroyed with the whole shitshow that is pedigree/show ring.If people want to see real corso go to the farms in southern italy, these are dogs bred for purpose, not to prance around for fancy ribbons and trophies.
Anneka you are a WONDERFUL human being a wonderfully brave and animal loving woman! I am absolutely loving watching you i feel so much what you are feeling you had me in laughters and tears. THANK YOU!
I have two. Zeus is 4 years and weighs in at 67 kg. Tyson is only 18 months old and he weighs 95 kg. They are everything that this video says they are. Loyal and protective to a fault. I am a woman at 64 kg (about). I walk my boys often and they never cease to amaze people who see them. They truly are stunning. Twice, housebreakers attempted to come into my home. No gory details here, but both parties went to hospital! Boerboels like to stalk. This is what they did on those two occasions. Those idiots never stood a chance. The attitude was : welcome in, but don't expect to leave intact". As I said Zeus and Tyson are very good at commands. If they weren't, well, I weigh less than them, so I can only assume I'd be given some flying lessons!😁 I am honoured to have these two beautiful boys in my life and I would imagine that other boerboel owners feel the same way!
@@pambisugar8286 the first incident I encountered was after I came out of hospital and just learning to walk again. Three males entered my property. One had a firearm. I tried to stand up but in order to keep my balance my legs have to be apart as one leg is now shorter than the other. Without hesitation Zeus pushed himself between my legs to steady me and lunged at the male with the gun. He attached himself to the intruders gun arm and held on twisting the arm every which way until the gun was dropped. Then Zeus went for his throat. The other two intruders saw what was happening and ran .... Straight into the arms of the police who had been alerted by neighborhood watch. Zeus held the gun toting twit down on the ground biting and snapping at him until I said to him :"come juicey " ... My nickname for him. Zeus came at once to my side and would not leave me. I "introduced Zeus to the police who then took over, and helped me and juicey to my chair that I had been sitting in(wheelchair). This male was taken to hospital and treated in intensive care. He lived, and he and his two sidekicks are now serving prison time. I later found out in Court that I was not their first victim, but the other victim WS shot and killed. Zeus saved my life. No shots were fired and juicey and I were not hurt, but I did take juicey to his vet. He was bruised but fine. Second incident : out in the garden (about 8months later). Walking slowly with juicey. I walk often with Zeus at my side. He's like my crutch. He matches my pace. Two men. One stayed outside of the gates and the second one came over. He broke the car window .. I presume to steal. He got the radio and GPS. I think he would take them and hand them over the gate to his accomplice, then jump back over the gate and two of them would leave. Well, he tried, but Zeus got his arm and shook him like a rag doll, shredding his arm. Neighborhood watch again called the police but the male had freed himself of Zeus and run away. He was found later at the clinic being attended to. He was arrested and placed into custody. Zeus was never trained. I have never shouted at him, or smacked him. I taught him two words " seek" and "come". Those are the two words I used on those two occasions. Zeus eats with me, sleep on my bed with me and travels with me. We are inseparable. As he has shown his absolute love and loyalty to me I give it right back to him. I got Tyson about 18 months ago as a companion for Zeus. Tyson is a gentle giant, but god help any one who attempts to come onto my property. They are both socialised and thoroughly enjoy company when I have visitors. They love squeaky toys (pink) and they have huge sense of humour. I live on a large property and when they play zoomies, I just clear the decks! When they play fight and jump up at each other, mouthing each other, I call that " clash of the titans". These dogs are majestic and I literally stand in awe of them. I how I didn't bore you with this long narrative, but I just wanted to give you an idea of what these magnificent boys are like. Any boerboel owner can read this and they will agree. Have a good day! Regards from nicky
I seen my first one in Italy and he jumped on a platform to make himself higher and i turned to look and was literally gobsmacked at the size so i approached the owner ... my mistake he give me a warning bark .. i just adored from afar
One of the last working mastiff breeds. What's so remarkable is that instinctively they set up parameters around your house, compound, farm, or you if traveling anywhere. Cross that line and they'll be trouble. Onlookers will see this sometimes and dismiss the bred for being dumb, or foolish, or too nonaggressive without realizing that they are always working and won't allow their owners out of their sight unlike so many other prey driven catch breeds that will go full steam ahead if they see even a cat or rabbit. You get boerboels for protection. And if allowed to work they'll stick to you like velcro never letting their guard down.
You hit the nail on the head , my girl is exactly like this and I did not train her to walk the perimeter of my house before retiring for the night she just starting doing it. She is also my service dog and is all around perfection to me.
These dogs are amazing, very powerful yet gentle. My first time watching and these dogs peeked my interest for sure. Thank you for the awesome and informative video.

It seems that the larger breed dogs are usually nicer dogs. I've only been bitten by two dogs, AND THEY WERE BOTH CHIHUAHUAS. I hate those little rats...
There are many certain ways why the dog will bite you one reason is too much excitements or very energetic dog which are those little ones like chihuahua
You can tell the dogs payin more attention to her because she is giving them a more attention than the owners ,because i think the owners control the attention they get by using the attention as reward and make them work more since they are working dogs which is absolutely important and encourages good behaviour

Beautiful! And your not bad yourself!
What a big baby 🤗🤗🤗
A very strong and reliable dog. Loves children if they are initially introduced to the dog during the training period. I love the boerboel.
My 3 1/2 yr old female is 110 pounds but fit and fast. The agility of this big breed is simply amazing, along with how loving and intelligent they are.
I think this is a good weight for a female. When I'm reading about 90 kilo+ males I think this are unhealthy showpigs.
I like the reactions to the first puppy when he put his nose on the electric gardening wire, beautiful majestic Mastiff
Our Male is 2 years old now and I wouldn't wish for any other breed. He is the most protecting, Loyal, steadfast dog I could ever wish for. He is wonderful around my small children and protects them like he protects me!
Yea, I love this breed. They are a friendly dog that I want, yet will protect you.i have a female lab that's to me very close to this breed. Thankyou
Love from 🇿🇦
I just got a Boerboel Cane Corso mixed breed. He’s 9 weeks old and 22 pounds. Gorgeous dog and very smart.
Please be careful.. I'm sure your dog is beautiful
I need to get one of these in the future
Omg I love them,I already have two labs but boerboel will be my next one ❤
Beautiful dogs. Thanks for sharing them with us.
What beautiful massive dogs. They are much bigger than a Cane Corso. But I hope that people understand that these are working dogs and not a dog for a city appartement. To many people want to have such protective dog races, but don't have the knowledge what these dogs need.
Thank you for this very interesting video. 👍👍👍
In France they changes the Law about dogs because some Silly people used to have them in appartements and made some kind of dog battle. So sad.

You look in your absolute element filming this. What an exceptional experience. You’ve got the best job ever!!!
a very friendly welcoming dog.. i like the black one 😍👌
Glad the old man mentioned the indigenous ppl...great job old man cruthers!!!!
Such a truly beautiful, affectionate and powerful breed!
Know a few of these too. Nice dogs. Great personality. Friendly and social simultaneously. Good guard dog 👍🏾
I just got one. It’s so adorable, always stay around me. Can’t believe such a breed can be so gentle.
Wilson has the most gorgeous coat.
They are amazing, extremely intelligent dogs with fantastic temperaments. My son has a 55 kg 9 month old Boerboel and he is such a treat!
Thank you Anneke, amazing dogs.
I've wanted a pair of these dogs for years!! So great to see them in this video!
We have a Boerboel at the doggie resort I work at. Just over a year old. Such a sweet guy.
Anneka you are a WONDERFUL human being a wonderfully brave and animal loving woman! I am absolutely loving watching you i feel so much what you are feeling you had me in laughters and tears. THANK YOU!
I love all your stuff xo your a beautiful person
I've been around massive great Danes my entire life and getting a borbel was the best thing I've done
If they weren't, well, I weigh less than them, so I can only assume I'd be given some flying lessons!😁
I am honoured to have these two beautiful boys in my life and I would imagine that other boerboel owners feel the same way!
Am I awful to want the details? I really dislike people who steal too.
Great story
This all happened in South Africa I presume?
We have had 3 boerboels and all 3 were absolutely wonderful, so good & patient with children.
These dogs are built like TANKS, gorgeous just gorgeous. What a beautiful breed, such sweethearts too, big dogs RULE
Thats the most beautiful male boerboel I have ever seen!
Such beautiful dogs ❤️
These dogs are amazing, very powerful yet gentle. My first time watching and these dogs peeked my interest for sure. Thank you for the awesome and informative video.
Beautiful dogs
stunning animals ...
Amazing video. Love it. I have a boerboel 8 months old now. :))
It takes a brave person to operate a farm in modern SA. Having dogs like these would surely provide an increased level of security.
Why is that
@@cesar-lf1jw Farmers in South Africa are at risk from violent, often brutal home invasions. Theft, murder and the r word are not uncommon.
Unfortunately burglars and thieves often poison the dogs to gain access to the home, or steal the puppies to use for dog fighting.
These dogs seem to have the SOUL of a LION..Beautiful animals!!
Thank you so much for this video. I have a year old kboerboel and he is a blessing
these friendly paws are lovely 😍
Thank you soo much for this video, I’m in Ghana and I have a Boerboel, I’ve been thinking about starting a small proper breeding program but I’ve had a lot of questions, this video answered a lot
It seems that the larger breed dogs are usually nicer dogs. I've only been bitten by two dogs, AND THEY WERE BOTH CHIHUAHUAS. I hate those little rats...
i guess pack of chihuahuas will give you nightmare
There are many certain ways why the dog will bite you one reason is too much excitements or very energetic dog which are those little ones like chihuahua
Same like short guys
Chihuahuas are rodents 😂
🤣🤣😭
You can tell the dogs payin more attention to her because she is giving them a more attention than the owners ,because i think the owners control the attention they get by using the attention as reward and make them work more since they are working dogs which is absolutely important and encourages good behaviour
God bless you🙏
U r amazing Anneka...lots of love
