opensource remote tunes are THE FUTURE! So glad you're going this way, way more options and street logs give a tuner a lot of real-world data for a better daily anyway Drag racers look at drag logs, generator technicians look at usage logs, but dynos - particularly without a variable brake and 4-hub mounts - are kinda dumb to begin with for an AWD car, since thats not normal behaviour. Looking forward to seeing more abnormal behaviour haha
Well before the COBB AP opensource was the thing to do. Not sure about remote tuning opensource, but it was forsure done on the dyno. It doesn't have all the features but does offer a way to tune your car without restrictions.
It's cool, though, because now you can keep a labtop in the passenger seat that gives you a manifold in danger warning! Just be careful with your floor pan 😂
I got accesstuner for my accessport back in 2018, before this thing where cobb neutered the AP and what a shop can do. Glad that I never updated the tuning software as I can still turn off what I want to shut off. I just recently resurrected my 2005 wrx, it sat for a while but just got in it and did the whole timing belt set, put on a VF39 and IC from a STI owned by a friend of mine, DW200 pump, FIC 1100 injectors I had sitting around waiting to go in. The engine I rebuilt a couple years ago before I parked it, it's a 2 liter from a JDM twin turbo legacy (obviously I'm running single on it) I didn't bother connecting my Wideband to run through the AP, I have it pod mounted and eyes on it and live tracing on my laptop running pass-through on the AP. Currently just tuning in the everyday drivability with e85 on my work commute, 50 miles each way. Lot of data and lots of areas I can steady hold certain speeds and loads. I get that settled and I'll start the WOT tuning.
@jonahmanansala1852 I don't have that version of Accesstuner, as far as I'm aware the pro version is what shops that tune use, I think my Accesstuner software is basically married up to my AP, which is married up to the car. But hell, I could email the map I'm currently running if your mods are same and your running e85, if your on 91-93 octane of have to make scaling adjustments for the injectors and maybe change the ramp up on the boost.
@jonahmanansala1852 The fact yours is an 05, who knows you may be able to load, I do know my software is locked to 2005 model year only. I don't have the option to select different years.
I have an 08 wrx and I have a deleted set up the only thing done to the car is exhaust and I want the cel gone but I can’t seem to do it with the cobb ap rn so I’m probably gonna switch too
I just got the ebcs installed on my 16 wrx still gotta add cattless j pipe and tvg delete. But looks like won't be able to add the tvg because of the limp mode. Have to look for a tuner.
Re: Loss of gauges. I just use an OBD dongle and Torque Pro. Tons of gauge options in Torque Pro. Works great on my Android head unit. I also found a Tactrix clone that works well with ECUFlash/RomRaider, but it may only work with pre/early Can Bus cars (I have an 04 Baja Turbo). Torque will also do logging.
If you wired the wideband to the rear o2 signal wiring you don't get a reading through romraider? Unless there's no afr reading for rear o2 on romraider I don't see why not!
I actually tried it, it was already wired in and working with the COBB AP. On romraider I tried monitoring the rear o2 and it does not show the accurate AFR readings. No idea why it wouldn't work... Im hoping to get it tuned on the COBB AP again when I'm ready to add more power!
Tactrix are dirt cheap for everything they can do. They literally have saved me thousands. " Off-road use only" those lovely little options. 😁💯👌 Other software companies are charging 200 bucks for one off the shelf tune. That's not even including your hardware. Nuts
There’s a lot you can do with open source, I been using it for a few years now, yes you can turn off codes and more but just be careful, it’s easy to mess things up
What stage do you need to worry about emission deletions? I have a catback exhaust, and want to go turbo back with a new up pipe. I’ve got a 03 bugeye, to hit a stage two tune.
As long as you keep your car carb compliant you'll be okay. Get yourself a catted GESI downpipe, I have COBB's DP. For the up pipe I believe you'll be okay to go catless. A lot of people do it to save their turbos, also 06+ subarus are all catless up pipes. If your really worried, I recommend reaching out to your turner for reassurance.
It seems like open source is the only solution all these years later. A little sorry I missed AP and all it's frivolities, but it just wasn't meant to be!
Hey, nope you should be good. If your worried about your tune and have a tactrix cable it's a good idea to make a back up of your tune. Could come in handy someday!
Well you'll need a laptop, tactirx cable, and an AFR gauge in order to do remote tuning this way. I would also only get the tactrix cable directly from tactrix. The ones on Amazon are likely fake and could brick your ECU. If you only plan on doing remote tuning once I'd probably just get it tuned on a dyno.
I'm not catless but I have a bunch of emission related mods done. But yes the car did get finished tuning and is still currently tuned using opensource.
@@zach_lush you can wire it into ecu or use a serial to usb adapter to send signal directly to your laptop and worst case scenario you can use the factory front wideband sensor that subi come with stock.
