I've been in love with your story and journey since I was a toddler. I'm now moving across the world just like you for University. I've followed you my entire life. You've completed your journey, now it's my turn. You're an inspiration to all. Rest now.
Yo this is actually such an amazing and crazy thing to me!!! I can't believe you've watched this guy since so young. That's mind blowing! I've only just watched this one cos of Reddit but then I saw this guy started 16 years ago. Mad! Good luck on your travelling experiences yourself mate
I think it should also be noted that not only did Chris manage to walk from China to his home in Germany but the madman filmed and documented the entire thing as well! He deserves every bit of praise and more!
当老雷说“I don’t know what to tell you “的时候,我也差点落泪了。一个人走在森林里,天高地广,“前不见古人,后不见来者。念天地之悠悠,读怆然而涕下”。老雷在塔上也终于哭了出来。到家的时候,老雷和雷爸爸的对话,只闻其声,不见其人,我也听不懂,但却十分动人。十六年,横穿欧亚,老雷这辈子已经值了
So many thoughts and feelings. Happy / sad. End of a journey. Melancholy about the ending of a journey and a lot of feelings / thoughts about a new beginning.. Don’t be sad about the completion, be happy about the amazing experiences you had. It’s a new exciting beginning!
I cant comprehend it. Didnt Think i would be emotional about this. I was in my apprenticeship in bookstore Retail when i got the book the longest way and now its 12 years later and im wondering where the years went. Much love mr rehage. I hope you find fullfillment in new endavours
That's so amazing! Congratulations! I remember reading your book years ago and wondering when and if you would make it back home. And now you made it! What an impressive achievement!
I'm truly honored and blessed to have been able to follow your journey here on TH-cam, particularly the blogs on your website. Thanks Chris for all of the amazing adventures, I'm kinda sad that it's over but also happy that you have finished this epic adventure and can now begin new adventures. All the best dude, hope you stay in touch.
I feel you, Chris. I cried with you on that tower. I felt all these complicated emotions in my own heart and I didn't even walk all the damn way from China with you, lol. I read your book so many years ago and watched the beard video as many have. Your journey became part of my life. When you continued from Ürümqi and then from the border of Kazakhstan I was immediately on board again, and have been ever since (although I keep being a few weeks late to the party 🙃). I have distinct memories of you looking confused at dinner or going crazy over the wrong Registan 😉 I remember being glad seeing you safe after that car accident, but also sad because you lost the Caboose. I remember watching you walk through deserts and storms, snow and the scorching sun. Alongside loud and crowded roads or through quiet forests in the rain. Just you and the caboose, sometimes followed by dogs (nice or not so nice) or interested kids (mostly nice). The little friends back in China even made you some flowers for your hair. I'm gonna miss all that and I can't begin to imagine what it must be like for you. Thank you, Chris, for every step on The Longest Way. And for taking us with you. Looking forward to hearing from you and reading your book, if you decide to write a follow-up :)
You made it, congrats! Started watching this channel around the 4k mark or something. Then met you personally on your tour with Explora, great fun that. Congratulations on your achievement, well deserved!
Oh so awesome Chris! - those tears are mine too, a bit of joy mixed with sorrow. You did it! You did it. This journey may be done, but there are more to come, I am sure, because life is just that. I've watched you over the years off and on, and I am honored to see you make it home.
What an end to an incredible adventure. Hopefully you've taken this past month for some well deserved rest - I can't even imagine the full depth of emotions you were feeling at that moment. Thank you, Chris, for sharing your journey with us.
Congratulations! It has for years since I tried to follow up with you and impressed your spirit to continue your journey. Even sometimes worry if you can insist on completing it or giving it up some days. Congratulations! Amazing journey!
Omg. To see this video - and I know it was not on time, up to date is making me… I don’t know, the moment where you cry is very sentimental and I do understand, I mean a little bit. What was going inside of you.. But the craziest thing is the German welcome! Like you have been away for one or two days !? Oh Mann oh Mann … it was a pleasure to read your book , and it was also a pleasure to travel with you for such a long time…unbelievable! Congratulations, respect and peace !
You did it! An absolutely monumental performance! These videos were the one thing that I really looked forward to every day. Thank you for bringing a little bit of light into this world. Now I'm going to have to watch reruns of Chris on the longest way. I can't believe its over. Wow.
Thank you for sharing this with us Chris. We’ve walked with you through those jungles, cities, roadsides and sometimes inhospitable countries . Your sense of adventure and strength of character has inspired us to explore new places. I wish you all the best in your next chapter. I wish you health and happiness ❤
Wow, your videos and journey are wonderful to see! I also enjoy your commentary in the videos. It's really impressive. Thank you for sharing with the world!
I felt like i have to write a comment. I am so glad you were able to finish this task. And those tears, i felt them the overwhelming feeling, when you know you finished your journey. Chris your original video back then, several years ago left a huge impression on me. As i grew up on most of that walks, trails, journey's i took part on i knew there was someone who even dares to walk all the way from china. So glad and thankful. Good you made it. Bigup.
THANK YOU ! for sharing all this, and for so long. I think you can't imagine how much influence you had on my life and probably on other's too. thank you. I will miss a lot your "let's walk" rambling videos. I really hope you'll give some news from times to times. But now I'm waiting for the "weird beard growing video V2" ! Merci mec, du fond du coeur ! Tu es le meilleur !
What a journey it has been! I remember about 5 years ago, when you were in Georgia showing your progress on a map and wishing you good luck into Europe and now you're finally home! Thank you for sharing your journey
Thanks Chris. It's also quite a strange journey from my side of the computer too. You've helped me learn Chinese, I've followed the videos and your blog on and off. At times in fascination, at times in empathy, and yes, at times in frustration (mainly at the bombastic rantings against car drivers and perhaps some other topics too...hahaha). It's an epic adventure and also a deeply personal human story and I thank you for sharing it. 赞
Man, only half way through, gonna finish the rest after work. I started watching you many years ago. You are a big reason I set forth on many of my own journeys. My soul has evolved so much since I first found your videos. So much more stillness and peace now. Words can't be found at the end of these experiences. I think that's the way it should be. Stillness . . . Peace. 🤘❤🕑
Chris...ur emotional burst was very natural...when u touched your soil..u also made us cry...such an interesting moment...which was a picture perfect moment my friend
Liked and commented! Trying as always... Posted on your blog a few weeks ago but unreal to imagine, I've been following you nearly a decade, the blog, pictures etc, despite all the setbacks you made it, incredible, and great choice of music along the way. Hopefully you'll release a book in English next time, I'd buy it day one! Incredible achievement, thank you. Edit: No one will see this but just re watched TLW 2.0, so emotional, I miss China, forget the politics, just the people.
I've been a part of your adventure for so long. It's awesome and strange to see this part ended. I hope you continue to make update videos or blogs once a week maybe. Don't want to lose contact with my favorite crazy cousin!
Insane! Just found this. Saw your tears and fehlt them. There ist nothing like home or the way back. Have to watch your journey now! Thank you for sharing your story :D
Walking through the tunnel was cool. It made me think that the light is bright at the end of the tunnel / journey. It also felt symbolic of the transition from previous journey to the new journey! Congratulations! P.S. On the tower, I was crying with you from 🇨🇦

In some parts of Germany people even when really enjoy a moment or their family are seeming to be comparatively cool or unfriendly compared to other nations. I have been on a similar journey. For 10 years until now. I am also from Germany, currently in Malaysia. Only a very few will actually understand what it feels like when a "never-ending journey" comes to an actual end.
If you don't mind me asking: how do you fund such things? I am at a bit of a one way road at this point in my life and am seeking ways to find a new endevour, at least for some time. But I am afraid of the funding. I have savings, just worrying that they might last long enough and I am going to end up completely lost.
