As an optometrist, the amount of people saying things like "Oh, I can still see well, I don't need glasses" and then they have like -1,50 or more on both eyes is baffling. my mother worked as an accountant for an essential oil company. they would give oils and shit as prized or whatever, and she now believes that they can cure anything. its been years and she still believes it. its so wild how she believes random stuff on facebook from "doctors", but if u show her any real studies she says that "u cant believe everything on the internet"
My mother still believes a lot of that stuff despite me being pretty clear that it does pretty much nothing. Like I won't lie some of the oils do have an effect, but it's not a "magic healing remedy" like they want you to believe. Most of the "effect" is just stuff like oregano oil being...y'know, oregano, and peppermint just being peppermint. It is a stronger extract but you can get something much cheaper that just does the same thing, like peppermint oil is used for soreness but you can just use peppermint lotion that has much more use at far less cost. They aren't "lost natural remedies", we just use it in different ways and don't overprice an extract that nobody actually needs.
My Bio teacher used to do this practice with us where we look at a distant object for 5-10 seconds and then at a close object for 5-10 seconds to "train" our eyes and so they remain flexible. Not sure if it helped, but it at least made some sense because your eyes do actually need to flex (in some way that I dont recall) to swap between big distances.
I accidentally broke my glasses last year and I was stuck without glasses for like a month and a half while I scrambled to get new ones Genuinely couldn't do a thing the whole time because I couldn't see past 2 feet in front of me Who knew all I needed to do was yoga my eyes and reconstruct my spirit

My optometrist said I’m like 4 stages past legally blind. I wish I would’ve found this sooner. I could’ve gone my entire life not needing these ridiculous fishbowls on my face
As someone with mildly poor eyesight (enough for me to fail the driving eye test in NZ), I never understood why I couldn't read what was on the board from the back of the class, or identify people from a distance; until I failed my driving eye exam and got glasses. The amazement I felt when the optometrist asked me look across the carpark at a red sign with writing on it and read it to him, I couldn't even identify the sign let alone read what was on it, then he gave me my new glasses and asked again.... WOW
I love that her presentation is not (like everyone does it) capturing your screen with softwear then overlaying your greenscreen. its FILMING your laptop (which reflects the whole time and she should see that) and overlaying her mug in the middle so you see even less.

This is so funny to me because I’ve needed glasses my whole life but never wore them until I was 8 because I didn’t like how they looked. Eventually I had to because my vision was deteriorating so quickly that doctors thought I had glaucoma. Guess I wasn’t believing hard enough
I lost my black glasses on my black couch, and was basically useless for five hours until my daughter found them 😆 Gosh, why didn’t I just believe in myself more and just will myself to see?? I’m such a fool!
I wore glasses for 30 years before having lasik surgery. It's still one of the few disabilities that society deems okay to make fun of. I still remember people using the term 4-eyes at me well into my 30s...
I got lucky when I was a kid, my mother, father, and 3 sisters all wear glasses. I'm the only one who doesn't and while I don't have 20/20 I can still read/drive without assistance. They started me wearing them like everyone else but eventually I just stopped because the only noticeable difference when I put them on was everything looking the tiniest bit bigger which imo is not worth the hassle of wearing glasses. And apparently my eyesight has gotten a bit better over time so win win all around.
Funnily enough as a kid I was told I needed glasses by an optometrist. I fought with my mom for a year that every time I wore the glasses it gave me a headache, but she insisted I wear them. Eventually went to another optometrist and he was flabbergasted as to why I had bifocals my eyesight was near perfect. 20 years later I am still glasses free and have great eyesight. Other optometrist was a scammer just trying to sell prescription lenses to kids.
After seeing this i took off my glasses, and started reaffirming that i didnt need them, i then stepped on my glass and stubbed my toe because i couldnt see
I was having tension headaches for over 15 years of my life. I thought it was just normal. Then I got glasses cause they told me I had astigmatism. After that I never had a headache again. My eyes were straining so hard to focus light into my eye it was giving me headaches. You can't fake that.
idk i tried the whole "believe you don't need glasses" thing back in 2nd grade, somehow i still couldn't see the chalkboard no matter how hard i squinted
There ARE genuine eye exercises for things like amblyopia & strabismus to strengthen the muscles if the muscles have not been weakened past a certain point (which is when surgery is required & exercises will not help). I've been given a few by my optometrist. I haven't done them anywhere near consistently enough to know if they work, but since there are literally peer reviewed studies on it, I'm gonna take a stab & say they work lol.
8:52 essential oils treat symptoms not the infection itself. it’s best benefit is if you have a respiratory illness as it does help clear up the airways and nose but it is not a cure all snake oil like some people seem to think.
The fact that doTerra, an infamous MLM that's been sued at least a dozen times over false healing claims was like "Ay yo. This bitch lyin'!" Is all you need to know about this situation.
First time I noticed i needed glasses was when I raised my hand in school to ask to sit further to the board because I couldn't read what was on it. I got laughed at and sent home. Priceless.
“You’ll be able to see through people’s clothes” 😂😂😂😂 What saddens me the most about this is.. This is taking advantage of some of the most vulnerable folks. The folks who genuinely have super bad eye sight and they may be given *hope* or may have their hope fuelled… It’s sad. We may never know what it’s like for those with genuine irreparable vision loss and they may be clinging to anything to get the sight back or to be able to see maybe for the first time. I’ve heard some folks who aren’t born with a sense, that’s the life they know therefore in some cases they live like they don’t mind because their other senses are compensating. But damn. It’s just someone hopeful is such a precious thing. To just rip that away is cruel.
Honestly, with social media brain rot... not exactly a stretch of the imagination to think that. I think I thought the same thing near the beginning of the video.

No, she's literally saying they "don't want to see badly enough". It's just another bullshit take on "manifestations" and "well-wish fulfillment". You remember the people who would sell "manifestation courses" to show people how they can manifest things like money and love, and it basically all boiled down to "you just have to picture it in your head and want it badly enough?" Well, I mean they still exist they're just not as prominent as they were ten years ago. She's doing the same thing here... with an added twist of it also being a lead in to a pyramid marketing scheme. I will say this though, she did manage to do one thing that impressed me. She basically got people to pay to watch an advertisement.
My mom was like this. My younger brother was born with bad eyesight like my uncle, and my mom constantly had the idea that the doctors were "tricking her" and never got a prescription. Eventually when he got to school, he had trouble reading the board and participating in class to the point where the teachers almost called CPS over it, which finally pushed my mom into getting him glasses. He never goes without them now.

I needed to wear glasses all of my life. I'm almost 40 years old and I did just pay $4,000 to get Lasik eye surgery. They shot science lasers into my eyes and now I can see perfectly without glasses. It really is a miracle of modern-day science
My only fear with getting Lasik eye surgery done is that it's not a guarantee, and it can actually potentially fuck up your eyes even worse then what they were before, if not outright blind you in both of those eyes or the one that they worked on or whatever the case.... that's the only thing that is keeping me from getting that done outside of the cost

This is the part about her claim that's so frustrating.
That she thinks you're being "tricked" into the "need" for glasses.
Like, bitch, no one told me I needed glasses - I couldn't read street signs when riding passenger in the car to middle school and I self-reported that I can't see shit, and other people seem to be able to. I literally teared up when I put on the first pair of prescription glasses I was given because they allowed me to actually SEE the world around me, it was so intense of a feeling I can still remember the exact moment in time so clearly, I doubt I'll ever forget it. It was like flipping a light switch, immutable improvement to a degree I didn't realize possible.

my mother worked as an accountant for an essential oil company. they would give oils and shit as prized or whatever, and she now believes that they can cure anything. its been years and she still believes it. its so wild how she believes random stuff on facebook from "doctors", but if u show her any real studies she says that "u cant believe everything on the internet"
the irony

I lost my black glasses on my black couch, and was basically useless for five hours until my daughter found them 😆
Gosh, why didn’t I just believe in myself more and just will myself to see??

What saddens me the most about this is..
This is taking advantage of some of the most vulnerable folks.

It’s sad.
