Love a medium high topper. I have a few passenger, and a few ambos. The stainless access bars at side door are nice. I save those when one departs my place. Source some hindged side and rear windows at a scrap yard.
This was perfect timing! I have the same type of van with the metal cage and I was trying to figure out what to do with it. After seeing yours I think I might just leave it open! Also love the setup overall
The bed was built on an 80/20 aluminum frame, folding up/down. We don’t have a video of it in action, but more pictures of this van are available on our Facebook page that might give you some more guidance.
We have the exact same van :D Mine's a 1997, but SO much is the same as far as the layout goes. Not finished with this though, but you had an idea that's been on my mind, so I wanted to ask.. The dog platform for the passenger seat, how did you go about making sure it was stable? I have a German Shepherd/Lab/Husky mix, and he'll definitely need that space once we're on the road. Thanks! Great build, too!
Stability is needed with our big dogs! Ours happens to be a shepherd/husky cross too. The back of the platform rested on the back of the seat, then the other three sides were full length to the floor, fitting exactly into the shape of the floor to avoid instability. The seat also had to be in a specific position to ensure the appropriate fit. No pressure is placed on the center of the seat, which comes in handy when trying to avoid an airbag being turned on.
What a great build!!! For the black frame was that to add structure/ rigidity for mounting everything else? And did you fabricate it yourself or find a shop. Either way this is hands down my favorite build out style!!!!
A van, a dog and… a motorcycle! 👍😎💪
One of the best van I’ve seen.👍
Nice build. I like the 80/20 aluminum + nicely finished plywood cabinet construction scheme.
Nice utilization of space... One of the coolest passenger van conversions that I have seen!
Wow! That is a lot of hard work. Great job...looks nice.

That looks like exactly what I am envisioning for my 96 Ford van. I would really like to see how you set up the folding bed.

Not a common setup you find in vans but it worked great for us!
