    You might add a folding cutting board that folds up against the electrical area to avoid splashes. The backside of the cutting board could be a mirror to open the space up even more. So electronics covered = mirror showing, electronics not covered = cutting board down in use.

      @@drawersystems I wondered if it was a bed liner paint. There is another one called Durabak which is more flexible as its a Polyurethane with a longer working time, very flexible so it won't chip off with vibrations, and no sprayer needed, goes on with mohair roller brush. It uses Xylene as a reducer/ solvent/ prep. Only issue is that it comes in standard colors not tint-able with auto tints. I think these bedliner paints are wonderful for hardness and rough usage, they don't chip or scratch easily. Looks really great on your cabinets!

    • @drawersystems
      @drawersystems  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There was no issue at all with weight. Since this was originally a passenger van, I removed 3 rows of seats which I’m 99% positive weighed more than everything I built and installed. I’m also pretty sure the E350 has a beefier suspension than a 150 or 250. Anyone else know for sure? Either way, no squat and no drive difference once I finished everything up. 😊

    Really nice build, video and description. You probably discovered by now (as did almost every e-series owner) - heat only comes out in the lower vents on the drivers side floor and air conditioning only comes out in those ceiling vents. It actually works pretty good like that since heat rises and cool air sinks.

    👍Terrific. Thanks for sharing. 💝
    While I do LOVE the bar idea....I wonder if policing officers would have an issue with the bar and opened alcohol in the vehicle.😩

    • @drawersystems
      @drawersystems  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The bar is definitely designed to only be used at camp and I am highly against drinking and driving. With that said, as long as you aren't drinking and driving, it should not be a problem. The bar is not accessible (can't reach it) by either the driver or passenger from the front seats.

    I have watched many conversion videos and this is by far the best thought out. I like that the sink is near the door for ease of filling/emptying. Most have it on the other side of the van. This makes much more sense! Swivel captain's chair was also genius.

      Wow, you know nothing about the economy.
      "the vast majority of people out there do not have the skills or tools to build a van of this caliber"
      No one does. Until they learn... via apprenticeship, TH-cam, etc. This was also unrelated to the argument as we're commenting on what Dave said, not the OP. You're merely attempting to deflect because you're incorrect.
      "I've created similar vans. Total cost, not including van, would be roughly $6,000 unless you spent frugally and repurposed materials."
      He literally said "I've created", meaning he did the labor, and "Not including van", meaning not including the van price. Which would mean 6k for the build.
      I love the internet and the pseudointellectuals embarrassing themselves again and again. Please, keep at it. I'm enjoying this.

    This is like walking into Dr Who's spaceship. Telephone booth stealth look outside but wow factor inside!
    6:25 & 13:00 - Is that bedliner paint like Durabak on the kitchen cabinet? Looks very nice textured like that.
    Superb layout and execution. Clean, functional, love that bank of drawers, and even a toilet! Bravo!
    I'd add a magnetic cover to that little bar though. This is still considered a vehicle not RV and you have open bottles of alcohol visible to the public! Also not good to get hot sun on your wines. Insulated fabric sleeve with Reflectix inside, with strong donut magnets sewn in on edges, and metal strips on all sides of that bar face.

    Nice cabinetry and wiring. I don't know how many of these I've watched and the wiring is a cluster with no breakers or fuses. They use wiring nuts for connectors (gasp). If that stuff isn't secure it's all going to come undone as they bounce and vibrate down the road. Something can ground out and a fire can easily start. Well done on yours!
