I am a zyra main, i actually prefer electrocute with her, a spell plant and auto or multiple plants will proc it. irelia is one of the most dumb matchups, i dont know why they give the plants a multi hit life when she can still one shot them. Manaflow normally only gives me like 2-300 mana back in a game once you get your mythic you dont need it. She can actually go lots of different tree options depending on the match up.
Yeah but vs Irealia poke runes are better you won't onetap her with electrocute and your plant autos reduce your comet cooldown. Dark harvest is also fun if you're in a good matchup like sylas or other short range/melee mages
I would argue that Comet is her best rune. The plants reduce the cooldown based on the single target rate of 20% and you can trigger it multiple times in a single fight. It gets pretty ridiculous.
I used to run Zyra mid in Season 11 - it absolutely wrecked. When they added her plant regenerate passive in the Jungle, it could also be played Jungle surprisingly effectively. Glad to see this
3 seed charges sounds really strong tbh. She's already able to oneshot anyone who isn't tanky enough (even fighters and bruiser in some cases) with her full combo as support. It would be nice to not have to max plants second as support though. Also, Anathema's is a neat item on her, since the plants themselves do a lot of her damage through burn effects rather than their ap scalings.

Definitely a match I could learn from, next time facing her I'll try out the rune page. 12:48 I want to correct a few things you said there, hope you don't mind. Turrets always oneshot plants, doesn't matter if you ult them or not. In this case you tanked the turret, but you can see after you left the turret, the full HP plant got oneshotted by the turret. Then Zyras ult doesn't boost the attackspeed of plant, it increases their damage by 50%. You also said 1 plant deals 90 damage and the second one aswell. Unfortunately this isn't true, in fact the first plant only deals 100% of the damage, every additional plant only deals 50%, so in this case 90 + 45 dmg.

As a zyra main mid, I'm happy to find video like these. Also, you can cast two W during the Q and E animation so the plants spawn without the enemy expecting them. It is so useful and fun to keep liandry uptime. Keeping the poke is so important i max E W and Q

Seraphs embrace is high key broken right now but makes zyra virtually unkillable. Relieves some early game mama issues from spam chip damage imo feels really good

I personally take tear first when is a lane I can't play much like malzahar or sum like that, but if it comes Yasuo or Yone I personally go corrupted potion or the ring, depends also much on your playstyle tho, but if u want u can start tear but have in mind u won't have as much dmg to be trading until u get some ap
You can 2 men baron as soon as you have 2 items (also as support with ice shard): you go in the pit slightly earlier , here you put 4 to 8 seeds , Q into ult , you will melt baron or drake very fast . Also the plants can tank 3 attacks from drake meaning your jungler will take 0 damage from it if you alternate plants and put it in a closer range than it jungler .
One of the best ways I've found to use the cs seed Regen is to use it to always keep a seed at your feet. Then if you get ganked, dove, or need to block a high prio skill shot, you hit your e key and you immediately have a slow plant to body block and cc for you

I feel like in my experience for Zyra mid, my damage isn't nearly as consistently good as someone like Lux or Brand, as its probably due to her reliance on her Plants to do said damage. This makes me feel like I am more dependent on my team to fight against people, at least in comparison to other similar champs.
Zyra more of a control mage you don't do damage unless the enemy walk into your seed set up. If you try to poke with your ability she does very little. Mostly you pick her to counter enemy pick but I also don't know who he counter exactly 😂 Want to play control mage there's better option like Victor Azir Ori Even Liss is better at this job. Zyra problem is that she need set up to do anything. Riot run into problem of champions doing the exact same job so why would people pick a champion that need more set up over champion who plug and go
I literally picked her like two days ago thinking "This must be fun, right?" and I won 2 difficult lanes with her, and then made insane damage through those games. It was so much fun, and I'm planning on playing her more. Then you uploaded this vid, which means this is the perfect moment.
Just fyi, if multiple plants attack the same target, every plant beyond the first only deals half damage. So in situations like when you caught Vayne under tower, it's not 90 times 2, it's 90 and 45. It didn't change much in said situation, but it can be important to keep in mind when trying to estimate the damage you will do.
Fun idea for a Zyra change: passive seeds spawn closer to enemies and if Zyra steps on a seed pod she can store it for an extra W charge, that way she has to risk stepping up for it

Issue with extra seeds is that the plants do more than the e so you would max is second. Gp doesn’t do it cause only 1 barrel can hurt a person but if 2 could you’d definitely do it second also
5:55 - I think you didn't get the plate gold due to range. You still have to be within a certain range, I believe. It's the same reason that you can't hit the tower as the plate is about to be destroyed and then base - you won't get the plate gold. 12:21 - You got that tower plate... and I think you were farther away than the other one. New theory - you didn't get the first plate's gold because it's like an assist - it had been too long since you last hit the tower.
it looks like he was too far away for the first one, the second one was actually closer. it's 1200 range if you didn't hit tower and only up to 2500 range if you did hit tower. you can see it if you visualize the range circular to turret point
The Irelia should definitely have been dead at the end of that skirmish in the top lane. Knock her up with ultimate and place plants on top of it. If she doesn't have flash, there should be no way she survives. BTW your W is a great tool for vision place it in bushes, if someone steps on them you get true sight on them for a short time. Zhonya's can be good on her, but Rylai's is great as well. The slows help a lot to kite enemies and to do even more damage, because they don't get away quick enough from the plants. As she does a lot of DOT, Morello ain't bad either if no one else has grievous wounds on your team. If you are against squshies, Luden's + Lich Bane + Rabadon's is fun to play as well.
Im a zyra mid otp , not high elo though , but you can stomp almost every champ in mid , unless xerath or irelia are your matchup , but thats the thing i still dont get why she gets played in support her whole kit is made for mid and not support , she has insand wave clear , dps , and high burst , just again a mage that doesent belong in support
I think she's not meta in mid for the same reason Brand isn't, both are immobile mages that can't walk into the jungle safely. Other immobile mages like Xerath, Vel'Koz and Lux have this same weakness, but they make up for it with their range
bc for 2 seasons or so she was really weak mid compared to other champions? I remember how I got sad after seeing her only is sup section. Also as for me, she is a good sup, tho can solo carry bot lane
shes not played mid cus realistically she has bad matchups against any assassin and mage that outranges her. and youre also quite literally asking to die if you sidelane as her. her only strength is that like heimer she can sometimes turn around ganks in her favor if you have a few seeds laying around and the enemy jgler is rly squishy champ
i think the prob with riot not buffing zyra w like gp is that she can be a mage but also a support. Buffed W is ok with being a damage dealer but hard to balance as a support due to her very powerful vision control
The problem with giving her W 3 seeds instead of 2 is 2 fold - 1) When does she get the 3rd seed? 2) Her passive already spawns free seeds (like Illaoi tentacles). So they'd have to give her a new passive or she'd be way too strong with her plants.
i think they stealthly added that zyra W change very recently bc I played zyra mid and never got seeds off of last hits but i play her in season 13 and i was getting infinite seeds. its a good change and definitely makes zyra mid more playable.
Nope. It's been there for at least a season or two, maybe more. I split my team between support and mid with her and it's just strong. She plays really well into a lot of the spookier melee match ups while not losing anything against the longer ranged ones. Irelia will ruin your day though with that goofy Q reset (unless you're Pekin). EDIT: So I just checked out of curiosity. W's cooldown refund has been in place since her rework....six years ago. Also learned the slow from her E plants stacks up to 2 times and all plants do 150% damage to non-epic monsters.

Zyra, Brand, Vel'Koz, and Xerath all got relegated to support because of their lack of safety in a solo lane. It sucks because those 4 champs are really cool

In an era of hyper mobility and resetting, I find that playing Zyra requires extra care. Its refreshing to see a high elo perspective on her.

She was trash before the Seed change to W. Basically unplayable. And I haven't played her since then so there was a time she was very very bad mid

Whatever" and in fact he did not "just" hit the turret he hit it 10 secs before the plate went down and farmed the wave instead of doing it the other way around (6 secs is the "cooldown" for the assist)

hey Pekin ive watched few of your videos you seem entertaining but ive noticed most of the videos ive watched is complete stomp. It's just not very entertaining to watch how you 20-0 games with no fighting back whatsoever. You explaining how you mechanically outplayed 0-5 irelia just doesnt make sense, you walk up and press buttons - she dies regardless.
