It was an honor to work with you! All the VAs did so well here 🥺💜
Glad to see you back in action!!
I wish now that we had the Option to recruit Durge as Sorcerer on an Tav Playthrough instead of him just ending up dead in the Temple of Bhaal
The irony is not lost on me that they say "We could use a set of strong arms" and this is the Sorcerer Durge, which normally starts with a strength of 8
But look at him, he looks like he could crush skulls with his bare hands(and knowing him he probally did that)
Do not be fooled. I played a Durge sorcerer but respecced to a paladin but kept the robe anyways because it looks cool XD
Sorcerer surge still stabs alfira over and over and over lol
@@inkheart4866 That robe does look sick
Durge: "it sounds to me that this spellcasters should workout more"
“I’m…”
(He realizes that ‘THE DARK URGE’ is not a name people have, and will cast heavy suspicion onto his activities)
“You can call me… ‘Durge’”
Oh, please... like "Shadowheart is any better.
I'd go with calling him Keel, because it sounds like "kill" even though it's leek spelled backwards, & is a pun for kale, It just sounded very fitting because of what the durge does a lot of, unaliving! XD
Tav: "Oh... like the funeral music! Your family must have been real cheerful people!"
Durge: "Uh... yeah."
@@rpghorrorstoriesClever
Apparently people have also called him “Gary” due to some of the narrator’s bloopers.
Because of that, I personally named mine Garion.
i would PAY to have companion dark urge
sadly, if you play as any character that is not durge, you can find his corpse somewhere in the temple of bhall area. orin just kills durge before the game starts if you don't play as him
@@laglappen3012 yeah it's a wasted opportunity in my opinion, like I can see a scenario where as you grow your illiquid powers you can delve into durges fractured mind an see all he has done as a sort of dream scape type deal and depending on how you have treated him it'll help in freeing him of bhaal
Would give me a reason to play as Tav.
Then pay with your blood !
maybe once we got modding tools this could be a possibility
It would be really interesting if durge was an npc you coud invite. Imagine trying to convince him down the good path or indulge him in the darkness. Shit might be hype
I mean, that is kind of what multiplayer is... if by "indulge him in the darkness", you mean "urge them to pick the most insane choices for the evulz"
Would honestly be interested in a DLC or something like that to add the option. We could use some race variety in camp.
@@parleyeon7951for the evulz or for the lolz? If it’s multiplayer it’s probably the latter lol
Sadly I believe as a regular tab he’s killed in the Baal temple
Wait for when Larian releases the mod tools, I am sure a modder would love to make that.
Tav: "What sort of name is 'Durge', out of curiousity?"
Durge: "You know, the funeral music."
Tav: "That's spelled with an 'i', not a 'u'."
Durge: "Well, that's how I spell my name."
Wyll: "Checks out."
A blue tiefling? Jester, is that you? Why are you a monk?
"Well, you see, healing is such a pain! I want to try punching things like Beau!"
She took lessons from Beau.
@@thescowl6971 but at what cost? HER CUTE ACCENT?!
Because Beau taught her some monk shit.
@@kumonoameaidope* monk shit.
The main difference between the two is that Tav lets the intrusive thoughts win while Durge desperately fights his
I like that durge has manners and speaks like he just came from shakespear really fits what we hear from his introduction also showing he was clearly a well mannered person before his urges toke over
If Durge was a companion, he'd probably outshine most of the others with his story line. But, he would be incredibly cool to have.
If only Durge were a full character in game, like if you play as Tav or another origin, they appear as the default dragonborn sorcerer. I feel like it'd be the type of character that could pull off being comedically / ironically edgy, as well as lovably creepy in a classic Beetlejuice or Adams family kind of way. Maybe something like a darker Jack Skellington vibe?
Also, let em be good OR bad, resisting their urges or giving into them depending on your character's own overall standing.
Not to mention. Can say if you're trying to make em good but you also treat em poorly they'll just give in anyways.
He is.... as a corpse. So, like incase ya didn't know.
BG3's canonical prequel to the start of gameplay, is that the "Create-a-characters" Tav and Durge are reliant on the player to survive.
Ergo, if you don't play as them, they're dead. Durge, is of course killed by Orin, while Tav is actually killed by Durge.
Essentially saying, Tav and Durge are strictly a fanon interaction :D
@@Prince_Smugarina I get that. I know that they do technically exist independent of the player, and are also just dead if not chosen. But I also like to hypothesize about how they might be characterized if they weren't.
@@timelordacaelus5959 I fear, he'd be more than a little creepy, but also insanely impossible to properly characterize, hence his position as a CAC. As an amnesiac he's a blank slate. But we learn he's the most calculating and cunning individual in the Forgotten Realms. I mean, the entire plot of the game that is to say the BBEG's plot was all concocted by HIM.
In other words. Any thought you have is as good as anyone elses. Mine is that, amnesiac or not, he'd be far more in the know than Gale, and even but heads.... if there is something more than a hand available. He'd also prove frighteningly capable at dealing critical hits(ergo, attacking the weakest parts of his enemies) due to his background as what essentially entails him to be the Forgotten Realms "Jack the Ripper"
Which is why, instead of the fanon Durge name I'd call him Jack >:3
I’m playing basically a Dark Urge in my own Descent into Avernus but not to that extent
This is so cool! I like that Durge isn't a cackling lunatic. He's a guy who currently has a bad headache and amnesia. How much that changes, we'll see.
He’s only a cackling lunatic in memes. He is mostly portrayed as In Control Until He’s Not in the game. Even Gortash remarks on how sane he is compared to Orrin.
@@damobeck1 Compared to Orin, the JOKER looks sane.
@@damobeck1Yeah, I think he is similar to Sarevok in that regard. They are both calculating, wanting the most amount of murder unlike Orin who goes for beauty and art. Orin is not actually well liked by Bhaal because of this.
@@shadowldrago I’d trust Orrin LONG before I’d trust The Joker
@@damobeck1 That’s because Orin is more likely to keep her word.
One thing I thought was kinda interesting is in the Durge's "lore" if you play them it mentions killing an adventurer in Baldur's Gate, named Tav lol
And ofc as most know if you play Tav then you find Durge's dead body in the sanctum of Bhaal.
So Larian went out of their way to actually explain how they can't exist in the same playthrough, BUT I'd still love some like, "secret route" where Tav and Durge exist together, like if you play one of the non-Baldurian Tav options like Lolthsworn or Githyanki, then obviously they wouldn't have been in Baldur's Gate for Durge to kill as getting there in game is their first time in the city, and then you get to try and uncover Durge's secrets as he himself would learn them, would be interesting to get a narration of all those events from the outside looking in.
I agree tho I personally would love to see the blood in baldurs gate tav try and unravel the unsolved murders, meanwhile in the company of the guiltiest man in all of faerun
I love durge its such a fun playstyle
And the unique narration, definitely adds that mystery to just who you are with hardly any memories at start of the game.
I love how you portray him as a tragic figure, not just an evil maniac. Hope this will be continued.
A lot of memes portray him as a borderline schizophrenic with a thirst for blood, but in game all of his voice lines talk about headaches and being tired. Is he cold and calculating? Yes. But I bet if you were to actually sit down and talk with him he’d sound pretty done with everything, and tired like you wouldn’t believe. If only…
@@bennet2347isn’t it really his dialogue he can say while walking around that’s kinda messed up while every other thing is just him losing control cause of him being a child of bhal
I'm glad you didn't portray Durge as a crazy killer or a nervous stoic. I read your comics and your Durge seems funny and adorable despite being a tragic character.
Durge would probably be the fun and lovable scary character who sometimes doesn't realize he's making people uncomfortable with his comments about murder.
I love how the name for the dark urge is shortened to Durge, because A "durge" is also what they call a musical piece that is composed to be a song of grief or lamentation, often performed as an ode to the dead.
Thanks for having me, it was fun to voice act for ya again.
it's always a pleasure Aurora~
I can’t be the only one that wants more of this, right? BECAUSE I WANT MORE
,,I'm..."
He spoke out of instinct, out of habit, out of his manners mother taught him. But he spoke out of turn. Too late he realized the harsh truth. He doesn't know who he is.
Honestly a stellar performance Silver. I'm looking forward to more. Don't know if you once again did all the little animations within the comic (as I missed the stream)
But you've done a great job. Of course all the other voice actors and artists have my appreciation. Just had to express it to Silver first. No hard feelings.
I think the hesitation after "I'm" is because he realized his "name" is "The Dark Urge." Not exactly something most would call reassuring to hear from one they just met.
@@starplane1239 His name's "The Dark Urge?" I mean I know Baldur's Gate lore is mostly about s*x I just didn't know it's THAT much.
@@itsthegr8matt "Durge" is the shortened form of "Dark Urge". The character you are automatically given when selecting the shaded-out player-made character is a white dragonborn sorcerer named "The Dark Urge", which players shortened to "Durge" for simplicity.
Also the name is not an innuendo. Durge has, to put it free of spoilers, very very bad anger issues.
@@itsthegr8matt Not BG3 getting the Overwatch treatment 😭😭😭
Durge as an NPC party member could’ve been really interesting. I always feel hesitant when I think about playing as him, but I’d probably invite him to camp if I had the choice.
Ah yes, the White Dragonborn Durge, the most vicious and feral of all Dragonborns, being a lovable (but chaotic) bean.
The long version of Tav's name is a nice take. Looking forward to the reveal of his urge!
Never even thought about it, that would be really good DLC, to be able to have the durge as a party member with dialog.
I’ve always liked the idea of Durge and Tav being friends
This either turns into a heartwarming story about Durge getting better and breaking free from Bhaal's influence, or it becomes a tragedy where one will kill the other by the end.
And not knowing which one it will be makes me anxious. In the good way.
Imagine Tavella ending up having to kill her own friend...
I would love if durge were a proper side companion playing as tav
All animations and comics I have seen so far were goofy. Your comic is a nice difference. I love the characters' voice (especially Tav's and Durge's). I would love to see more in the future. Take care. You made an amazing job
... This makes me want the Durge as a companion in a tav story. As much as it was meant to be a playable origin story, this might even make the party dynamic--which is already diverse--even more interesting. Conflict with Gale due to different magical diciplines--Wizard/sorcerer. A respect for Lae'zel and her readiness to stab and kill what gets in her way. A sort of unease toward Karlach, being the barbarian and strongest of the party, while also having the loveability of a golden retriever--something I think the Durge would be very conflicted about. Drisrespecting Wyll and his, at first, idealistic view on the world. Not to mention the dynamics between the other characters. I see a LOT of potential here.
*Sad Alfira noises on the background*
I'm sure we can find another friendly Tiefling to have fun with... right, Tav? 😈
@@GUNDAMURX73 one whose head can be use to play fetch with Scratch, maybe? 👀
I love this 😍. I always wondered how the journey would be if Durge was a companion.
This video made me check out the creator and WOW, the comic looks so good so far! Can't wait to see more dubs of this!
God I love the lil tremble in Silver Souls voice at 1:44, great touch
That's why i want Durge as a actual companion when no one is playing him
I wish durge was a companion you could find in the world. It would be awesome.
Oooo this would be amazing, I'd love to see the dude change over time. Start out slightly nervous cause my tieflings always notice more than they let on. And he'd be an extremely strong character given his relevance to the plot line.
1:08 "His bloodlust. And the pretty corpse that's...oh gods, it's you."
I absolutely loved this! The art, the voices, the performance! It was perfect ❤❤❤
This is so cool! I've loved these comics!
Ive seen this comic on reddit, glad you gave it voice. thanks a lot
You didn't have to make the Dark Urge sound so sexy, but you did. Respect
Such a nice dub! I simply love it! Thank you for such amazing work dude.
I love how durge in game is either a tortured tragic being or living his murderous best life😂
Wow.. those voices are... incredibly fitting.
Great stuff, guys! This was a joy to watch!
The music and the acting made that hit different
this looks great and i have a feeling it could grow greater still with dedication so here's hoping for more like this
Great work!
As someone who also played a blue tiefling monk as my first tav, I approve of this
It's nice to see you back with a comic dub, great work!
This would be cool if we ever got a co-op BG seeing two player characters and seeing what choices the other makes and seeing both " guardians" helping us to defeat a evil threat and plus the combination of origins traits bounce off or mix well together and the fact of endings oh boy this is too much
Hey! This was so awesome! Recently finished my first Baulder’s Gate 3 play through, and I have finally freed myself to enjoy all the fandom stuff. I see there’s a part 2, (I think, I didn’t look too closely), and I’ll be checking out that soon.
Subscribed and waiting for more. Have fun!
cant wait for more and I hope this is going to be a good durge
I just randomly stumbled on this video and I like it can’t wait what comes
More we require more of this immediately
this is awsome please make more parts
great comic and dub, I shall await with baited breath for more
I wish you could have the durge as a companion in every playthrough
I was immeasurably disappointed when I first got the game and discovered Durge wasn't recruitable. My dragonborn Paladin wanted her disaster project boyfriend, damn it!
This is beautiful.. awesome
It would've been very interesting to see how the darke urge would've been as a companion.
Oh yeah, DEFINITELY looking forward to more!
Durge my beloved ❤
Nice use of the BGM for this read
Their copulation is inevitable
I always wondered why the Dark Urge wasn’t an NPC we could meet in game.
Very neat concept, very fun animation, very impressive voice acting
This is actually real fucking good hahaha! Damn, now I wish this was possible in game!
Great Editing, Amazing Voice Acting, And Help From The Actual Artist! Is This A Dream Come True? Because I Dont Want To Wake Up!❤
So, uh, more. Please? This is rad and i’d love to see how it progresses.
Awesome, hope to see more!
THEY NEED TO MAKE DURGE A COMPANION
well damn now i have to wait for part 2
Can't wait for part 2
I need more of them!!
THE ORIGIN COMPANION WE SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN AAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!
Oh no. This is going to break me, isn't it?
I love how he is still dorky, and kind person, who scared of what he was probably was.
Just look at this dorky, sweet chinamon roll face at 2:30
I don’t know if it was intentional but the double meaning of Durge being the shortened form of Dark Urge and sounding like a play on dirge like at funerals is funny.
Instant Sub. I love Durge so damn much.
I need more of this
I'm looking forward to the continuation I really liked it
Can’t wait to see more of this
Hope to see more soon.
I love this I can picture this in game and I want more 😆
I wish they had made him a complete companion too. The interactions between him and the rest of the group with you would be very interesting. Really, if you see his introduction, he doesn't seem like someone bad, but rather someone tormented by inner evil that he can't control.
YES. MORE. PLEASE!
If durge was an npc HOW FAST I WOULD ROMANCE HIM MOVE OVER ASTARION IMMA GONNA GET MY DRAGON MAN
Instant sub!
Amazing job!!!!🥰🤩🥰🤩
I like the idea that unless Tav being the heart party member.
I love how everyone collectively refers to the character as Durge, which started as an abbreviation but since it’s an actual fantasy name it just stuck lol
I need a full series
TBH I kind of wish if Durge could be a companion option too, especially if Tav n Durge would have a connection bc tried to kill Tav before they just not remembering that at first just much later.
My cannon party for BG3 story is Tav, Durge, Shadowheart, Gale. Gale because he has multiple endings giving him main charicter vibes, and shadowheart for basicly being unmissable after you save her from the ship
I love this comic
This reminds me of a playthrough I did with a friend
I was a Drow Durge Barbarian multicasting into Monk, and my friend was planning on being EXCLUSIVELY a Necromancer Wizard
We were gonna go for the unique Dark Urge ending and we joked that my friends character was unsure about making sword coast descend into murder chaos, so my character told him "Ok, if we do this, imagine all the dead bodies you can experiment on."
And then his character was instantly fine with it
I wish Durge was a companion too. It would be sick.
this comic speaks to me because whenever i play with my friends i always pick durge because his extra layer to the story is way too interesting to pass up. considering unless someone plays him he won’t appear in the game
