I don't usually comment but wow. I don't really know Buldar's Gate so I don't know the characters but every frame of this animation is incredible: there is so much consistency, coherence and detail! The animations are fluid with blur effects etc. (especially the heart with all its mechanism aaaah it's huge!) In addition there is always great work in the composition of the images which means that we could stop on each image and contemplate them (there is never one drawing "bad" than another). This short animatic could be a real colorful and animated scene and it's a shame that it has been seen very little. You did an incredible job
(sorry i know this comment is 7 months old but i cannot contain the autistic urge to yap) if you don't have context for this, karlach (the character who opens her chest) was sold to an archdevil, one of the leaders of hell, and had her heart replaced with an engine that runs on hellfire to make her a more efficient fighter. when the game starts and she escapes hell after ten years, the engine starts malfunctioning because it was only designed to function in hell. she literally can't touch anyone without burning them - unless you help her get her engine fixed. this video shows her finally being able to touch someone for the first time in a decade!!
Karlach's heart was replaced with an infernal engine. While she is out of the Hells, that engine burns so hot she cannot touch anyone, and she hasn't touched anyone for 10 years. The infernal mechanic created a shield for her "heart" so she can touch others. These are her first hugs after a decade
@@5Demona5 and she is slowly burned from inside and only way we can help her in game SPOILER is to take her back to hell which I think means one of two things, Mc (or Wyll depending who goes with her to hell) and Karlach die fighting demons or we are living hapily ever after in hell
I am crying, having flash backs to my first Dark Urge who romanced Karlach, and suddenly have a renewed purpose to prep my D&D campaign so that my players can feel half as much as this game made me feel. Thank you underappreciated TH-cam person, thank you.

Screw dlc, there are 3 things I want before Larion finishes this game 1. More pets (noir cat, the hyena we save from the goblins in the beginning of act 2, the admiral pigeon, etc) 2. For Alfira, Volo, and some other npcs to become full fledged companions 3. And more importantly, Dammon should be able to work with the Gondians to help Karlach.
heck ill even take a mini expansion where we go into avernus to pull Karlach out and break into Sariels fortress oceans 11 style to steal the plans for a new heart yes to all the others as well
Worst thing is that the Steel Watch enemies can sometimes drop units of Enriched Infernal Iron or something like that... It's so intuitive that Larian would have put that in the game so that it would be possible for Dammon to use those Iron bits to fix her engine once and for all, and it makes me so mad that they didn't follow through or take the opportunity
@@JurgenBlitz there were plans for that but as far as I know we, players were to greddy and didn't give Larian enought time to finish all that... or they were just lazy af

But not the completion of that quest, which probably would have required way less resources & time than those options, kinda makes me sad

This is what I wished we could do for Karlach. Something that wouldn't just manage the heat so it's just a small comfort, but this. THE MEANS TO KEEP IT UNDER CONTROL WHILE STILL LETTING HER BURN HOT IN A FIGHT! Karlach deserves the world and that's the best way to keep her with us and never needing to return to the hells.
The tears, the joyful hugging of precious friends, the happy smile at the end... perfectly done. Only thing that could have possibly made it better is if Karlach's VA was voicing our Flaming Sweetheart here.
Yes, I fully agree that Karlach wouldn’t have stopped with Tav, she would totally pull the entire party for a group hug, even Astarion. Not that they have the strength to resist anyway, except Lae’zel.
Now I would have loved to see this kind of cutscene when she slotted that heart in when you next meet Dammon after the whole Grove incident. Felt much more emotional as it should be considering what Karlach experienced in Hell and I liked that scene where her engine flames out explosively since that showed just how dangerously hot her engine really is. I'm also guessing that the rogue is Astarion? If so, then his rogue outfit looks nice.
