I discovered your poetry video this morning and saw you had recently uploaded this. Thank you so much for the wise words. I studied poetry in college, pursued it full-time, and eventually burned myself out. I've barely written anything in almost ten years, but recently have been trying to dip my toes back in. You posted this at just the right time, and it's a great reminder of how perfectionism can be really debilitating--it's what has kept me from writing a poem in the past decade. Thanks for the insight!
I discovered you last week and I loved your modern poetry vid a lot. I think this vid is a great exploration of how we put too much pressure on ourselves for things that should be pastimes and with the goal of enjoying yourself in mind. Something I noticed is that during the bits where you had text with complete silence I think it would benefit from some voice acting for instance.
Criticism, done constructively, is an opportunity to improve or look at a new way of creating. More ways to appreciate and use something enhances our experience. Then choice to use a mode of use or style (like the ig poetry haha) is up to the creators discretion. Its nice for the critic to demonstrate more ways to do it, and if it lands, it lands. This whole video was SUPER awakening for me. Often times i have mid stopped or didnt bother with some things i was interested in or had some talent in, simply because of the mental calcus id do whether it was okay to even display or try it. This weird inner elitism towards ones self is pernicious af. Hardly even noticed i was boiling these activities into potentialities and likelihoods instead of whether i enjoyed it. Id definitely love to see more videos that talk about the nature of this overt and inner perfectionism that seems to pervade today's generation. Lemme tell you, there aint no age limit to these things. At 32, its been prb one of the biggest detraction from any success or enjoyment of my beloved crafts. Thanks for including your take on this. Refreshing as always.
You're welcome. You stood out to me as a criminally underrated channel. I remember thinking 'why doesn't' she have more subs???'. I found you through your video on how poor modern poetry is. Glad to see you back @@hansdragoo
Amazing video! Thank you for posting. I do have a small suggestion. I would've loved if the text you had on screen when showing your thoughts and later talking to your cats was read aloud. Maybe with a different effect if you want to keep that stylistic seperation. Personally for me, I often listen to videos like this in the background, so I had to take a pause from what I was doing to be able to read them. I also know people with sight issues might be watching youtube by just listening to it, so they could miss out. I think the informaton was very good and funny, so I'd hate for people to miss out on it. You don't have to do as I say, I just thought I'd throw it out there. I think you're on a great path and have a lot of potential for making videos and I'll definitely checking out more, but this way the videos could be more accessible and therefore reach more people. Good luck with everything! 😊
is your last name actually dragoo? cuz my best friend in middle school had that last name and i remember thinking it was like a sims last name. sorry didnt watch yet about to
@@hansdragoo also im probably like 4 years older than you but when I was a teenager/early 20s everyone was much less critical. people definitely were toxic about being politically correct in like 2014-16 (but it was definitely a turning point from when people would casually use slurs, like straight up racist and homophobic jokes on cable TV, so it makes sense that it was rough and toxic bc it was new also... tumblr) but your generation is just super critical like of yourselves and your peers. like it just seems like the internet culture now is soooo hypercritical. like an infinite mirror chamber.
