Towards the end when the when all instruments are at their peak, Christine Nonbo Andersen's voice rides the crest of a magnificent wave of beautiful sound. I get goose bumps every single time.

I must say Christian has demonstrated time and again her excellence and her range. The lady has a true grasp of the sincere mettle of the piece. Again, I must declare her for her aria which is truly awe inspiring. Her talent is beyond compare. She has performed her craft to perfection and needs to be recognized for her performance.

The building was designed to be a good live hall, as well as a good place to record music, so thats why the sound is so good. I have seen a couple of concerts live in that hall, and the sound is always really really good.

They did a tribute to Morricone with all his spaghetti westerns. The G,B&U was the pentacle.

    • @chrismaverick9828
      @chrismaverick9828 ปีที่แล้ว

There are few pieces that put the Oboe so forward and distinct. Every instrument in 'Ecstasy of Gold' is very deliberate and focused by Morricone's design. It's not thoughtful or reflective like so many classical pieces. Every instrument is bold, aggressive, empowered or haunting. They sear a place into your musical soul that cannot be forgotten.

Some weeks later I saw that the DNSO were presenting another live concert featuring "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" in Copenhagen in August this year. We immediately booked tickets to go. DNSO does things with music that no other orchestra does. Everything is balanced with no one instrument section overriding any of the others or the choir. They did the same thing with Gary Brooker and Procol Harum in 2006 with a Whiter Shade Of Pale. As far as I am concerned, this is the number one symphony orchestra in the world.

It is not all girls that are willing / able to un-amplified take on a whole symphonic orchestra.

The Godfather music score on TH-cam was recorded on the same night and it’s hauntingly beautiful. I attended this concert the night after the filming as our usual seats are behind the cameras and equipment and obscure the viewing. The DR Konserthuset is a magnificent venue, just the lighting, mood and entering the building takes your breath away before you even go through the doors to the main concert hall. Copenhagen is very proud of it’s arts.

I have seen this performance video many times, but I really enjoyed your reaction. Knowing you were to be proven wrong was part of the enjoyment, and then your gracious acknowledgment was the icing on the cake.
I saw this movie when it was first released (I am 79 years old) and even then the haunting quality of the score stayed with me. Glad you enjoyed one of my favorite videos.

Produce at home: great understated (in typical British fashion) reaction.
I think one guy got a note wrong so they strung him up, everything else...perfect, exquisite, I've listened to many other recordings, and I think this is definitely the very best, my favorite. The DNSO is simply the best, best arrangement, best chorus, best conductor, best sound (quality), (love the French Horns), best conductor, the strings were getting it done, also, you know the conductor was quite pleasing also.

This was part of a concert by DNSO that I believe is called "The Morricone Duel". It is roughly an hour long and features the music from 4 of the Morricone/Leone "Spaghetti Western" collaborations, collectively known as the Dollars Trilogy plus music from Once Upon A Time In The West. DVD is available everywhere. I got mine on Ebay. Watch the whole hour long concert. It is time well spent

Since you loved this (as you should if you have any taste), you should know, the Danish National Symphony Orchestra also did "A Fistful of Dollars", "For A Few Dollars More ", "Once Upon A Time in the West", and "James Bond". The videos are online. The Orchestra is currently 98 years old and still kicking @$$ ! 😁. Anyway, loved the review, love you man, take care and stay safe ❤️.

This is from my favorite movie EVER.
And I have watched LOTS of reactions to the music.
You are the 1st to point out the delayed transitions from the oboe. !!!
After showing it to my 6 year old grandson, he said the soprano lady "pumps my heart."
Then I knew he had ... appreciation. He and his sister, now 4, always ask for it.

Great reaction video, I loved seeing your amazement unfold. I've been to several of their theme concerts and they are absolutely amazing, so yes definitely go see them when you get the chance. The concert hall is amazing in itself, and the sound is great no matter where you are sitting. Best concert experiences ever.
There are so many memorable moments from these concerts, but two of them are Diva dance from The Fifth Element (with the most amazing opera singer) and the theme from Interstellar where they used the gigantic organ that's also in the concert hall. Never, ever felt shivers like that.

This film was set in the American civil war and even now some southerners
derisively call people from the north Yankees. I have a connection to that war in that one of my relatives fought for the North was captured twice, escaped once, shot in the neck, let go the other time. My family has about 25 letters he wrote home during the war. He survived the war and became mayor of Auburn NY after his military service.
