Do you have a materials list and design plan for this? My FIL hays about 30 acres, but he's 80 yo. I have shoulder and back issues and my kids hate being "voluntold" that we're picking up bales and you need to help. I have been looking at the Maxilator, but he doesn't want to spend the money on one. I would gladly pay for the materials and build it myself, if I can get my hands on plans and a materials list.
Looks like an awesome build in the works. Can't hardly wait to see how it turns out. After seeing your last safety video, it was good to see you wearing those safety glass while grinding on metal. Stay safe.
I'm really looking forward to finishing it, and seeing how it turns out. Safety glasses are a MUST, all the time. It's very rare to not see them on my face when working. Thanks for watching, and stay tuned!
looking good i love building stuff like that. mostly what they had me doing was welding steam pipe. that is a lot like platforms we would build. weird but i liked it.
Nice build Chris, did you buy an accumulator for the baler or are you going to build one of those also? Or are you going to just use the grabber your building?
Thanks bud! This will be a combination of both, much like the Maxilator. I don't know if you've seen videos of them, but they're pretty slick. Have a good one!
I will have to check them out! We are looking at making small square bales this year, straw bales for the calving pens and hay for the horse and to feed any cows we put in the calving pens. I might have to build one as well!
Small square bales are a pain, but definitely have their place. We tried big squares for a while, but it just wasn't working for our setup. A new 8-10 bale grapple/accumulator is about $6k. I'm only $750-ish into this one. In the end it might be 800.

Looking good so far. Having the right tools makes jobs like this easier.
One day when I'm a grown up, I'll get a welding table! Ha ha

Nice, looking forward to the rest of the project. I've got a grapple build in mind so this is really helpful.
Thanks Harrison! Stay tuned as I'll have videos coming out pretty quick on this. I have all next week off to finish it!

for the main frame you must of used 2x4 x 1/8 thick tubing and with a 1/4 attachment plate?
I am really interested in learning about your wire welder. nice work on the prefab. you in my way of thinking got a lot done.
Let me know if you have any specific questions about it, I can PM you or make a review on it. Thanks for watching bud!
That should make moving square bails a lot easier. I might try to build one . Looking good.👍🏻
It's going to completely change things for us. Now I won't be afraid of getting more hay ground! If you end up needing any help let me know! Take care
