Oh hey, a new Subnautica video. That was unexpected. You can thank the mysterious algorithm for recommending my old ones a lot lately. Anyways, I'm still cooking up some other big videos. Stick around or find me on Twitter if you want to catch 'em: twitter.com/entropy_phi
Fun fact about the Sea Emperor babies: they actually spread out to multiple different spots on the map, although you won't find more than one in one location
The only time you actually need to get into the water is to BUILD the rocket, due to a glitch that makes the game think you're in a base while you're underwater.
You know, there is actually a mod that implements this, essentially it tricks the game into thinking when you are surfaced you are actually underwater, meaning your air goes down, even on the surface
@@thegoofiestofguys You are not supposed to, you can but initially it was for the architects, they made the cyclops likely why’d there be so many fragments of it ? The degasi crew couldnt have made so many cyclops and crash them everywhere
This would be a really cool mod. Like, the air being CO2 or acidic, forcing you to have a limited time outside if you dont have a suit/mask built specifically for going outside.
Subnautica became free on PlayStation for all users as a play at home sale which explains why the yt algorithm loves it all of a sudden It was announced early in the month and was released March 25th
You could just say that as long as you stay in the atmosphere for less time than your o2 tank, so your breathing from your o2 tank, so i count you as a win
The air pipes are actually a godsend when you have an abundance of titanium. They help you explore deep/unavigatable locations without having to find your way to a natural air source
Yeah, maybe like a seamoth? And if you’re going deep enough that you can’t use a seanoth, then you’ll use the cyclops, because if you go that deep you’ll have a cyclops.
Your videos got recommended to everyone now because submautica is free on ps4, so a LOT of ppl is starting to play and watching a lot of subnautica videos like me
They died because either their pods sunk too low and they couldn’t get up in time, the Carnivores found them and killed them, their pods malfunctioned leading to death, or they landed in a bad area like the thermal vents. The air wasn’t bad, it was the environment
You could get vehicles if you put the MVB inside a moonpool. It's also technically possible to build the rocket that way, and using base pieces to keep it from floating up.
When I actually did my run of this, I was too much of a baby to live without vehicles, so I just pushed the vehicle fabricator into the docking bay of the big gun facility.
I like to imagine that the toxic air is only toxic while you’re infected, like the Khhara infection reacts with some space chemicals and kills your lungs to death.
well you had to make the cyclops to make the shield generator, which means you went above air to make it. also the rocket is ovbiously in the air but otherwise from those points it was a good interesting video
I mean the easiest solution is that you'll get something like a radiation suit but different ish, like a gas mask and it would just filter the gas which I would think would be pure CO2, the gas mask would just work like an oxygen tank underwater, you'll have an oxygen meter and you would only be able to stay at the surface for a limited amount of time.
Man. I gotta try this challenge. Beat Subnautica without a vehicle and that includes the seamoth cause technically that’s a vehicle. Slow going but doable. One, you can use a rebreather to go deeper. Two, you can upgrade your tank to go even deeper. Thirdly, I forget what it is but it’s the thing you use to ascend to the surface fairly quickly. Very doable and no creative mode. I need to do this challenge
I saw that map and realized how bad the map I'm using was. Checked the description not expecting to find it, and it was there. Good on you for crediting that.
Actually it would be possible to get vehicles. There’s actually no restrictions on how deep you can place the vehicle bay, so you might be able to (I haven’t tested this) bring the resources and build the vehicle before it reaches the surface
just for kicks n giggles, you should do a vegan run, with the air idea but altered. you can download a mod to make the surface air toxic but not lethal, so you will take damage but not die right away, atleast until you get a re-breather. or set it so that you breathe from your tanks while on above sea level then when your tanks run out you die.
Nice! I'm actually doing this as well. =D I do plan on completing the game though so I made some special rules like I can go to the Aurora and alien bases once (but get everything I need done in one go, so for example only go to the enforcement platform once I can disable the gun and only go inside the facility) and I can only built the rocket once I have done everything else, in other words, to finish the game. But yeah: no islands, no vehicles, no going up for air, all warps gates except the one underwater one are a no go and alien bases with air are not eligible for that saving breath. But other than that, I've had a "normal" run: scan a bunch of stuff, investigate all biomes, built big bases, visit all lifepods, figure out all the underwater degasi stuff and so on. And since I haven't played the game in a while, I don't actually remember the map that well which makes things slightly tougher. For example at the start it took me a real while to figure out which direction Aurora was at from my lifepod cause I'm used to peeking up and looking at it for orientation. It has certainly been... different. In a good way! And lot's of fun.
I feel like the player character would be able to hold his breath long enough to tap a few buttons on the vehicle bay console, but otherwise, this was really cool to watch... Now that I think about it, is it possible to put a vehicle bay in the Sea Emporer's habitat? Because then you could make vehicles in there because the air is filtered, and pilot them out the portal.
I’m very glad you revisited the game, I loved the old videos! I subbed already because the other vids are good too, hopefully this vid will bring in more people like me
Hey! So, I found you through your subnautica videos, then watched your oblivion videos. Now I'm subscribed. Youre pretty entertaining, keep up the good work :>
I was goofing around with the prawn suit grapple and managed to tip the launch platform to a precarious angle. The ship still launched. I wonder how far you can push that between using those sticky floater fish, grappling, and driving the cyclops up onto the angled platform. Maybe you could build the ship entirely upside down. ;-)
i can actually assume that in the architect base, yknow the one with the way into the ocean? You might be able to make a seamoth using it, not a cyclops but it might be possible for a seamoth to be made in it.
It is just as you said. The algorithm has been promoting Subnautica themed videos as of late and lo and behold here you are in my recommendations. I love the grim atmosphere and fear of a lingering threat more than anything else in this game, so what is there left to say besides: It's dangerous to go alone, take this (like).
I wish I could code because I would make a mod where you can get air from the surface, just whenever you get air from the surface, it hurts you. My lore would be that 4546B has a atmosphere of pure oxygen. Because the air tanks add CO2 to it to create air but you can’t breathe it or you die.
btw purple tablets can be find - 1. in the water cave under gun island 2. in cave in the gun island 3. on the foating island in the degasi base 4. on the hill on the gun
There's a mod that adds a new game mode, it's basically hardcore but you cant breath the surface air without a pump and the lifepod sinks after 3 deconds
I only find the air pump actually useful if you're unlucky finding the mobile vehicle bay parts and need to explore that big wreck in the tall red grass area. (I have owned this game since it released on Xbox, dont ask how I still dont know the damn biome)
You could've accepted the Vehicle bay because Brain Coral, Ice Bubbles, Oxygen Plant, Titan Holefish provides oxygen without being at the surface so you could've said those floaters could've been using those types of oxygen
The devs announced Below Zero is getting released in May 2021. Just about the middle of the month. Already been playing it in early access and it’s a worthy Subnautica game. The first one will always be the best, but Below Zero will stand in its own right. You could know nothing about the first game and still enjoy it.
You could have escaped the planet, go to the lost river, craft a moon pool near the gargantuan leviathan fossil, put the mobile vehicle bay in the water thing in the moon pool facing the gargantuan leviathan fossil and near the edge of the moon pool water thing and craft the rocket
Here is basically how to beat the game: start how most would normally start, repair tool, habit builder, seaglide, etc. grab a seamoth and a radiation suit and go to the aroura, (quick tip) the best way to avoid the reaper leviathans is to hug the surface and squeeze in through a gap in the aroura. Using a MVB against a cave roof is a pretty common way to clip outside the map. Haven't tried building from one though, dunno if it'd place the vehicle out of bounds or just prevent you from making it.
