    What kinda gas mile do you get with the 33 inch tires with the 4:56 gears? And what is your rpm going say 65mph?

    Sweet rig! Mine has a similar paint patina, which I consider "badass bulletproof Jeep character" that requires a lot of trails and time to obtain. Thanks for the vid -and rock on, brother. Jeep wave from Ohio.

    Any issues with the warrior spring shackles? Difference in steering/handling? Does it ride softer or worse?

    • @fishhuntadventure

      Well look at his drag link! Why downgrade the suspension with tall shackles that make it worse instead of fixing the steering?

    When you took your sway bar off did you notice any clunking when you steered right to left or left to right? When I did my old man EMU lift I took mine off and at clunked like crazy and I put it on and it stopped

    did you put a lift on the jeep at all? or did you just get longer shakles

    • @FastFerrariF355
      @FastFerrariF355  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it has a full spring replacement as well. .... 4" lift Pro Comp springs. The Warrior shackles I installed are 3" longer than stock shackles. Shackles only lift half the spring thus only yield half the amount of added length in lift bringing my shackle lift to 1.5"of added lift. Total lift on the Jeep is 5.5" (4"spring,1.5" shackle).

    what's the trailer you pull? looking to get one, but worried about how much is safe to tow.

    • @FastFerrariF355
      @FastFerrariF355  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a 5x10 enclosed trailer by Continental Cargo. Model Tailwind. I would say this about the limit of what I feel comfortable towing with my Wrangler. With the trailer empty it does fine. With a load, you can for sure feel it back there. Keep in mind too that I have the 4.0 6cyl and a rear axle with a Dynatrac Dana 60 with disc brakes giving me 4 wheel disc brakes. The curb weight on this trailer is 1200 lbs. I have easily had another 800-1000 lbs. I would say 2000 lbs in tow is about the max for safety. Wranglers don't tow well. Thanks for watching :)

    • @galehess6676
      @galehess6676 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Short wheel base and tall (relatively) center of gravity.... and no trailer brakes... be careful. Load balanced and not too far back which being too far back can make it fishtail, the trailer starts to swing if you steer, especially avoidance steering, plus the rear axle on jeep is light and if you nail brakes the hitch can push forward, especially if going down hill, and can further lighten the rear wheels. That scenario gets even worse in rain, plus people always pull out in front of you... No accidents so far, but it is nothing like driving a pickup with a reasonable load, or a semi which has more braking power, anything is better than a jeep and trailer. Just because it's legal, doesn't make it safe. And definitely 55mph max, or posted.

    2.5 inch lift on 33inc tires ? Yes
    I'm curious - love the set up

    • @FastFerrariF355
      @FastFerrariF355  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is 5 1/2 inches of lift and 33's. A 4" lift min. is needed to comfortably fit 33 inch tires. Thanks for watching !

    @dieselburner4461 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I just got a yj . So with just spring shackles I can get a lift?

    • @FastFerrariF355
      @FastFerrariF355  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Diesel Burner ... shackles can give you a little lift. They only lift half of the spring ...so 3” taller shackles than stock yields 1.5” of lift. Pretty inexpensive to do.

    I know this was 2 years ago but you said you removed your front and rear sway bars and haven't had any problems with it but I was wondering if this is still true or you had wobble problems since.

    • @FastFerrariF355
      @FastFerrariF355  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah, i made this video shortly after removing front sway and track bars , the rear track bar was tossed in 2005. I really hadn't put a whole lot of miles on it after making this. Fast-forward 2 years later .... I have not experienced any wobble. I have since moved to San Diego and drove the vehicle the 1100 mi. trip heavily loaded and now drive it daily to work. I've now put thousands of miles on it without wobble. I would however admit , I've noticed a reduction in steering response but have since gotten used to it. Other people who have driven the Jeep have felt uneasy about the steering manners, but these are people used to driving a street car/truck with tight/normal steering response. The loss of steering response is understandable being that the only thing keeping the axle steadied under the vehicle are the leaf springs, which have a certain amount of side to side flex. The poly bushings were replaced in the frame side but the ones in the spring eyes are 10 years old and worn. I could gain some response back replacing therm bet there is always going to be reduced response without a front track bar which gives the axle side to side stability and rigidity. This is a trail rig and what works good on the street doesn't necessarily work good off road and vise versa. I am happy to deal with some loss of steering response on the street to gain off road performance and have a significant improvement in a smoother ride over bumps and such. Sorry about the novel length response, just wanted to explain with detail.

      Hello JeepCollector91, saw some posts you had in a jeep forum. Yeah!!! I have, fixed the doors , put the front 3rd member back together, front axles, repacked f bearings, f hubs, put brakes on and bled. Just need trans,wipers,fluids,filters,wheels,and a battery. Has your computer on your Jeep been ok?

    • @jeepcollector91
      @jeepcollector91 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** Glad to hear your actually making progress on the Toyota. I haven't done anything to any of my "neglected & forgotten projects". Been too busy with the Jeep KJ diesel to gas drivetrain swap. Thought about putting the '86 Chevrolet M1008 CUCV up for sale. You making any vids of the Toyota rebuild? Haven't had any trouble with my '91 YJ computer yet (now that I said that watch it act up tomorrow...)

    • @FastFerrariF355
      @FastFerrariF355  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      JeepCollector91 Thought about doing Toyota vids. This truck has been parked not running for about 7 years and i am running into rust and corrosion issues. So how to vids make it a little hard. However maybe it would be fun to do how to battle rust and corrosion...haha. Diesel to gas swap? Whats that about?

    • @jeepcollector91
      @jeepcollector91 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** I know that rust is catching up to me on my projects too.
      Instead of "how to" videos for the Toyota, you can always do small review vids before and after each job. I know how much making a video really slows things down. What would normally take an hour may take half the day when trying to film the job.
      The diesel to gas swap is a last resort to get the '05 KJ back on the road. Keep throwing money at the 2.8L VM-Motori diesel CRD only to have more issues. I ended up buying a complete 2006 Jeep KJ that was wrecked last winter. I am swapping the entire drivetrain, fuel system, dash and wiring over to the '05 until I can rebuild the 2.8L CRD. Even have to swap the ABS over since the '05 has a 3 channel and the '06 has the 4 channel ABS. Lots to do before I can get back to work on anything else. Had planned on completing the axle swap on the YJ but that got put off again.

    How was your gas mileage able to go back up to where it was before?

    • @FastFerrariF355
      @FastFerrariF355  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Michael Langdon The computer or ECM regulates and controls the the emissions and adjusts the air/fuel mixture and spark timing, when bad it can't regulate properly. A bad fuel regulator will also affect fuel mileage. Repairing these gave me a 8-10 mpg boost.

    How much of a load have you towed with that bumper?

    • @FastFerrariF355
      @FastFerrariF355  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Alex Mozingo Officially Smittybuilt doesn't recommend towing at all with this bumper but it has held up. The welds are nice and thick. I have towed some fairly heavy loads with it. I towed the trailer in this video frequently for my BBQ business as far as 70 miles at a time with steep hills near my house where the trailer was stored. I would estimate that I have had loads upwards of 1000-1400 lbs , which along with the weight of the trailer, for my Wrangler was about the limit of what I felt comfortable with. Fully loaded with all my BBQ food and supplies , I could most definitely feel the trailer behind the Jeep. The 4 wheel disc brake set up was almost a necessity as the trailer does not have brakes. I did have to tighten the bolts that mount the bumper to the frame once from towing this load. The loose bolts were actually noticed by me in one of my Jeep videos on TH-cam. After tightening them, they have been solid ever since. Could not be happier with this bumper.

    Couldn't you just cut the bolt heads off and slide them out he opposite way instead of dropping the tank?

    • @FastFerrariF355
      @FastFerrariF355  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      anonymous guy Sure could. An excellent suggestion. However, that tank is pretty easy to pull. Chances are , if your working on a YJ the pump is pretty old and this upgrade is a good time for replacement of a vital part that would leave you stuck on the side of the road when it fails.
