Yo, this is a good video. I always tell people ways how to beat Sonic, but people just shrug it off and still call Sonic an op and unstoppable character. I was originally gonna make a video on it, since I’m a Sonic main, but this video tackle main points that I wanted to make. Either way, thanks for the video. It’s pretty informative and thought out.
Paul Choi I play other characters and play with other Sonic players. I do know what it’s like playing against campy Sonics. He’s just super annoying, but not like overwhelming to fight against like other characters.
Paul Choi Rob, Samus, Ice Climbers once they grab you, Pikachu, Wii Fit after getting deep breathing, Wolf, and so on. If you’re confident on why Sonic is overwhelming, then go ahead and explain it. Don’t say because he’s fast and can time you out. There’s other characters that can time out better but don’t because they have options to not force them to time out compare to Sonic.
@@NipahAllDay watch pro players opinion on sonic on like wifi tier lists. I have nothing to say to a guy who says ice climbers, wolf, and more are more cheese than sonic like wtf. No wonder the smash community hates players who uses sonic like wrath and sonix. Im not hoping your one of those sonic mains who defends sonic like a butthurt.
I’m a Roy main and sonic bothers me much Edit: Nevermind I main donkey Kong now and he’s fun also Roy became almost the least character that I use because my second favorite character is ness and he’s the most character that I have fun with
Literally just camp until he drives out of Spindash/Homing Attack, this is literally how people have beaten me as a Sonic Main, his durability is shit and can die at 40%, all of his attacks require hand to hand hit box frame.
He doesn't fucking die at 40% 😂, all hits attacks lead into each other don't even play with the " hand to hand hitbox" when his f smash is the rame range as Marths sword 😂
@@NamelessViking01 yes he does die at 40% he’s that light, his combos are easy to chain but he has a hard time killing and wow! One normal charge smash which is exactly hand to hand, it’s long but it’s really the only decisive quirk he has so got any other pointers my guy?

To die at 40% ( also that's a false %) you would have to get hit by a smash attack and as sonic with your speed and movement should never die to a smash attack 😂. I tested the %. At center stage a, max rage pyra no charge f-smash kills sonic at 65% on FD. Then I did the same thing to bowser. Same stage, pyra with max rage, straight f mash, no charge and bowser died at 85%. That's one of the strangest F smashes in the game which means other f smash will take even longer to kill. Also his f smash is his best move because it has invincibility ( th-cam.com/video/sjvKInE8tzI/w-d-xo.html) video explains it
@@NamelessViking01 “lol if you get hit you suck” there’s no way you’re using this logic, first of all speed and movement = / = Durability and Speed + Movement can be countered simply by good reaction time. Who the hell said we were only talking about the Center of the damn stage?! We’re talking corners with every method including dunks, those that would not kill other characters can kill Sonic. Oh please don’t use videos from Clockwork or UR2SLOW those guys are not normal Sonic mains whatsoever they are the exception and not the rule they say anything that makes Sonic look top tier in the game. Get bent.
@@TheMightOfGeburah yes im using that logic, as sonic with his speed, your gameplan is bait and punish. If you're getting hit by an f smash, your bait and punish game is bad. Online reaction can be impossible depending on which move is being used. PREDICTIONS is what wins you games online. In person yes reactions is a lot easier but some moves are still unreactable offline as well.
@1337 About Neutral~ Sonic's main strength is his ability to have a decent matchup against any character in the game, meaning there is no character that truly counters sonic, and sonic truly hard counters about 5 characters, that being Ganondorf, Little Mac, Dr. Mario, Incineroar, and Mii Gunner. Other characters have at least something, that one thing cannot change the whole match, but at least lets them win neutral about... two or more times XD It really depends on the Sonic player you come across, and not just more skillful but strongly dependent on the player's habits. Ridley's ability to vary his playstyle, an unknown strength that many characters have, can challenge Sonic, but that challenges Sonic's best and scariest strength. If a Sonic wishes to fight back, they have to abuse their speed and frame data, camping will fail due to Ridley having an effective projectile, play very very very aggressive, use the shield and spot dodges. All in all, the matchup changes depending on the player's habits, of both characters.
That's the problem they are always always talking about how they want to counter Sonic so much but the thing is not all of them but camp there are actually good players we just want to get rid of the campy ones not the good players that use the character right

Oh your a sonic main.. so you don't know what it feels like to get camped by sonic. Even the pgr players struggle and get annoyed by sonic

You forgot that Sonic can also use up b after hitting shield with spindash. Spring also is a good combo breaker but doesn’t help against true combos.
The Up B after the spin dash is similar enough to gaining stage control and corner pressuring him

Know this is outdated, but Roy beats Sonic. He pretty much bodies him if he is able to put pressure against Sonic.
