The world mourns the passing of this legendary musician and songwriter. His influence on music and culture will be felt for generations. His memory will live on in the songs he wrote and the music he made. His memory will live on in the songs he wrote and the music he made. Thank you, and rest in peace, David Crosby.
Who are you and where on what road Drop your heavy load So you can live better And then share of yourself Because the rest Are brothers from other mothers Each, child's world as well Not ours to harm In small or big ways Instead let's inspire them to dream Then the one they pick We can help them try Always encouraging them to ask why So we could tell them from wisdom inside Then what you say falls on deaf ears, just sigh And know you told them And us (hope you care and) Need to stop fear ( creates a wave) Because that fear ( spins askew) Created by others grew ( trapping ourselves) And so we help ( reach your minds eye) Reverse lessons from youth ( forced to believe) We seek the truth ( create our thought waves) Before we eat the pie (each one gets one slice) Each, person's Earth as well Not theirs to harm But to protect by Inspiring others and their dreams Then the one they pick We can help them try Always encouraging them not to lie So they can listen from the wisdom inside Then they can learn to hear with deaf ears No more sighing And know you tried to help them
I am 65 and no one is more aware of this than me. The 60;s and 70's were the Golden Age of Folk and Rock and Roll. Those days are long gone, replaced by the totally garbage "music" of today
Sometimes when I see a new clip posted on the Letterman channel...I automatically think that guest has died! It's not always the case...but its funny how I'm getting conditioned to thinking that.
Man, what amazing music. Amazing human. Love to all his family and friends. He has entered the Great Gig in the Sky, but his music will live in our hearts forever
I am 57. The first time I experienced Mr. Crosby was on the radio at the age of five. I grew up in northeast Ohio. During the summer of 1970, "Ohio" was in hot rotation. In 1987, I was able to experience CSN live for the first time. During the late 1990s, I experienced CSN&Y live. Some of my best musical experiences occurred during CSN/CSN&Y. Why? Because of the harmonies. These men could always deliver. I had the wonderful opportunity to shake Mr. Crosby's hand during the Occupy New York movement. RIP
I've always loved Letterman's late show!:) I have always loved Crosby, Stills and Nash 🎶such perfect harmony ✨my deepest sympathy for his family 🙏 your music will live on forever ✌️❤️🥰
I've read so many crazy stories about David Crosby lol. Very lucky to have made it to his 80s with such a hard lifestyle, but he did. RIP David Crosby!
I grew up in Upstate New York in the 60's and 70's and I listened to them all the time...Great music. He will be sorely missed,! Thanks for the memories your music gave me. RIP>
Can’t be…. 😢 what another crappy start to a year….. and unnerving to a 66 year old codger (me). All these greats who have passed on were the music of my life, kinda makes you think, don’t it?? Here’s to you Sir, R.I.P.
What a wonderful mix of poetry, music and so much wisdom. My parents and my daughter are my world. And Crosby, Stills & Nasch gave me a key to connect their universes. Rest in Peace Beloved Crosby.
Wow!! Hearing about David Crosby passing away was a tragic bit of news that hit me hard. I saw him in concert at a small venue a few years back. They were great!!!! I loved his music and his voice!!! So sad!!! I will miss him! He was a true legend!!! 😢😢
Deja vu is easily one of best albums of all time. Since Mr. Crosby's passing I have dutifully listened to it every evening. It gives my soul peace. Except the neil young songs. RIP Mr. Crosby. You profoundly touched my heart with your music and kindness.
Gosh I just showed this to my papa who is a fan of this guys.. wow! And I grew up to this song being sung by my papa and his siblings (they are musicians, him and his sisters) and sometimes him and his male friends.. I just love this song because this reminds me of good ol childhood days.. CSN forever eh!
RIP. DAVID CROSBY. GOD-GIVEN TALENT. HIS VOICE WAS SO BEAUTIFUL. TENDER. BIGGGGGGGGGGG LOSS IN THE MUSIC WORLD. WOWWW. REST IN PEACE DAVID CROSBY. 🙏🙏🙏❤️✌️👍
The only reason I know when a celebrity dies is when I see a video of them posted on this channel. Thanks for helping me stay up on current events, @Letterman!
David Crosby played Chester on The John Larroquette Show. His character disappears and dies off screen in the first season. I was 15 years old at the time, and I just assumed (or my mother misinformed me) that was how the show dealt with David Crosby actually dying. I was so sad about it at the time that, for the past 30 years, I have had a hard time forgetting that death was only fictional. RIP
I’m so sorry to hear of his passing I had to turn it on because I was a kid when this music was on but once I turned it on and listen to it I remember every single song my whole family or singers in Kansas City I’m sure that they will miss him also they probably sang the hit their songs at one time or still are RIP Crosby
It feels like the beginning of the end of an era. Most of these great 60s stars are in their 80s now, or at least close, and we all know they didn't take the greatest care of themselves back in the day. Sad that we'll never see this trio perform live again. Their music is some of the greatest pop/rock/folk ever written.
When a lot of people were going on about boyband this and boyband that, I would tell them that Crosby, Still, Nash and occasionally when they got together with Young, are my kind of boyband. You can keep your Borezone & Bacteria Boys.

RIP, David Crosby. I love your music. Condolences to your family and close friends. Your music will live on for generations.
Sad we are losing so many artists from arguably one of the greatest generations of songwriting.
gone but never forgotten
there is no dispute - it WAS the era to end all eras for musicians
I am 65 and no one is more aware of this than me. The 60;s and 70's were the Golden Age of Folk and Rock and Roll. Those days are long gone, replaced by the totally garbage "music" of today
You got to love how as soon as somebody dies Letterman's TH-cam Channel had got a video ready to go. Rest in peace my friend.
I receive their notifications sooner than I get the news alerts about the deaths. 🫤
Actually it really bums me out cause every post from this its usually someone who has recently died.
RIP David Crosby... 🌹

@johndavis3921 -- Bravo from Acapulco....age 77!
Same. it was Ohio in early 70s that hooked me as a little one.
Saw them during their final tour together in 2015. Wish I'd seen them when I/they were younger.
What a song. They are part of my soundtrack but not this song so it was great listening to it again.
Legend
RIP..!!! PEACE, WORLDWIDE...
There is nothing the human being can do when it is time to answer the final home call. May his musical and lyrical soul rest in perfect peace. 😢

Hey Dave!!! Isaac Hayes did a great version of Shaft on your show. The only versions of it on TH-cam are poor quality. Can you upload one?
