As much disharmony as there may have been off-stage...on-stage these guys were magic. Rest in peace, David Crosby. This remains my favorite song they ever performed.
Damn, all the music I grew up on. I am sooo happy to have grown up when I did. I'm 65 year old "girl", lol, & I wouldn't trade it for anything. I was raised on some of the best music ever. Perfect example right here.
Three for the largest part, four when Neil Young stuck around, and various duos, depending on the time, as well as each of them had quite successful solo careers.
I discovered this song (and this version of it) about 6 years ago. I haven't been able to stop listening to it since. A vocal harmony masterclass and a beautiful song ❤
I took my dad to see the trio in the Midwest and South. I met David and Graham in an elevator in Huntsville and thanked them for the beautiful music. I could have met Stephen but decided against eating at the hotel. A mistake I regret.
Absolutely. To be able to leave something so incredible for everyone is amazing. My Dad introduced me to CSN. He passed away last year and I really miss talking with him about these guys.
This is my favorite Crosby, Stills and Nash song. I've grown old now and can understand what they were singing about. Life is too short to fake it, you'll feel a lot better standing up for who you are.
I bought this album in 20 year anniversary of the summer of love 1987 for those of you who were around in 67 an cant remember because you were tripping your face off . I also graduated high school that year in 87 . I was 17 getting ready to turn 18 that August . I have been in love with CSN for 33 years and I will always love wasted on the way I didn't have to turn 50 which I do this August to figure it out but I can say there are friends that I can't wait for them to figure it out .Cause I love you guys Travis Barcomb Andy Latimer Joel Allenbaugh and John Hope come on guys it's been 30 yrs this summer and I still love you all
I saw them in Hartford.. two or three songs in it turned into an 18000 person sing along.. they turned off the stage lights and put the house lights on. An incredible experience.
I saw these guys at Woodstock 1969! Harmonies were second to none! Thank God some things never change! Rock in Peace David! You are loved and will be sorely missed!❤🎶🎼🎵🎤🎸
Everyone says I was born late. I was only 4 years old when Woodstock took place, yet I would have been there if I was older. Peace, pot and microdot my friends😊
NEVER WILL I TIRE OF STEPHEN STILLS , GRAHAM NASH AND DAVID CROSBY WHEN I HEAR THEM SING IT'S GOD GIFT TO MY EARS BEAUTIFUL HARMONY SING ON MY BROTHERS ✌🖖🙏
My son's high school class sang "teach your children" to their parents at invocation. I will never forget it, and every time I hear this, no matter where I am, I can't speak or I'll cry 😢❤❤
Each of C,S,&N are special in their own way. Nash is a very careful musician, Stills is never afraid to go and thrash his guitar, and Crosby is amazing in that his vocals never stand out, meaning his blending is so seamless as to be invisible. 💙🙏🏼
@loristoneking5671 listen to David and Graham do Guinnevere by themselves in concert, with Graham playing harmonica - haunting - the ending is EPIC, and the audience is blown away.
2 guitars and 3 guys singing and they sound better than 99.9% of so called artists of today with their billion dollars of electronics helping them! This is real music!
Danke 🙏💕
From another 60/70s geezer...these guys are the best, sans question. True rock and roll & meaningful. Best harmony. Just saw them...after 30+ years...awesome!
Look around me I can see my life before me Running rings around the way It used to be I am older now I have more than what I wanted But I wish that I had started Long before I did And there's so much time to make up Everywhere you turn Time we have wasted on the way So much water moving Underneath the bridge Let the water come and carry us away Oh when you were young Did you question all the answers Did you envy all the dancers Who had all the nerve Look round you know You must go for what you wanted Look at all my friends who did and got what they deserved And there's so much time to make up Everywhere you turn Time we have wasted on the way So much water moving Underneath the bridge Let the water come and carry us away And there's so much love to make up Everywhere you turn Love we have wasted on the way So much water moving Underneath the bridge Let the water come and carry us away Let the water come and carry us away
Their harmony in that song is so beautiful. A lot of groups had good harmony, but something about Dave, Steve, and Graham's voices blending is even now after over 50 years, so magical
crosby was epic in taking the high part of those harmonies... you look at him, his completely relaxed face, and you can't believe it is he who is hitting those high notes with such ease and purity.
Just pure magic, these three guys....My heart is broken that "and now we are two", as Croz has flown away. But his music ....wow, such a legacy to live on. Timeless.
God, I love all three of these guys, and all of them together. Look at them -- three such different personalities, singers, people, but put them together and -- YIKES! We were so lucky to have their music during our coming-of-age years. I think I am a better person for it.
I listen everyday. Just bought the autobiography of Croz and Nash. These guys were my escape from reality when I was young and troubled. No bigger fan then myself. See you in Omaha in August, Graham.
So many years wasted with petty arguments about trivial matters, so true! I love all their music, for they sing the truth!!! God Bless this gifted trio of artistic magic!!!❤❤❤
Too bad they didn’t practice a little more of what they preached - perhaps we’d have had a bit more music from them before it was too late. (I’m mainly looking at you, Nash and Young).
The first time I heard this, I felt shattered, and every time the same. Bonnie's voice imbues these songs with such vulnerability. Her version of 'Love has no Pride' another heartbreaker ❤
When this song came out 40 years ago it just reminded me so much of my two best friends and I. We were in our 30s at the time and we're not quite where we should have been financially. I always wished we had more money to do more things that we love to do together. They are both gone now and I miss them so much . This song is how I stay in touch with them. Sleep well my brothers I will miss you forever.
@wesweldon8350 No you don't but it does afford you a lot more opportunities then you would have if you were broke . I have been very very poor and also pretty well off not rich but very comfortable and believe me life is a lot easier if you're not worrying about paying bills . Hanging out is a lot different then being able to afford to go on trips together . It's all relative to how much money you actually have
@@emm352 I was about to say that. Saw them on CBS this morning a few months ago. They could be making incredible music and are really blowing it by being petty.
Nash has said that he likes his music to be personal--it doesn't get much more personal than this. And I love the views of them in profile singing together. It's how I'll always remember them, now that Croz is gone.
I'm 67 and my almost-daughter-in-law may be around 30 and she loves these guys as much as I do. And I have been listening to CSN&Y for 49 freaking years!
As much disharmony as there may have been off-stage...on-stage these guys were magic.
Rest in peace, David Crosby.
This remains my favorite song they ever performed.
Listening to this over and over; there is NO harmony like the harmony they produced. What an amazing sound.
Pure magic when they combine their voices.
favorite song and best performance of it.
these guys got people to chill and be peaceful ,
None of them could deny they were born to sing together
Goosebumps still, 50-some odd years later. ❤
If I can click ‘like’ a million times I’ll do so just to show my admiration.

My generation made music that has stood the test of time. Oldies but goodies.
I think the music from the early 70s was the best songs there's ever been.
This was longer than 12 years ago but one of the best songs ever. This group of 3 talented artists is still listened to today and loved!
Four.
Three for the largest part, four when Neil Young stuck around, and various duos, depending on the time, as well as each of them had quite successful solo careers.
CSN Daylight Again tour 1983

The harmony on this song is so good. I've listened to it for 40 years and it never ceases to amaze me .
oh i so agree
Breath taking.

I used to hate listening to them when I was a kid because it was all my father ever listened to and now when I'm older I can't stop listening to them😂
great comment! Now my kids listen to them
Life's kinda 'funny' like that.
It works that way somehow, sometimes...
Same, now they make my heart happy and let my soul dance.
That's simply because truly talented musicians are becoming scarce and you realize now how good vocal harmony and tasteful guitar licks sound.
RIP David Crosby. Thank you for the music. You will never be forgotten 🙏
Thank you David for beautiful songs!! RIP!!
The man lived longer than he should have, David Crosby lived with reckless abandon as a rock star.
Certainly never will be forgotten.
..."they're finally make friends. Got rich. Was good!" Steve is genious😅
They will be listening to this music 1000 years from now. Thank you boys….R.I.P DC
After the years of youthful power plays, such mature mutual love. Go ahead, guys...Make me cry.
A legend has died today. David Crosby, fare thee well. You shall be missed.
The best part of being old is all the great music we got!
Well You speak out of my heart.
I've been listening to them for over 50 years

Look around me
I can see my life before me
Running rings around the way
It used to be
I am older now
I have more than what I wanted
But I wish that I had started
Long before I did
And there's so much time to make up
Everywhere you turn
Time we have wasted on the way
So much water moving
Underneath the bridge
Let the water come and carry us away
Oh when you were young
Did you question all the answers
Did you envy all the dancers
Who had all the nerve
Look round you know
You must go for what you wanted
Look at all my friends who did and got what they deserved
And there's so much time to make up
Everywhere you turn
Time we have wasted on the way
So much water moving
Underneath the bridge
Let the water come and carry us away
And there's so much love to make up
Everywhere you turn
Love we have wasted on the way
So much water moving
Underneath the bridge
Let the water come and carry us away
Let the water come and carry us away
