I have a 2011 Ecoboost with 306,000 miles in it so far. Here is a list of what I have had replaced.
    Brake pads and rotors
Timing set and all that goes with it.
    A/C compressor
    Oil sending unit
    Shocks
    Starter
Ball joint. Not that they were bad, just because.
    Headlight bulbs
    Water pump
A/C blend door motor. Several times
    Door wiring harness.
And the usual oil, tires and such.
I think that is pretty good for that many miles and 11 years old. I certainly can't complain

Mine has 102,000 and just had to replace the vacuum line to the 4wd system due to a hole. Then when the temps dropped below freezing it would lock into 4wd, so I waited for it to thaw and gently blew the line out with some air and cleared a decent amount of moisture from it. I know they've had four wheel drive issues, but this only happened when it was below freezing so I figured the water was freezing in the vacuum line causing it to not be able to correctly pull a vacuum. Other than that it's ran great besides my resonator rusting through. Since the system is always pulling a vacuum to keep it in two-wheel drive in the vent tubes are high up in the wheel wells, I figured some moisture could get sucked up in when driving in the rain. It doesn't affect the system when it's liquid because the liquid can move and still is able to pull a vacuum but when it freezes it blocks it.

    I have a 2013 STX with 150,000 miles (5L, 4WD). It is a good truck, but I think I've had more issues.
The multi-position switch went goofy. I'd turn the windshield wipers off, but they'd stay on in the lowest setting until I turned-off then re-started the truck. That was taken care of under warranty.
The water pump gave out at about 100,000 miles. That one pissed me off. It left me stranded for about 6 hours.
The stereo internal unit was a big problem. It cost me about 1000 shortly after the truck was out of warranty.
I've changed an O'ring at the upper coolant Y-fitting. That was easy, and not that messy.
I've changed the transmission cooler lines under the radiator and the engine. That was tough, there's not a whole lot of room between the transmission, engine and frame. Also, adding fluid to the transmission wasn't easy. The dipstick and fill point are under the truck. That took a syphon.
The thermostat was easy, but it was messy. A code reader was required to troubleshoot that problem.
For standard service, the brakes are easy.
I replaced the blower motor earlier this summer. Yeah, only 3 bolts, but I'm old. I had to act like a contortionist to reach them.
I haven't had to deal with shocks or suspension, but my truck is bone-stock in that regard.
Hopefully, I've corrected all of the weak-points, and the truck can last me another 150,000.
I bought it new in 2013, and I want to keep it running. The new trucks are so expensive that I wince at the idea of buying new again.

Most of the time when those T's leak that's going to be the o-rings. Ford had this idea that they wanted use square o-rings for some strange reason. I replaced mine with actual o-rings from Dorman. Haven't had another problem and wasted very little time and antifreeze.

It’s not the dash lights draining the battery it’s all the computers still powered up draining the battery. When it’s in park, after a certain amount of time the truck powers down and goes to sleep. Since the truck doesn’t know it’s in park with the bad switch it never goes to sleep.

GF bought her 13 new, 5.0 also.
Had tail shaft seal blow out around 75k but now bad. Covered under extended warranty.
Had battery die and replaced but didn't know about the 'reset' procedure for the monitor system.
Had the lower rad hose leaking at the fitted collar end. At the time they were replace entire $120 hose assy but now there's o-ring kits. Not a hard job either way and a lot of manufacturers use these now.
Pass window regulator cable went bad. Whole assembly is the way to go on replacement. Dealer part not cheap but do it yourself took me 30min and that was me being overly cautious. Worst part was when it went bad I was opening the window and near the bottom it just dropped hard. Didn't break but had to cover it overnight.
Rear power slider window seal went bad. We had a leak in heavy rain soaked rear headliner corners. Wasn't 3rd brake light but I did try a new one. FYI 3rd BL seal is 1pc to the lamp itself. U can find some aftermarket gasket seal solutions but stock it's 1 unit. Ours still leaked so we tested more and found out the rear window seal was the culprit.
Few days ago the rear driver's lock actuator went bye bye. Been on and off for weeks. $112 actuator and latch mechanism....it's 1pc. Also alot of manufacturers doing this these days. Dealer stocked it luckily. Picked up today so I get to have some weekend fun.
Oh and we are at 150k+ miles. I've done intake, exhaust, rims-tires and custom tune. Runs strong.

How you diggin the tires and wheels? Do you notice a difference in the ride. I have the platinum with the stock 20s been thinking about upgrading. BTW you can make a whole separate channel for wrigley and get mad views. Food for thought

    • @f1fiftyjimmy
      @f1fiftyjimmy  ปีที่แล้ว

These kenda klever’s are a little louder then the ridge grappler but not annoying like mud tires. I’m in Iowa so in winter the kenda’s are much better in snow. The ride isn’t horrible. It was little stiffer with the ridge grappler’s as they only came in a 12 ply tire in the 33x12.5 size.
I’ve never thought about doing a channel for Wrigley. Might have to think about that!

Havnt broken a valve spring yet? I did, used boss 302 valve springs to replace my exhaust valves. Used the stallion tool and didnt have to pull the cams.
Ive owned mine since new in 14 , has 160,000km
ive gone through a water pump(truck shut down immediately after it exploded)
I had another water pump start to weep out the bearing, replaced that aftermarket pump with a motorcraft unit. Have a spare with a metal pump wheel incase it goes again. Intake manifold when the exhaust valve spring broke melted internally. Just about every sensor involved with the emissions equipment fried after idling most of the day when it was a legit 46 degrees celcius with the ac on full blast . My cats went bad when my injectors started leaking, plugs and coils.
Had the y pipe for the coolant leak so i updated it with the newer part.
Both front wheel bearings, bottom ball joints, upper control arms sway bar links.
My rough country vertex coilovers are now squeaking and starting to leak after 2 years. Had to change a blower motor as well.
But it works nearly everyday for 12 hours for the last five years on forestry and oilfield roads and it gets driven hard!
Not bad for what its been through.it had 38,000km when i started this job so 100,000km of essentially offroad driving. I also fell asleep behind the wheel one night and hit the ditch at 100km per hour , woke up pulled it back on the road and found a good place to rest for an hour. Not proud that it happened but proves how tough these trucks are. Literally the toughest half tons ever made, little shit may break but "a ford will run slightly broken forever" quote by the car wizard who doesnt like fords lol

Just bought a 2013 f150 5.0 lariat. 236k miles. Its solid. Love the truck. Currently having transmission issues. Will have to replace the valve body.
I changed the tranny fluid, and i dont think it has ever been changed. I find it to be easy to work on 6r80 transmissions, especially if you have forscan.
I look forward to having it around for a while.
Ill be doing advanced maintenance on it. When i replace the brakes and rotors, ill be looking into new lines too.
Ill be replacing all the transmission components to the updated parts. Then ill be changing the dope in the rear axle. Other than that, upgrade toe dry rotted speajers, and i have something that will serve me well. Maintenance is key. Luckily the carfax had a good trail of maintenance visits to various ford shops.

I have another video talking about the parking switch failing. If you get some charge on your battery, check your cluster and see if your orange light is lit up on the P (parking light) if your truck is in park the P is not lit up then your shifter switch is bad and the cluster lights stay on 24/7

Noooo the plastic piece in the blower motor was your fresh air inlet door actuator nub. Its part of the mechanical door not the actuator.
