The 3.7. Ford's most understated and sadly ignored engine..... A real shame actually..

The truck I drive for work is a 2011 Ford F150 3.7 with 479,700 miles and it all original

There's a guy on tiktok with a 2011 f150 with 1.2 million on a 3.7. Mine has 350k with a race tune and it woke it up a lot and moves out of its way and pulls like a train. Definitely a power train I recommend as a mechanic.

Rich I wish I had 3 guys like you in my shop. Honest, hardworking, skilled, and just a good solid dude. I strive to run my shop like I'm servicing my mom's car every job.

Have you had any experience with the transmission not syncing correctly? I have a 2012 F150 3.7, and the transmission jerks when shifting, especially when merging onto the freeway. Also at cruising speeds, 65-70mph, and it randomly decides to do some type of transmission kick. Took it to dealer and they replaced some syncing sensor but it continues to do it. Any advice on this?

My son's 2018 Chevy Silverado 4.3 Eco tech V6 walks away from my 2016 silverado 5.3 Eco tech V8. Never underestimate the little engines.

I bought my old work truck. 2012 3.7 F150, for cheap. My work had owned it from about 150k. Beat on it like a bad dog. It got oil changed every 5k, had a few issues with brakes and the rear end. But it never had the engine touched outside of oil changes and 1 set of spark plugs. It’s at 320k, and runs like a clock.

I watched this because I have a 3.7 Mustang. Sounds very encouraging. I'm glad my water pump isn't in the oil pan (like the FWD version).

My 2015 Transit with 3.7 v6 is at 178k so far no major issues, regular maintenance.

This engine was designed by Mazda in japan in 2007, look it up

3.7 NA is the sensible truck for most people. If your ego isn't tied to the truck and your only use it for groceries and taking kids to school, it is the engine to get. Heck most of the towing needs can be done with it.

I have actually been looking at a few trucks with this set up. I already know this videos going to be very beneficial, as they continue to be.

"Act like you want the truck to last forever, and the truck will last forever." Yep, everything you've told us...all the videos, countless tips, advice...all pretty much summed up in that one statement. Absolutely perfect advice. Thank you, sir!!

Almost at 168K with my 2014 3.7. I love it.

I test-drove a 3.7NA in 2013. It was torquey as all get-out. I was very surprised that a V6 felt that way in a full-size truck. Ultimately went with the 3.5 EB due to my towing needs, but the 3.7 NA was surprising.

  • @Jbourbz

Thanks a lot for all the info man! With the sky high prices of the Tacoma right now, I think this truck is the best option for my lifestyle!

  • @ghostedrebasser5357

I love my 3.7l f150 and yeah it really dosnt push that weight around but I love how aggressive and mean the engine sounds so far It has 185k miles on it and I've had zero problems with it. Some people just don't understand as long as you take care of your vehicle it will take care of you

  • @backcountrypipe

Your videos and opinions are top notch.

  • @armandoreyna7312

My daily driver is a 2013 f150 reg cab with the 3.7L. It has 130k miles. Never had a check engine light. Only thing replaced was the water pump at 100k because it was starting to leak. Recently, i can hear the chain rattle on start up, but other than that, its been very good to me.
