      Hi starwarslads are you guys watching party of Star Wars bad batch?

    • @starwarslads
      @starwarslads  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hi there, we don't watch the episodes with our fans, it's not something we're that interested in currently (but it could change with enough demand!)
      If a show releases at midnight, we do a LIVE Review + Q&A in the evening, which we've been doing with The Bad Batch S3. If an episode comes out in the evening, we do our LIVE Review + Q&A right after we finish watching the episode. Hope that helps!

      We are too! Need more "Tales of" series to happen. Sanak prays we get the original Tales of the Jedi adapted in some way, but it will probably be a long shot with how careful Lucasfilm has been around the Old Republic era as a whole.

      Appreciate it, the timeline does help us consider what can happen per episode for Barriss and Morgan, respectively.

      It would be nice for Canon to touch on her healing skills. Since basically the only Barriss stories that are considered Canon are the stories from The Clone Wars (08-20) TV series, we’ve lost a lot of her stories where she uses her unique Force abilities from the MedStar Duology and other EU material. Like you were saying, it would be cool to see them experiment with those powers again but for a dark purpose

    Such a nice surprise. It looks beautiful. It reinforces my trust in near future animated storytelling. We will have some of this between ROTJ and TFA. We got the new republic enforcers here too. It felt great to have the fourth sister from Kenobi back here, help to make everything connected, as it should be. I am interested in both stories. More about Morgan is more than welcome and it will add more to Ahsoka show. And Barris coming into Inquisitorious is most interesting to me.. more inquisitor lore and perhaps a hint of Reva.. I would love that. Animation opens so many doors for storytelling and legacy characters. Sure the season will feel short but its a nice format to have important story beats without long waits as if it were a tv show animated or live action. One of my interest is that the eps can fit well in chronological order. I talk about the clone wars one.. but we will see. Greetings guys and happy to share first reactions with you. Keep up the good work!

      @starwarslads  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yeah it'll be cool to see if we can see him alive and as some sort of Nightsister magik spirit. Do you mean the 4th Sister with Barris from Obi-Wan Kenobi? If so, it'll be good to see her actually be a character here!

    I hope filoni and company picked these two characters because they actually have interesting stories to tell, and not just playing with their beloved original characters.
    Aka I’m wondering why we still don’t have Luke Skywalker, Rey etc in animation

    • @starwarslads
      @starwarslads  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Definitely a fair question to ask, but he probably doesn't think their stories are worth telling in animation shorts. With Star Wars Celebration in Japan for 2025, and the success of the two Visions seasons, maybe a Luke or Rey or someone notable gets their full length anime!

    You think this season will replace tales of the Jedi season 2?

    • @starwarslads
      @starwarslads  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Filoni wants to flesh out his more recent characters and the demand for the Bariss story with Tales of the Empire first it seems, so maybe we do get a Tales of the Jedi S2 eventually, but it may not deal with prequel Jedi again.

    This looks interesting.
    Morgan Elsbeth was kind of a nothing character in Mando and Ahsoka but hey if they can rectify that here good for them. Kinda worried about Thrawn given how badly Filoni mishandled him in Ahsoka but hopefully since he's not the main villain of this show they won't get as many opportunities to ruin him. Hopefully we get a flashback to the massacre that gives us a chance to see badass Grievous again, since killing the Nightsisters was like one of the only badass moments he got in TCW (and even then it was undercut by Ventress kicking his ass). This definitely happens sometime during the 1st Thrawn book since he gets promoted to Grand Admiral right at the end of that book, so an Eli Vanto cameo would be awesome.
    As for Barriss' story, while I have been one of the ones clamoring to see what the hell happened to her after TCW, I'm not sure how I feel about yet another generic Inquisitor story after Trilla and Reva and the other Inquisitor storylines in the Vader comics, all of which touch on similar beats (though Trilla's story is by far the best out of those). Not to mention the fact that if Barriss' big complaint was that the Jedi sided with a corrupt militaristic Republic, you'd think she'd be against an even more corrupt even more militaristic Empire. I feel like it might've been more interesting if she'd been a bad guy darksider working against the Empire. Obviously she could be forced into it, but again, it'd just re-tread Trilla and Reva's stories since they were in a very similar position aside from the terrorism part. Hopefully they can take Barriss' ideological differences with the Empire and avoid retreading similar beats to all the other Inquisitor stories out there and actually do something interesting there rather than just having her generically go down the dark side path, have like a moment of redemption here or there, and then either get killed by Vader or leave the Empire to show up in some other spinoff.

      Appreciate you sharing your thoughts, even if we respectfully disagree. Thrawn should not have too big of a role here, but we think there was some solid setup for him in Ahsoka, and definitely on par it better than his Rebels version (which was also good). Morgan wasn't much in The Mandalorian, we agree, but she definitely was a scene stealer and pretty solid for a character in their last act. Morgan can also be a way to expand on the Nightsister and witch clans of Dathomir in early EU. It does depends on if you liked the Ahsoka show or not, but we definitely do despite it tapering a bit off at the end (Filoni definitely should get a writer's room, him and Favreau are stretched too thin).
      Barriss is beloved in the EU but it's very different than in TCW. There's not much explanation for why she's turned against the Jedi Order, so there surely has to be necessary backstory. Trill and Reva are VERY different characters, both with some significant strengths and noticeable flaws, but Barriss has so many hints with her relationship to Anakin, the return of Ventress, Luminara's MIA and not outright KIA status in Rebels, and more. She could still have a tragic end and not like the Empire and its ideology, but there's also the possibilty get story is only starting.

    here hoping with no rebel heroes thrawn can be a tactical genius and not lose all the time

    • @starwarslads
      @starwarslads  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thrawn lost in Rebels to literal extragalactic space whales being called up by a Jedi, something his tactical genius and logic wasn't prepared for. A Jedi beating Thrawn isn't unprecedented, and despite working with Anakin at one point, Thrawn's not someone who has a clear read until Rebels is over. He absolutely defeats everyone in his novels and he halted the formation of the Rebel Alliance by destroying their first real unified attempt on Atollon, and it was his incompetent officers and the enigmatic Bendu that kept him from crushing the Rebels in totality.
      He also "wins" in Ahsoka by trapping Sabine and Ahsoka (and no Baylan and Shin to add dark side complications he can't control like C'Baoth) and escaping a near-death sentence with the Grand Mothers (so now he has the Force to call upon and counter Jedi), and even if Ezra snuck on board it was for most part a success for him with how limited his resources were.
      Thrawn is back in the galaxy with the greatest Jedi of his era in Luke and an even more unorthodox one just returned in Ezra, so he will have trouble, but the Nightsister equation will allow him to theoretically have more range and usage of the Force to counter the two than he ever had in Legends. And at the end of the day, Ackbar with Hera will be his naval matchup, and at the Battle of Bilbringi in Legends, Thrawn was winning against Ackbar and his forces by correctly predicting their feint at Tangrene and hammering their surprised warships at Bilbringi, but the Smuggler's Alliance trying to steal crystal gravtraps and Rukh's betrayal caught him by surprise, and led to his death.
      Thrawn can be beaten by Jedi and normal people, he just needs to have things happen unexpectedly and without counters at ready. Seeing how Tales of the Empire is at the early days of his Imperial service, he will easily win if there's any battle shown, and the enemy will be of the weaker sort, like pirates, smugglers, and renegade Imperials.

    It’s dumb it’s supposed to be about Older empire like tales of the Jedi this is just new Star Wars storylines. Not old empire tales.. stupid. Just Disney being Disney.

    • @starwarslads
      @starwarslads  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      We don't know what it covers, but who's to say we won't see a lot about what happens during the Imperial reign? Maybe stuff just past where we are in The Bad Batch, and maybe even up to where the Empire is right after Battle of Endor?
      If you mean Sith Empire and the Dark Horse Tales of the Jedi being adapted, we'd love that! Sanak's picture in our banner is him with the Ulic Quel-Droma robes since he's one of his favorite ever Star Wars characters!
      That being said, that era being only a couple of decades before Knights of the Old Republic, and those two games being vastly different and themselves a hundred years before SWTOR (with no real resolution until the Revan novel), and then having the Bane trilogy be thousands of years after makes it hard to adapt or make any story with that timeline. It needs to be better condensed and its gaps with some meaningful and new story.
      Hope that helps, not entirely sure why Disney is at fault here for Filoni finishing a character's story from George Lucas's last franchise involvement, and another character who can provide a lot of background for Imperial Thrawn and make Grievous scary again in Canon.
