Hello my friend im watching again your amazing video, Such an amazing scenery Whinlatter Forest Circular Walk. I feel so happy watching your footage! I look forward to your beautiful next work!
Yeah I guess the felling of all the trees over the centuries does have some positives. You could see for absolute miles on this day. I'm hoping to summit the big hill in Scotland (Criffel) you could see in the distance some time later this month. Thank you very much for watching 🙂👍Paul
Such a wonderful walk through Whinlatter Forest. Very nice well-maintained path. Stunning views of the lake, mountains and landscapes. Beautiful blue sky and lovely cloud formations. This area is really impressive. You showcased it perfectly. Excellent share my friend.
When I watch your videos all the time, I realize the greatness of nature and how small humans are.👍👍 You also offer me a wonderful view today.😍😍 Everything is beautiful. Thank you for your hard work.❤❤
I'm glad you enjoyed the captured views. This was a fabulous few hours out with super views over the lake. Thank you very much for watching. I hope you're keeping well 👍🙂
Hi friend Paul!! This is a beautiful and truly stunning circular walk through Whinlatter Forest. Beautiful views around. Fantastic trail!! I really liked the view of the lake. This hiking is a truly amazing experience!! 💯L51
Hello Paul. Best weather and a great route and landscape. Fantastic paths and views. There isn't much forest there for a forest😁😁. Great tour. Thank you very much and have a nice rest of the week. Greetings Alex and Alex
Hello my friend Sir Paul, what a beautiful nature's view, nice hiking adventure this place is so cool and refreshing thank you for sharing have a blessed Sunday 🙏
This sure was a fabulous few hours out hiking. You have to make the most of the weather and those clear views. i'm glad you enjoyed the views I managed to capture. Thank you very much for watching 👍🙂Paul
Hi Aishu, I'm glad you enjoyed the captured views. It sure a great weather day for very clear views with a lot of hermit friendly peaceful spots. Thank you very much for watching. I hope you're keeping well 👍🙂Paul
I sure got lucky with the weather on this one even if a tad windy. I could never get tired of looking upon those views of Bassenthwaite lake from the summit of Barf 🙂
Woop woop to free parking especially on a bank holiday! We always love joining you on a Lake District hike! The bird song is lovely and what a great day weather wise! Lovely wooded area! Kudos to your legs after all the walking and running! Stunning tops! Stylish style crossing! Stunning views for miles! Barf definitely doesn’t live by its name 🤢 it’s gorgeous! You cross those stiles with style 👍 360 views at grey stones were lush! Enjoyed this a lot! Now we want to go to the Lakes! 👍
I couldn't believe I got a free spot at 10.30 on a Bank Holiday. There were a few spots remaining too. Parking at the Whinlatter Visitors Centre is extortion. I thought I may as well do all 5 with such lovely weather even if a tad windy in places. Got to keep the legs moving, especially when away. View off Barf must be one of the best views in the Lake District and I got one of the best days for it. Most people miss out Graystones or don't realise it's there just along the ridge. For them it means they need to go back and bag the lonesome Wainwright should they want to complete them. I'm glad you enjoyed the video and the captured views. I experimented a bit with my wireless mic over some of the stiles. Thank you very much for watching 🙂👍Paul
I'd been up on Barf before to see those views over Bassenthwaite lake but before I started vlogging. It was great return on such a clear day to capture them despite the wind. I could never get tired of that view 🙂
Hi Mario, I'm glad you enjoyed the views. It was a super few hours out and could never get tired of those views over Bassenthwaite lake. Thank you very much for watching. I hope you're keeping well 🙂Paul
Hello, great video, very beautiful places, wonderful nature, I enjoyed spending time with you, thank you for sharing the interesting walking tour, friendly like, good luck and all the best, have a good day🥰🥰🤗🤗
I hope you managed to get out on some hikes this Summer. I should have a few more coming up soon. Thank you very much for the thumbs up. Have a great weekend 👍Paul
I'm glad you enjoyed the captured views. It was a great few hours hiking with those super clear views. You will have to let me know should you ever decide to travel this way. Thank you very much for watching 👍🙂Paul
Beautiful hike with those "smashing" views Joking Hermit! It looks like you hit a great day weather-wise as well. Love seeing the cloud formations and the sheep 24:41! Now that I have watched your entire hike; I believe it's time for a beer! :-) Thank you for another wonderful share! Happy week! Tracy
Hi Tracy, I'm glad you enjoyed those smashing views I managed to capture. I think I said smashing a few times 😂 The weather was spot on for hiking with those super clear views. I would have done a timelapse of those clouds if it wasn't quite so windy! You could have enjoyed a crate of beer whilst watching. Thank you very much for watching. I hope the beer went down well 🙂👍The Joking Hermit
Hi Paul. I’m glad you explained in the description what wainwright means…there has been words in the past I didn’t know what they were but I learned now . Scrambling is another lol. It looks amazing there as you go thru the forest. Beautiful hike in a beautiful place. Thank you. 👍😊🇨🇦
Hi Christine, I thought I would add that in the description for people who even read them. Obviously you're one of them. I do get asked what a Wainwright is so thought I'd answer it. This walk was a super few hours out and very clear views which is a hikers dream. I'm glad you enjoyed the captured views. I might be scrambling soon to watch out for a description on that one. Thank you very much for watching. Have a great week ahead 🙂👍 Paul
Look a fab hike Paul and considering its was a bank holiday you got a nice bit of solitude 👍 Blue sky big fells fabulous mate The lakes ☀️🫶 Best regards Simon 🤠👍🏔️
Hi Simon, I sure got lucky with the weather and it was pretty quiet for a Bank Holiday. I was very surprised to get a free parking spot mid-morning too. It was great to be back bagging a few Wainwrights. Thank you very much for watching. Have a great weekend 👍🙂Paul
Hello from France . I discovered the channel, superb videos on your channel, really, one more subscriber out of solidarity between nature lovers and TH-camrs . Laurent🙂👍
Yeah in the UK Barf is slang for throwing up after too much alcohol and the like. Quite a strange name for a fell top but super views from it all the same. I'm glad you enjoyed the captured views. Thank you very much for watching 🙂
Omg i had to double taje at some of these views ❤ it almost doesn't look real, its so beautiful 😍 i would love to climb and explore this area myself one day 😊
This was an awesome few hours out and I could never get tired of those lake views. I'm glad you enjoyed the views I managed to capture from this day of clear views for miles. Thank you very much for watching. Have a great week ahead 🙂👍
Hi Paul, looks cold but still so lovely and the views are amazing. Loved the singing birds so much. Wet haven't done any of these places, must attempt one day. Glad it wasn't as boggy as you thought ! ~ Anna 👍
Hi Anna, it was fairly warm but that wind did bring a bit of chill factor. I was fine after putting the windproof jacket on tho. This part of the Lakes is lovely and you should try to get over sometime and invade England 🙂 I was surprised it wasn't boggy. A nice surprise for sure. Thank you very much for watching 🙂👍 Paul
Beautiful way to spend Easter Sunday, Paul. Well all except the barfing part! 🤮🤣We loved the hike and it's stunning views. Nice way to cross over the fence too. Pretty area and we just don't have to "take it from you!" We could see it for ourselves!
Hi Dave n Kathy, I agree it's a great way to spend Easter Sunday. Thankfully I wasn't doing the slang term for barf and the views off Barf were quite magnificent. I'm glad you enjoyed the views I managed to capture. It sure was a clear day for the views. Thank you very much for coming along. Have a great week 👍🙂Paul
Good to see you out Hermit nice day for a hike . Soon got windy and cold the higher you got . Good 360 views surprised how far you could see . Cool Wander through the woods up to Lords seat . Awesome views of derwent water. It looked busy towards the top. Well done reaching the top. Good video thanks for sharing with us Hermit 👍
I got real lucky with the weather on this long weekend and on this day the views were super clear. The only downside was the wind. I'm glad you enjoyed the views I managed to capture. Thanks you very much for coming along 🙂👍Paul
Hello Paul, wow that was such a lovely opening view. Free car park what a bonus, a lovely sunny day for a hike. The path through the woods looked a little tricky but lovely trees and bird song. The views from the top with each Wainwright looked amazing. The winds got up a little. The scenery to Lord Seat looked awesome. The wind sounded cold. Wow! you did really well with all the climbing, made me feel breathless watching you. Back to the car, Great video, take care x Julie and Tony x
Hi Julie n Tony, I'm glad you enjoyed the captured views. It was a great weather day for clear views and the views off Barf were outstanding. It was a tad windy but I was pretty warm especially with my windproof jacket on. Thank you very much for taking time to watch 👍🙂Paul
Hey Paul! Sorry have been abit behind youtube recently, swamped with work haha. Catching up with your videos. From the intro itself, I knew it was going to be awesome. Love the shot of the sheep running across the meadow with the stunning view of the hills in the background. Enjoyed the view up Brown How and that interesting shelter ruin on the top. And wow, how many miles did you cover in one day. I would faint on one of the hills ahha. Love the view of the lake from the summit. Enjoyed the walk! Thanks for showing us around ❤
Hi Lina, no need to apologise. I've recently taken a few weeks off from all things YT myself. I'm glad you enjoyed the intro. This was one was back to hiking. I enjoy walking for miles it works up a beer thirst. The view of Basenthwaite lake sure was the best bit. Thank you very much for coming along. Have a great up and coming weekend 🙂👍Paul
Hi, Paul Sorry that it took a while to drop my comments I still have problem disappearing. Pretty sky to start with this trekking. Wowowo 4:04...steeeeeeep..what else you surprise me!..hahahah I noticed the UK has totally different vegetations in the mountains. what are those brown plant around the ridge?7:36 As you go, the winds get stronger, I reckon. hahah at Lord Seat..oh my, gusty winds...I did not know the trails are pet friendly! wow, Hard to hear you, Paul at barf...what? Graystones surely brought challenges at the finale. hahahcute sheep are on your side cheering you up 24:45 You knocked down 5 cairns in a day. Wow How many miles in all??? I will be suffering from muscle pain. hahah Well done, Paul. As always your flawless documentation is superb! Get some suntan.... Look forward to next episode.
Hi Ms Kayak, that's OK. It had been a while since I was hiking up steep hills so it was great to be back. I think that brown vegetation is heather but I'm no expert on it to be honest. It did get pretty windy on Lord's Seat and Barf. I did have a dead cat over my microphone but it was super, super windy up there. And because there is proper paths up to both these summits they're very pet friendly. Pets sometimes do better than humans tho. This was about 10 miles and my 4th day in a row hiking the mountains. It was over the Easter weekend. I'm glad you enjoyed the hike and the views. Oh and me rambling on. Thank you very much for watching 👍🙂Paul
You are getting quite awesome at the intros. The music and the cuts were quite epic. Have you noticed some positive impact on the retention within the first moments from this? I am also appreciating the hiking trail network in Switzerland more and more, watching zou search for paths. The top of Whinlatter would also be hard to recognize without the stones on top. Looks like a few almost equal hills around.
Thanks. Now I just need to work on the rest of the video 😂 Well the first 30s retention isn't brilliant on it but not bad at around 66%. The last intro you commented on, the Schafberg one, is at close to 80% and that's with over 2k views at present. You sure have to have your wits about you finding the paths and trails in the Lake District and even more so in Scotland. As you can see some of the summit markers can be a bit obscure. Some have multiple markers which made me go wrong a couple of days earlier on a summit. All good experience tho. Thank you very much for watching. Have a great weekend 🙂👍 Paul
10:30 !! Lazy bones 😆😃😄 haha Well seemed it was your lucky day, a free parking spot half way through the day 😁 and superb weather with amazing clear views. You found a great route to pick off a few Wainwrights, even if you had done most of them before, it's all about enjoying the day, & so quiet ! . The views you captured over Bassenthwaite to Skiddaw are some of the best I've seen ... so clear with fabulous colour depth and great cloud formations adding extra interest. That Scottish coast is beautiful too ...I was hiking there a couple of days ago though the reverse view back to the Lake District was hazy the day I went. Pleased you took care on Barf & didn't become a MR statistic, oooo you looked to be getting a bit close to the edge 😯Greystones oh my .. so steep on sore legs well done. A fabulous day out perfectly shot 😊
Well the clocks did go forward 1 hour over night and I had to have breakfast and check out of my B&B ha ha. I got lucky again with the weather as it was super clear all day if not a bit windy. The first time I did them I had a bit of clag. I could have stay on Barf or the slopes of Barf all day with those views. I had to cut a lot out of the video as I got so much footage up there ha ha. I didn't get too close to the edge but close enough. That route down off Graystones without walking poles was a bit airy at times but made it down in one piece. I'm glad you enjoyed the round. Thank you very much for watching. Have a great week 🙂👍Paul
Barf sounds like something I'd do after too many beers. Enjoyed the editing on this one Paul, with the voiceovers laid over the action shots. Try to put a few of those in myself if it's a hiking video. They say the Lakes is overcrowded, well it certainly didn't look it that day! Very hermit-friendly and decent weather to boot (the video doesn't show how windy it is though, guess youve got a good mic 😂) cracking walk Paul, btw were the chapters done by yourself or auto from youtube?
Hi Matt, yeah Barf sure is a weird name for a fell top. Thankfully I have not barfed after beer for many years. For the voice overs I was experimenting with my wireless mic and tried a bit of different editing so I'm glad you liked it. I will probably experiment a bit more in future videos. The mic also holds up pretty well in the very gusty wind. At times I sounded like I was shouting because I could not hear myself talk over the wind. The Lakes can be busy but it depends where you go. The last 2 summits a lot of people miss out, especially the last one. Even more reason to go to them to my mind. And I did the chapters but didn't put in hiking to here, hiking to there and just lumped going to the summit as one. Then again maybe I got my timings out a bit? I find doing chapters helps get the videos higher up in the search rankings for which, on average, I get 35-45% of my video views from. Thank you very much for watching 🙂Paul
that little path off the path is quite narrow and lovely, don't bonk the camera! 😁nice and hermit-y this one. i laughed when you said "i'm sure it's fine," after talking about not seeing anything saying you couldn't. did i miss you saying how long this quintuple bagging expedition was? one of my favorite things about the views you get is seeing the shadows of the clouds one the lands below. it's such cool lighting. but why are they named after alfred wainwright? also, 5 in one go. woot woot! hope it was worth pushing through the lingering soreness especially with how steep some of it was. have a great week, paul! 🛴❤
Hi Anne, this was quite hermit friendly for a lot of the hike. Oh yeah I'm sure I'd be fine to trespass ha ha. Just as well I wasn't naughty. Well they're called Wainwrights cos Alfred Wainwright wrote a number of illustrated books about them and how to get to the summit of them. This was mainly before any paths existed to get to their summits I've been known to do 9 or 10 in one go but 5 is quite a haul. A pity I'd already done 4 of them ha ha. And yeah I always hammer my legs when I'm away. Better to keep them moving. This hike was just short of 10 miles and around 2850 feet of climbing so not too bad ha ha. Thank you very much for watching. Have a great week 👍🙂 Paul
So has it changed much since 2 or 3 yrs ago? As long as you're pointing, right direction or not, that's all that matters. Did you get a new mic? I can hear you very well despite the wind. I wonder who named Barf ? Are those French Bulldogs at Lords Seat?
Lola heard you talking and asked if I'm listening to a mystery 😂. Fun to watch, glad you made it down on your feet, not your back. Certainly not for faint-hearted.
Well I always add my own captions on all my videos now. I know TH-cam has trouble deciphering my chit chat and perhaps some people watching my videos (IJ 😂). The English Northern accent and mines not that broad 😂
Good idea to go hiking on a holiday when parking is free and you don't have to deal with crowds. "If you go out in the woods today..." how many times have I said that when I'm alone in a creepy area of the forest. That is a nice shale pathway they put in. Fabulous hike, enjoyed! 👍👍🏔🏔🌄
Ah I got lucky with the free parking when I thought it would be full. I do like my peaceful walks away from people. This one wasn't too bad for people. I wasn't in the woods for too long and the shale path sure was better than the bog i had to cross last time. Thank you very much for watching. Have a great weekend 👍🙂

Bobcats may be afraid of seeing wild boars, even though they are small
Great hike, lovely footage. Thank you for sharing 👍
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching 👍
Hi, Paul
Sorry that it took a while to drop my comments I still have problem disappearing.
Pretty sky to start with this trekking. Wowowo 4:04...steeeeeeep..what else you surprise me!..hahahah
I noticed the UK has totally different vegetations in the mountains. what are those brown plant around the ridge?7:36
As you go, the winds get stronger, I reckon. hahah at Lord Seat..oh my, gusty winds...I did not know the trails are pet friendly!
wow, Hard to hear you, Paul at barf...what?
Graystones surely brought challenges at the finale. hahahcute sheep are on your side cheering you up 24:45
You knocked down 5 cairns in a day. Wow How many miles in all??? I will be suffering from muscle pain. hahah
Well done, Paul.
Good trip
Fantastic walk 👍
Thanks 👍

@@TheHikingHermit 10 miles and that much elevation sounds like quite a jaunt to me! also... 9 or 10? don't hurt yourself 😁
Helllooooo Paul!
I'm so grateful for the automated captions!!😂
So has it changed much since 2 or 3 yrs ago?
As long as you're pointing, right direction or not, that's all that matters. Did you get a new mic? I can hear you very well despite the wind. I wonder who named Barf ?
Are those French Bulldogs at Lords Seat?
Lola heard you talking and asked if I'm listening to a mystery 😂.
Fun to watch, glad you made it down on your feet, not your back. Certainly not for faint-hearted.
Hello IJ 🙂
Well I always add my own captions on all my videos now. I know TH-cam has trouble deciphering my chit chat and perhaps some people watching my videos (IJ 😂). The English Northern accent and mines not that broad 😂
Your videos are amazing. I really like it. I am a new subscriber to your channel. Can I talk with you Bro?
Can i talk with you bro
