The honest answer to that is no one. The magic of that show was Phil and Holly and while Phil could easily be replaced, the taint he left on the show and poor Holly as co-host might be irreparable.
Sorry, but the days of This Morning are beyond numbered once Schofe's affair broke ground in the media. Complete death nail in the coffin, if you will.
It tickled me to hear Eamonn Holmes call Schofield a narcissist. Takes one to know one, Eamonn.. It really sucks that Holly had to give up her job and go into hiding for her own safety before the dust had even settled over the Schofield fiasco. I wish her and her family well...
I actually hated all the bs with Holly acting so wholesome when she was also working with Leigh Frances - can’t stand him or his humour. Phil and Holly were so smug but also thought everyone thought they were adorable. We didn’t think they were adorable at all. The whole show is patronising and corrupt with a constant agenda. Can’t stand Dermot either - they’ll never give an opinion, the crap they all spouted during covid was unforgivable. I loved Eamon but thy killed him off for going against the narrative or even daring to question it, I’m pretty sure that’s why Ruth left him, probably thought he was unhinged because he dared to think critically about anything. The show just feels like pure propaganda. I like Rylan. I liked when he questioned that dr’s sanity about the nhs asking men if they were pregnant - bet he got into trouble for that. The show assumes everyone is stupid. And Holly asking if we were ok? 😂 FO! 🤮🤮🤮
@@AshleyS60 well it would have been because at least it would have been real! I mean, it was a bit egocentric to ask us if we were all ok like we’d survived a natural bloody disaster! It wasn’t her most authentic moment and I think most people just felt really bloody patronised. Everyone had a lot going on in their lives, especially after covid and all our family members who died, my mum being one, and she’s asking if we’re ok about a load of nonsense. When she didn’t actually care, she was just trying to save herself tbh. I’d have actually quite liked her if she’d said F you all!
Philip's behaviour is classic narcissism. Blaming someone else and trying to paint yourself as the victim when you were so clearly the culprit 🙄🙄 not a great way to stage a comeback!
What pisses me off is how much these people make. Alright for them to make a mistake still get full pay the rest of us if that happens to us we would get suspended or fired without pay
Philip Schofield's problem is that he is incapable of understanding that when you're a CO-HOST, your job is that of a teammate and not the center of attention.
The person I feel the most sorry for is that younger lad. His entire career was completely destroyed beyond all doubt because of someone else. He didn't deserve that.
The hosts are as white bread and self-involved and overpaid as the hosts we have over here in the US. And I’m guessing the scandals are so overblown for the same reason they are here: morning shows have HUGE advertising money so they are the network’s cash cow. However, Queuegate (horrible name) is a new level of overblown stupidity. The complainants sound like a bunch of petulant children.
Cat and Ben are doing a job to be fair, it was a bit bland at first but now they've found their flow. Now Steph's Packed Lunch on Channel 4 was a great programme 🙌
Weird. Everyone was saying Scholfield wanted to be centre of attention. Also, Schofiled was a gr00-mer. Pretty sure Holmes was more annoyed about that than anything else.
Honestly most of these controversies were blown way out of proportion. Phillips’s relationship with the male runner especially was. As a gay man myself, in my mid 20s, I prefer dating guys in their late 40s to mid 60s. Lots of us gays like age gap relations and are comfortable with them. I can understand they aren’t for everyone. But calling Schofield a gr****r doesn’t feel right. A narcissist, yes. But Eamon also was one. He was always hogging the spotlight and putting Ruth down. I hope she got rid of her stair lift while he was away with his dolly bird. Anyway, this show is for the elderly, unemployed and stay at home mums - I’ll never understand why people get so caught up on it and why the drama is blown out of proportion.
You are right in the last paragraph, I could watch these shows way back in the day when I used to work only in the evenings and had the rest of the day to myself then I started to work longer hours and had no time for this, then we got smart phones and that’s how I now watch some parts that interest me of these shows, I never cared too much about the presenters I am more interested in the stories of the people that go on there.
Holly and Schofield were fun to watch - but once I learned of Philip's sick ways - it ruined all the fun moments. Schofield is to only to blame himself.
Should the programme be taken off the airwaves? Perhaps. Can it be replaced? No. Do ITV want 90 minutes of nothing? No. Can they extend Lorraine by 45 minutes and Loose Women by 45 minutes? No. Therefore it will not be taken off the airwaves
Ohhh they can loose them shows and be replaced with newer and fresher shows with brand new presenters. Otherwise they will just run their current shows to the ground and beat them like dead horses, which would be a foolish move.
American here. I watch clips of "Lorraine", "GMB" and "This Morning" on TH-cam. I don't really know the feel the UK has for these programs. It just seems to be these morning hosts are all in competition with each other. They seem to be jealous of the other for fame, exposure and maybe money. There are bigger things than if Holly skipped the queue at the Queen's funeral! That is just nothing to be bothered with. Perhaps small country, bigger "nothing" scandals? A storm in a teacup, as the Brits would say.
@@SuperEmilyW How interesting. I vacationed in Ocho Rios, Jamaica one year. I was waiting in the queue, for the front desk, when a British couple walked in, avoided the queue and took their place at the front desk whilst the rest of us just watched in horror. Interesting.

Yes but we British think queues don't apply on foreign soil. I'm being a little sarcastic but I have noticed out lot can be bad mannered while abroad generally speaking
What went wrong is men, men will always find a way to ruin things. Schofield's behaviour was not only deplorable but his attitude was and continues to be pathetic. Rather than take responsibility for his actions, he chose to play the victim and narcissistically blame others. And don't even mention Holmes, that man is an old bitter fool himself. Apart from the young man in the scandal, the person I feel the most sorry for is Holly. It seemed as if the media and public blamed her more than Phillip himself and to this day, there still isn't any proof that she knew. People just wanted an excuse to turn against the Nation's Sweetheart and they found one and ran with it. It goes to show that the public will always build someone up just to tear them down. TM isn't and hasn't been the same and it's such a shame cause it truly was so entertaining and iconic. That show died the day Holly left as far as I'm concerned.
This Morning is nothing but dead meat now. It’s days are numbered, and ITV can be better off cutting it’s losses by axing it completely. Either they’d fill in the 10am slot with Lorraine and Loose Women or they can create a new daytime magazine programme for the slot, that is hosted by the right people.
It's reassuring to hear that the 'great British public' who understood brexit so clearly aren't sucked in to fixating on autocue reading nitwits & obsessed with what is just a trivial tv show.
What needs to happen to shows like this morning not just this morning because BBC is no better. Is that they need to have all their pay cut why should we have to pay a licence fee to watch live television when all the spurt out is is utter crap.
Maybe ITV should just show repeats of classic comedies like On The Buses and Cannon & Ball... up against GMB... A bit like Channel 4 shows Frasier.. Just fill the gap with something more entertaining for those who actually (have to) watch morning and afternoon TV.
It's not scandalous, it's just crap since Richard and Judy left. Still I have always wondered what happened between Philip Schofield and Gordon The Gopher.
I'm just glad that Ruth finally woke up and saw the arrogant, narcissistic bully who was her husband. Eamonn Holmes is the opposite of charisma, warmth, and empathy.
