I have a Russian/Ukrainian heritage and spent a lot of last year traveling all across Russia where I asked many different women about what they were looking for in a partner, what qualities matter and which ones don't. It may seem intimidating being a foreigner and not knowing a word of Russian (you should probably work on that), but I hope this video will give you guys an idea of how to meet someone and also understand the basics of expectations when it comes to Russian dating culture.

That’s not what would stop a Russian woman - but laziness and absence of aspirations would. All my husband had was a £50k debt when we met in 1998. Now we’ve got two children, two good properties, three cats, lots of memberships (my favourite with Royal Opera House) and we’ve managed to put our children through private schools (although CLSG was a bit PAINFUL:)) So if you want to achieve anything in life a Russian wife would be a good driving force.

I am married to an amazing Russian woman from N. Novgorod (will be moving there soon). All that advice you gave is spot on. She is traditional in some ways and very open in others. I found the key to success with Russian women is to be confident (being emotionally strong is very important) and open be to learn alot. I had the benefit of coming from a Slavic family ( Russian and Polish) so most of Alina's advice was obvious.
Im dating an incredible Russian woman right now, its been over 4 months now and its going really well, ive made a couple of mistakes but i always seem to make things better, what she like best is my compassion, kindness, being treated to flowers regularly and being treated like a woman should be, she is truly amazing and hope it continues for a very very long time.... You're so awesome Alina. Been with my crazy Russian for 5 years now and I totally agree. They are special, loving, BEAUTIFUL and caring women. BUT .... Omg they are strong minded. I have said Happy Wife, Happy Life.. This is X10 for a Russian woman. Times ten for the ones that didn't get it. If you didn't get that, a Russian woman is NOT FOR YOU. They are very educated and proud. The reward is tremendous but the work is everyday. Remember !!!! They are Russian, or Ukrainian.. Not American . They are raised with tremendous family values. I have dated a russian woman: it was the cheapest date i have ever been to compared to the other western women i have dated. a coffee and a bouquet of roses. thats all. she was so feminine like from 1920's. it was the best date ever. nobody can top that. didn't work out because of the distance and corona virus
You wasted you money on those roses. They just leave them where you gave them and don't take them. That's my experience, anyway. It's an insult to your dignity. I've heard that women from Eastern Asia are much more ladylike and respectful to men. Pity I don't like their shape or faces as much as Eastern Europeans. What you really need is a woman with the attitude and values of Eastern Asian woman and the looks of a Russian. British women hate men's guts and they are fat, fake and full of themselves. They dress sloppily and show the bulges of fat oozing through their black leggings. Not a pretty sight, I can tell you.

In a lot of places, yes. It's weird. I come from the US midwest and its definitely more traditional here. But when I moved to California for a couple years... I dont know. It felt like the roles between men and women were just mixed up and confused.
It all has to do with social media. If the girl loves to take Instagram selfies, placing Facebook photos and tik tok then she even doesn’t know what traditional is. I would say then : leave her at a garbage can

was in Russia a few years, loved the trip, the culture, especially experiencing ballet at the Bolshoi theatre if you go to remote city in the far east where English speakers aren't as common, you will become famous because the locals want to meet new people but also improve there own English. i remember a young couple running a coffee van in Krasnoyarsk and they were so interested they invited me to sit in their van and have coffee and macaroons and chat... word of wisdom though, Russia is quite traditional when it comes to dating, marriage ec. the feminism movement really doesn't super exist there, although ive met a number of a super independent woman who don't believe in such old ways and think differently so it just depends who you meet

Ive dated a Russian woman before last 2019..Im from Philippines.What I notice is she likes to listen to my story about history of our country. She really like to take photos of herself, dress fashionably and yes to date a russian woman you must have confident..You must take control dont ask her where to go just lead the way.If she says she likes to go that place then take her there. I have a daughter in Ukraine, so I travel across to Ukraine on a regular basis (pre lock down as it were.) It is an amazing place, when I travel there I travel alone and where possible I drive my car car across from England, although my ex and I have split and are getting divorced, I still have fond memories. The women are so stunning but also not daft. I have been scammed as well as married to a Ukrainian (not the same one) it Has not put me off going. But before you go, please research where you are going especially if you are going to do a road trip. Ensure you have all the correct documents with you when you drive anywhere, be aware in Ukraine they have police checkpoints in random places where you have to slow down to about 25km ph at these they will stop people randomly. I was breathalysed by a cop in a small village near Kharkov, the only reason he stopped me was because we were in an English Land Rover, and although now I have a Ford Focus I still tend to stick out as my steering wheel is on the opposite side of the car lol. Even now after travelling there for over 9 years I still have a giggle when I speak in English to some one and a passer by stares goggle eyed at the foreigner. This won't happen in the big cities but I have a tendency to leave the beaten track so I can see the real side to the country. Also try if some how possible to learn at least a basic knowledge in Russian. It will help you no end. The locals seem to appreciate it more too.
@@davewarrillow7415 Thanks for the info :) I drive an Izusu Dmax so would also stick out like a sore thumb! Like you, i would tend to go off the beaten track and visit more rural areas. Young russian girl here in Ireland was teaching me some basic Russian, with varying degrees of success, before the lockdown. Trip will probably have to be postponed until next year now. However, still hopeful of a roadtrip to Norway and Sweden a little later in the year. I'm not too worried about being scammed as i really have no interest in dating, prefer being on my own really.

Born and raised in the UK i find myself feeling very alienated from the direction western society and culture are heading. I have been to Moskva twice, loved the city and the people were nice. i have traditional values and have realised that is is nearly impossible for me to find a lady from the west to marry. i have been on dating sites but not had any connection with Russian women on there. My preference would be to live in Russia long term. i noticed that Russians are not that big on English and i do not speak Russian which i find very frustrating as getting to know someone means being able to communicate with them at a fairly deep level. i also am not the clubbing or bar hopping type. i might plan another trip soon.
I know this is an older message, but there are a couple legitimate sites to meet Russian girls (only much older women and grannies are called woman in Russia). Never pay for letter writing sites. Scam! I earned a Russian degree but decades ago. So i was way out of practice. I met a beautiful and nirturing Moldovan girl who speaks Russian, Romanian and some english. She loved that I could speak some Russian to her and that I lived many years ago near her current metro station while visiting Russia. Start studying the language now. Especially in a city like here in Toronto - dating in the pre-corona world was incredibly tough.
Most of the women in Toronto don't appreciate men coming up to them and trying to start a conversation. I moved here 6 years ago and I can say it hand in heart.

Great video! Russian women are similar to women in my culture - speaking for myself I began to cook seriously at 11 years old. My mother is very nurturing and I seem to have acquired this trait. All the women in my family know how to cook and keep a home. Dresses were worn more than pants but I began to wear pants more since I have been living in Canada. I had a Russian classmate in my first semester of college and her parents were immigrants. She was feminine and spoke English without an accent but spoke perfect Russian too. The men are providers in my country of Zambia and women go 50/50 if they choose to. However, they are not romantic for the most part. I have heard of some women going straight from work to a date, I couldn't do it. I need to freshen up and dress accordingly 😊

Had a long distance relationship with a Moscow girl for over a year - I went to Moscow twice to spend time together but the long distance and a few other things got in the way. We met in person in Moscow in December 2018. How did it happen? I didn't go to meet girls I went because I have always been fascinated by Russia's history and it's culture. Meeting my ex was just a bonus.
All of Alina's tips are spot on. And yes the women, especially the more beautiful ones are strong willed:)
If you would like to socialise with Russian women I have more tips:
- Dress well. Spend a little more on nice shoes and polish them (women notice these details). Don't need to buy stupidly expensive clothes. Just decent quality and fit. NO LABELS on the clothes. H&M, Zara etc all have decent quality clothes at reasonable prices.
- Be confident - like Alina says but not in an arrogant caricature of a douchebag.
- You don't need to look like Brad Pitt to socialise with beautiful ladies but it doesn't hurt to get in shape. Russian women and women in general don't go for bodybuilder type guys. So get in shape.
- If you aren't used to dating feminine women - it can be a little overwhelming - just be cool and don't make a big deal out of it.
- Be genuinely interested in them and there culture. Read Tolstoy, Dostoevsky, Chekhov and books on Russian history. If you meet a group of girls try to get to know each of them equally but make it clear who you would like to get to know better. Aviod cliched questions and comments about Russians or commenting on politics.
- Have fun. It's an amazing country with an interesting, but traumatic past.
- Eye contact. My secret weapon - but there is a balance to it.
- More chivalry than dating Western women - open the door for her, get the car door for her.
- Equanimity. Women sometimes lose there minds. As a man it is your job to stay calm and wait for the storm to subside - which it will.
- Learn how to pronounce basic Russian words and Cryllic - should take you about 20 minutes, some of the letters are the same as in English. This goes a long way!
When it comes to internet dating or 'romance tours' don't do it! Massive scam alert. Many good men have been worked over by unscrupulous people. There are occasional success stories but I just would advise against it.

Hi Alina!! You are so absolutely correct in your analysis of dating Eastern European Woman! I have and was in Ukraine for 6 weeks to meet and also meet family of my date. I find that family is also an important subject to know when dating a woman. Besides showing your an alpha side per say. Ensure the Gent's know to have a complete interest in the woman's ideology and her mindset. I myself was not to successful, however I will always hold onto the experience and joy I had with her and in Ukraine! But I continue to keep my eyes open for the one I will eventually may make a life with!

I liked this video. I lived in Ukraine for 7 years and made several trips there at other times. Much of what you said is equally true of Ukrainian women. I am now engaged to a Russian girl. She was born in Samar but her family moved to Ukraine when she was a little girl. She speaks Russian and Ukrainian equally well but prefers Russian. Her family is very Russian and still, to a certain extent. yearns for Russia. Anyway, it took a while for me to understand the cultural differences between Ukrainian/Russian women and Western women. I found out very quickly that Russian women can be very difficult at times. At first I had no idea how to handle this. To say I was confused is an understatement. I learned and am comfortable dealing with most situations. Great video!

@Kevin Harris. Sorry it didn't work out. Marring someone from a different culture is difficult. While I don't like giving advice I will say that you must spend as much time together as possible before you commit. Not a couple of weeks like I see many men on the internet do. No marriage will survive without months and even years together before marriage. I understand that is almost impossible for men to do if they work. Good luck!
@@kokomo9764 we dated internationally for 2 years on vacations to countries that she allowed Ukranians. In 18 months we waited for Visa Approval to Australia. We get 9 months on a fiance visa to decide on marriage, I pity US guys only having 90 day Fiance visa. I simply thought we needed more time to resolve our indifference so we married but the visa process took control for a final decision. You need to live with someone "day in day out" to see compatibility. I ignored too many red flags in our courtship to begin with then the russian stubbornness and rudeness was the final straw. A strong marriage needs love , tenderness , devotion and persistence , not demands and daily negotiation. I know what a good relationship looks like and this was not.

I’ve been married for quite a few years to my Ukrainian wife and she’s incredible and does anything in the world for me. When a Ukrainian woman spends her highest value(which is money on you). That means she’s incredibly in love with you. That’s when you know she sees you as everything. Few men if any will learn of how to do this.
I’m Italian and I would expect the man to pay on the first date, then after in a relationship is different, I pay dinner or drinks sometimes to my partner and viceversa

I am here because I went out with a Russian girl last night and made a HUGE mistake:
I fully intended on paying for the dinner. I always do. Well, at the end, I pulled my wallet out and started getting my card out and asked, "Were you paying for dinner? Or me?" Totally joking.
Biggest. Mistake. Ever. She was not seeing the humor. At. All. She immediately pulled cash out and forced it on me. I refused. We end up outside to go walk and talk and she again forces the cash on me. This time into my pocket. I continue to insist 1) on paying and 2) that it was simply a joke. Dead face, upset. This time she literally grabs my arms and tries to bear hug me (I'm like 7inches taller than her) and force the money in my pocket. I don't "fight" back because I don't want to accidentally escalate the situation. So I just accept the money.
She DID NOT find the humor. At all. Regardless how much I explained.
Luckily, she looked past it and still wants to go out again.
Great video, Alina! I wish I had that information at the start of my experiences with meeting and using dating sites for Ukrainian women. I can guarantee you now, every point that is talked about in this video is the real way to make close friends there. You mentioned "high maintenance" and that is very true, and a lot of points are very important in other areas of this post. I now have one special person that we are spending as much time as possible in talks and sharing away from the dating site we met on, and that I believe to be very important in any new friendship and future relationship. It becomes very close and always keeps us aiming for the right thing. I had planned to visit Ukraine this summer, but in light of what is going on in America and the world, it is one day at a time now and that is probably the hardest for us right now. Nice Alina. Now I know why I subscribed to your channel early on even though there are so many other female travel bloggers. I find your communication down to earth, sensible, relatable, pleasant, and polite. Great shout out to Alex at Reporterfly since I watch his content also. All great tips you gave about Russian women being conservative although you are likely to find more high maintenance, westernized women in the big cities like Moscow, Saint Petersberg. I really enjoyed my relationship with a Russian woman even though we didn't end up being together and her friends were really pleasant to talk to. I find Russian people to be very personable once you get to know them a little. They may seem cold when they don't know you but once you get to know them a little, they are very hospitable.
I would date Russian women again if the opportunity comes to me. Russian women are beautiful and I had an overall good experience dating and was engaged to her a long time ago before her and I went our separate ways. Great video Alina! ❤

High maintenance and expectation?, miss, that's a description of all modern women. Russian women seem more traditional then most.
Excellent advice I know all too well from personal experience. I would also add to beware of materialistic types, as their expectations of the man-as-provider can be totally unrealistic and superficial. Also, from the previous video, your point was spot on about the blunt opinions of friends and family. If your Russian partner isn’t strong willed with good self-esteem/confidence, the opinions of others could poison the well between you. Be on the lookout for envious Russian friends and family and their attempts to sabotage your relationship in this regard. I do miss the nurturing qualities you mention and would definitely date a Russian again. The highs were particularly high. Also to mention is that the Russian family is particularly tight. Taking a Russian woman away from her family can create emotional problems you won’t have if you remain near her family. Westerners tend to be more independent of their families. The woman you get to know in her own country is a byproduct of her life and family there. Her identity, values and expectations may change once she relocates to another country and culture. @@geoffoakland it's true that Russian women prefer tall guys. But personality is the priority way above looks for them. So if you are a really good person that treat them right, you would be popular with them. Sense of humor is a big plus too.

I was lucky in that I live on the jersey shore in the USA about 30 minutes out from NYC I actually got a job right outside a area in Brooklyn called Brighton Beach it’s actually one of the most Russian populated areas outside Russia and all I knew was I was a Canadian immigrant to the USA myself at the time there was a really nice restaurant there and a beautiful Russian girl worked there at the time I was with my ex so I didn’t think anything of it until me and my ex broke up so one morning when I walked in to get my coffee I decided to shoot my shot and the rest is history All I had to do was talk her into to relocating from nyc to the jersey shore which was a lot easier than talking her into moving all the way from Russia now it’s been five years of us going out with each other and we are looking into getting married

In the USA you can’t exchange information with a girl on a dating site without answering questions about your criminal background and then that information has to be shared with the girl and she has to approve. IMBRA International Marriage Brokerage Act. So, If a dating site doesn’t let you exchange information easily it’s because it’s illegal to share that information without a background check.

She ended up marrying the richest producer (and nicest guy) in Hollywood and they are still married after thirty-six years! Go for it. Even if you don't make it as an actress, you can with your good looks land a wealthy husband. You only live once.
Found your videos by accident.. My grandfather immigrated from the Ukraine about the time of the revolution. He worked and saved his money so he could send for this wife and daughter. What started as a couple now has about 200 descendants. Like my cousin said, "It's amazing what two good Catholics can do ". funny, being a good provider is worthless for dating young western women in France. And as you said their expectations of what a relationship even looks like is so foreign to me as an arab guy. I've recently met a slavic woman and have found myself a lot happier with how this thing works with her. I would never expect her to pay anything anywhere so for me these things are a given for example and I'm happy with that. I'll put some more effort into dates planning though.

I'm English and live in the UK and have two Russian women as friends here and both of them said they were amazed how most British women are towards their men.. I see Russian women how women used to be in the UK. I really can see why many men in the west are now looking for Russian and Ukraineing women. I'm on here cause I was just texting my Ex Russian girlfriend from siberia who I met here in the US. Was just checking on her. Here's the run down, [How I got the date] I was flirting with her one day at work and she told me "You wish, Little boy" I told her straight back "Sorry but No honey! I think you wish!" and then walked away. Then told her "I want to take you to lunch." later that week. So, push back a bit at her nonsense but there's a line. Show no fear or weakness because she doesn't want a sensitive man at all. She told me "Yay! Now that I have a boyfriend, you can wash my car." Sarcastically because I found that insulting, I told her "Okay! You can do my laundry from now on!" So, she kisses me on the lips and say "Okay." confused I said "Okay....." Sounds good to me. I had to order and pay for her food. I was the one to drive the car always. I really shouldn't have been dating and had a small break down cause I was fresh off a divorce and had a small break down and things went down hill from there. If she yells, tell her that's enough women and tell her to go home. Don't ask her to stay like did she will not respect you for it. Demand respect or she will loose interest and think you're weak but don't ask her to help you with anything or she will think your weak. Let her have her time with her russian friends because they are judgmental and she wants to be sure of you before they me you. Cater to her needs or she will see you as selfish. It's like she liked know who's place fell where. this is a "Man job" this is a "Woman Job". DO NOT USE PROFANITY. She tried to friend zone me but realy I was already done with her, so I said Okay and I walk the other way like it was nothing and she wanted me back instantly. Tooo much crap for me deal with.
