@@lsent3338 partially looks, but mostly because of the expensive proprietary components (stem bars forks). Also ive been hearing that it is heavier than other "aero" bikes of this generation.
@@bobsuruncle6762 You shouldn't have to change these components ( bar stem etc etc). Its a purpose built bike. Not a barbie bike made for dress up.

Exchanging cables there looks like a nightmare to me 😅 aero bikes like these should only be sold with electronic shifting imho opinion.
Especially as such long shift cables with tight turns never run as smoothely as on 'conventionally' routed road bikes.

Great video! No words needed. I really like the wheels that come with the mechanical shifting (DT Swiss P1800 Spline 32 Disc) instead of the ones that come with the electronic shifting. If later want to upgrade to the electronic shifting do you have to change the whole braking system with new disc, disc brake calipers and a lot of other things involved?
Hello Larry, if you were to convert the bike to Di2 you would need to only change out the shifters and derailleurs (and of course you'd need a variety of e-tubes, junction boxes, battery, etc). There would be no need to change the disc rotors or brake calipers if you convert the bike to Di2. Thanks for the question.

Antonio can you explain the tightening process for the saddle in a bit more detail for me? Mine came loose on a long bumpy ride yesterday. I had to keep finger tightening the barrel screw during the ride. Thanks. Love the bike.

It's a shame Cavendish won't be riding this for Dimension Data in 2019, as he was involved in the development of this bike. DD are riding BMC for 2019.
This is so true. But I think he will be riding the BMC TimeMachine R01 2019. Its claimed to be just as fast. I would be so ironic if he is beaten by a rival with the Cervélo S5.
And I bet Cav is going to say the time machine is slow and not stiff enough

looks like a threaded bb...just got an r5 frame and want to put a sram gxp crank so what bb is best??
It’s BBright (press fit). Looks like this install is using a Wheels Mfg BBright to 24mm BB to fit that Ultegra crank. This BB threads onto itself and not the frame. Helps a lot to eliminate creaks from pressfit bearings.

Yes that was anti seize to prevent the press fit BB from creaking.

I feel like a bike designed for bigger people should have much larger pedals and more heavy duty brakes. I’ve only gotten two really good rides out of it, minimal downhill action, and the brakes feel like they’re already going out. A larger person has more momentum, so I think this wasn’t thought through very well. Also, I wear size 13-14 wide shoes. My feet cramp up on these pedals that are clearly made for smaller feet. Since I’m not a pro rider (and I don’t think many are who purchase this bike) I don’t think that the straps on the pedal are necessary at all. None of this takes away from the enjoyment I get from riding, however. I’ll just head to a bike shop to improve on a few things.

Any one else crying and cringing at him putting a new seat post in the stand like that with out a cloth to protect it. Or even better put an old seat post in there and make the seat the last thing you install
Hi there- the clamp is lined w/ rubber. A quality clamp like the one used in the video does not scratch/damage the seatpost, especially when clamped with gentle pressure.

The build is "cool enough" to stand on it's own merits.
The production designers are trying way too hard. Camera work and editing is fine. Just "dial" back the passe' music.
