I own a P5X and now I appreciate it even more after seeing what goes into putting it together. Good job Antonio!! I wish I’d live close to Boise to have you as my mechanic.
My dream bike. Not a fan of disc on the front :(. Sram e tap makes these builds so easy I bet. Great attention to detail on the build, I would use him for sure. Congrats to the new owner!
@@agussupriyanto7343 not so... it uses mechanical brakes instead of hydraulic, tube tires instead of tubeless... is a good bike, but we have better bikes today
Hi great video! I bought a P5x and asked them to install my Rotor crank instead. However, I changed my mind and wish to use the Sram red crank instead. Can you tell me exactly which spacers (if any) you used on the install of the crank? I clearly see the wave washer on the non-drive side. Is there more?
Hey Corey- all Cervelo's use their BBRight bottom bracket standard, and the correct type/number of spacers you'd use to install a SRAM Red crank depends upon the type of axle your crank uses.
Because hydraulic levers require a reservoir at the lever and a long line full of hydraulic fluid. This is actually brilliant because it entirely eliminates the hoses that are a pain in the ass to bleed, reduces weight by removing those fluid-filled hoses, and you won't get any bubbles by the hoses shaking within the loose confines of the frame.
Antonio should be "in demand" to build bikes, as he seems dedicated to his work!!! Re: Cervelo P5x I'd be curious to know the weight of it per build seen here, and not sure I'm a fan of disc brakes yet, (racing wise) per weight gain (of how many g's....don't know?) in comparison to typical brake pad systems. Does Antonio have a favorite brand &/or type of bike to build? +Antonio Gonzalez +Tri Town
Hey Al Karg, I don't remember the exact weight, but it was around 20lbs (size medium frame). Not light by any means, but felt very solid and robust. There was almost no flex in the beam. Regarding disc brakes, long term I think the benefit of disc brakes for tri bikes will be solving the 'aero brake adjustment' trouble that is endemic with a lot of high end triathlon bikes. A disc brake is ultimately more owner-friendly than most aero hidden brakes and provides more consistent braking performance. It also solves the a lot of the poor braking performance issues on some carbon fiber wheels. Currently there is a weight and aero penalty for discs, but for some the benefits may outweigh those factors. Regarding my favorite bikes to build: I don't have any in particular, but I do appreciate smartly design products, regardless of what price point or generation it may fall into. Thanks.
Hands down - the most technical build I have watched - it’s an absolute masterpiece. Well done
This is like one of those lego technic builds without the manual.
It was a fun build for sure.
I'm a bmx rider and sometimes a MTB rider but this bike may be my new favourite bike

Ryan Lindsay he didn't
yeah, I figured, but that would've been pretty cool
Ryan Lindsay For sure x) I am bad at keeping my bike clean and good (but I'm young) ans this guy does it all so easily

I don't feel the overwhelming urge to ride this but I have to admit, it is a jaw-dropping piece of rolling art.

Acceptable bike.
Now that answers my question about how the inner tube valve goes through deep section wheels, i found out that they put some sort of extension.
Some valves are long enough that you don't need a valve extender, unless the rims are very deep.
