@@delzimar don't let someone else define what you play, just play what you enjoy. I'd put AMS2 several steps above the "simcades" but there is nothing wrong with them either, some of the most skilled sim racers in the world play a LOT of GT7.
I am absolutely loving AMS2 in VR. It took a while to get it running and looking right, but now it is just amazing. The sounds and vehicle options are incredible. Nurburgring looks so good in VR as well. Definitely offers something different to iRacing, and I love them both.

So I'm now running in Oculus VR with the Oculus Debug Tool running as well. I'm happy to share my settings with you. I'm on a 4070 Ti Super with 7800X3d.

Before LFM we had RCO (Race Craft Online) you should have a look at them but they arent as well known as LFM, they have gave me many decent races before and they deserve some love!
RE: the camera head movement; most people I know have that set all the way down to zero - and have "Legacy Head movement" set to 1. Much better, much less bouncier
I’m loving AMS2. For me AMS2 feels more natural to how you’d expect a car to behave, and it might come down to skill which I won’t deny but with ACC I just couldn’t find the limit compared to AMS2. ACC felt unnecessarily difficult, and unfortunately some gauge difficulty with realism which isn’t always the case and of course, each to their own, whatever you find enjoyable. Great video though, I hope to see more AMS content.
I have been having a ton of fun with the 1.6 update. I have not raced online for a couple years now, I will have to signup for LFM and give it a try. Racing the LMP2 cars at Road Atlanta in Vr is the most fun sim racing I have done in years.
Fun fact Dave the safety car is scored as if it were racing with you guys so when it does come out it’s almost always xyz laps down on all timing and scoring screens
I made it, that was me grimskii in the video, unfortunately I suffered issues with the ghost car and it totalled my race. Other than that LFM coming to ams is amazing really enjoyed it so far.
the invisible car thing is a bug. there is a setting for reducing the number of visible cars on track, I think it's set to 12 or 16 by default but you want to set it to OFF there are a few other bugs with 1.6; the TC/ABS modes can get set to OFF when starting a session and sometimes the session fails to progress until the host leaves
@brooksy2622 🤷♂️ they're working with an engine that isn't theirs. They're re-engineering it which is already a feat of its own. What I'm not excusing is how LONG it's taken them to fix things.
People get obssessed by the "simcade" label as if its a bad thing. Simcade is a design choice which Reiza haven't made. IMO it's a sim, but on the more approachable side of things compared to iRacing/LMU. I think that's a great thing. We need more sims like that to get new people in.
@@HDRGamingHub broken to you maybe, but they feel like they make sense to me. Everything I do in other sims ( and I've played all the modern ones ) works the same in AMS2, in 1.6 more than ever. There are slight differences, but I can hop from one to another and be roughly at the same pace within 10 laps. But I'm sure you are a car physics expert so you do you and go play whatever makes you happy.

Sims like iRacing and AC present that knife edge tire model, which may very well be closer to reality. But guess what? This isn’t reality - this is a video game. Unless you’re really hell bent on simulating exactly how a car drives in reality, Reiza’s decision to build their tire model the way they did provides a balance between simulating reality and accessibility. Rather than calling something broken, think harder about the ramifications of both approaches and evaluate what the outcomes will be. I’m both an AC and AMS2 driver and I understand both styles and appreciate each sim respectively for their own style.
Yea, that was a weird ghost car thing that happened. Before this last update you would see that happening once the sun went down, but it was more like teh shadows were baked onto the track and you wouldnt collide with anything. I had heard the issue had finally been resolved, so I am not sure if this is related to that, or the game just not rendering that one car properly... super confusing.
Full Corse Yellow are cool. That of the ghost car is a bug to fix. It's a car that for some reasons only showed the shadow. It happened to me during qualy a couple of times, you see all the other car's shadow, but in such case you drive through them. I'm really enjoying driving AMS2 these days. I really enjoyed your driving too. You are missing the HUD with time to end, position in class and overall...
Hey Dave, I also drive an Invicta Base with the Forte steering wheel. Can you tell me how you set the settings in Automobilista 2? I get on the ground or the curbs, violent blows on the bike, so it's not really fun to ride.
I was in this lobby but spun out like the leader did Same spot same lap. Couldnt do anything bout it because ffb wasnt telling me shit. Couldnt feel the rear getting loose
I think it is the Precision Sim Engineering Pro Switch Panel. If you search his other vids you'll find one dedicated to its setup and use. It looks to be a pretty impressive bit of kit.
Dave, compared to Raceroom, where would you put AMS2 currently? Would it be above Raceroom, closer to the sim end of the spectrum, or would it be below Raceroom, closer to a simcade?
GT3s are not the best in AMS2 in all honesty, but the new LMP2 for example and other high downforce cars drive much more nicely. Would love to see you react on how those drive :)
Friend of mine suggested default settings on GT3s are not helping, try reducing camber a bit ( Front camber -4.0 Rear camber -3.5 for example on the porker ).

@@steffenruch8835 In AMS2 online races, sometimes after a pitstop the cars come out of the pits floating above the track, it's nothing to do with ping.
@ lol a licence is a legal document. When ai mean hard I mean intuitive, you don’t need to drive a go kart. You can go anywhere and drive it as fast as you can. Intuitive not hard, sims should be like that. But yes most people, car enthusiasts would drive a car without a legal document if that was legal.
Cars are not necessarily hard to drive, but taking them to the limit with changing conditions is not easy. AMS2 is great, I really enjoy it but it’s much easier to drive than any other sim. That’s not a criticism, just an observation.

LFM and 1.6 has completly changed AMS2. Its great fun

Make sure in your settings for Visible cars that it is turned off for the time being. That is a recommendation from Reiza while they sort out this bug

The experience is so different vs iracing. The cars are way harder to handle.

I agree. We shouldn't even require license to drive in real life. So simple, a new born should be allowed to drive cars.

I love ams2, but yeah it’s like a gt7 with more fidelity. For serious driving and pushing myself I use iRacing.

The Audi GT3 and GT4's are messed up. The backend comes around and no setup changes will stop it.
