I absolutely love the fact that you are a proponent of the whole entrance song shindig, as a blind guy who is learning to pitch, music contributes so much to everything I am and everything I do, and I just want to have that experience of walking out into a stadium with my song. That sounds bad ass
Sugar cookie! Congratulations on a fantastic career, Trevor! Coming from a Twins fan - and also simply a Trevor May fan - thanks for all the great baseball memories (especially during 2019...such a special year). *And* thanks so much for making great content online; the extent to which you care about the game and about your fans is not lost on us. 🙌
Never got to ask a question but loved hearing your positive remarks about the Mets. I always wonder if players look back on playing for our franchise and don’t enjoy their time but it seems that you did I know I really enjoyed watching you pitch for us especially in our best regular season of my lifetime
Sugar Cookie. Also, that line from Plouffe is the MOST Trevor Plouffe thing I've ever heard. Dude has more cool in his pinky nail than I will ever hope to have in my life.
Trevor, thank you sooo much for playing for my favorite team the twins. I was mad when I saw the news of you signing with the Mets because I loved to watch you pitch
1. Sugar Cookie!, 2. Was that smoke coming out of the doorway over your left shoulder at the 8:12ish mark?? 3. What's best way for a minor/major leaguer to manage their money with all the freinds, family, and other options tugging them all different directions? (knowing most don't get the BIG contracts until at least 6-7 years in)
I love your candid answers and hope you do more of these. You clearly respect and love the game and even if you have issues with someone you are respectful and honest which I love. So many players are either unwilling to answer real questions or are just negative and have nothing nice to say about opponents.
I was an intern for the Rochester red wings in 2016. I remember Trevor got sent down to AAA for a few weeks in June. One of the nicest players I encountered with during that entire summer. Truly down to earth. Another fun guy from that summer was Kennys Vargas. I went to a twins game in Atlanta later in the year and Vargas actually remembered me when I waved at him and he came over and gave me a hug 😂
Sugarcookie. Looking forward to the future of your channel. There aren't many channels like this now. A former player or two but none as up to date as you
@@TrevorMayBaseball oh and thank you for coming back home to Seattle. I'm a local and I'm frankly proud of having someone from our little area in the corner out of the way made it to the big show
I have adult ADHD. Glad to see someone successful. I only got to semi-pro but had the same exact problem. I'd get too excited or too pissed off and a lot of people didn't like that.
My journey inward, and that quest to understand my own brain, have been the most rewarding quests I’ve ever embarked on. That stuff is what draws me to this channel
I want a sugar cookie now... damn. Also, Mets fan here and it was great seeing you pitch in person too! Wasn't always the best but you always gave it your all! Thank you! Ps. I feel like Trevor Plouffe is one of the most genuine players to ever play. He's great w/ CRose!
Great vid, I love your candidness. Some suggestions I have you could use in the future...Maybe you could do a video where you talk about each team and if you have any stories facing them. I think it'd be cool to get your thoughts now while they're still fresh. Also can you talk about some things like who pays for what when you guys go out, which teams had the best accomodations, are the fans getting screwed by the owners in certain ways. I'd really like to hear more from your point of view. Thanks for doing this video
The autographed Coheed and Cambria picture is dope as fuck. I appreciate you, Trevor, even though you never pitched for my team. I wish the best of luck for your future!
sugar cookie A's fan here. Amazing second half of the season. Heck of a way to say sayonara to the league while also showing you went out on your own terms, not lack of skill.
Sugar Cookie😮💨 One of the coolest dudes in baseball! You signed a ball for me outside of the As spring training facility last year and I was the other person out there. Thanks man!
Sugar 🍪. Didn't realize you were from Longview. I live in Portland and know that small town. Good for you bud. Would love to meet ya one day and get a beer. You seem like a real one🍻👍🏻
Sugar Cookie. I was also the teen whose emotions torpedoed my performance. Really relatable. Happy to still be playing in a Sunday men’s league at this point. Fun video, and I’m looking forward to more in my feed.
Sugar cookie. Hi. Enjoying the content, especially since I've seen some of things you've described. My son is a reliever on the Giants and gotten to enjoy times with Taylor and Tyler. We've followed your career as we're from Arlington, just up the road from Seattle. Keep having fun.😁
1. What are your thoughts on pitchers who used Spider Tack? 2. Best advice you ever received to increase your spin rate? 3. Do you think the baseballs were juiced at any point during your career to help the offense? 4. Best and worst unwritten rules in the MLB? 5. What pitches would you not allow your 12 year old son to throw and why? Why are elbow injuries more prevalent now or is there just more attention on them?
As a reliever, how long before the call to the bullpen is it before you *think* you’re gonna pitch in the game? Is it before the game starts? Does the bullpen get told prior to the game the list of probable pitchers for the game? And how long before the call do you *definitely* know (or very confident) that you’re gonna pitch?
Sugar Cookie. Thank you so much for sharing all of your stories. As a Mets fan, it's great to hear that Pete Alonso is as good of a guy as we hope he is. I wish you the best of luck with your retirement. Question for Part 2: What was the best advice you ever received from a Coach/Manager, and who was it from? Follow up question: Who were your favorite Coaches/Managers?
Mets fan here Trevor. First off, pretty nice to find your channel. I'll certainly be checking out more of your videos. Entertaining. Second, hey man. I'm sorry I booed you. It's not like I or any fans wanted to. It's just the Mets had the lead, then you came in and then we didn't lol. And this happened a few times lol. It wasn't personal.
Great stuff Trevor! Love getting an inside look at the big leagues. Maybe some day can you do a tour of your set up behind you? I see some cool tech gear. Love to see what you are using to create your content. What software and hardware etc. I have been a video editor for 30 plus years so that explains my request. Cheers!

I really dig this channel, so thank you Mr May. One thng surprisingly few people understand (I was a catcher for many years so I understand) Pitchers are an odd bunch. I loved them but I can honestly I didn't really want to hang out with them after the game 😅. That's why they stick together. Nobody else understands just how odd they can be. I'm betting Mr May is no stranger to this fact😅
I worked for the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes when Napoli was there (High-A). Super nice guy and was really a great leader with all the young guys that were there.
I remember that 2021 September 11 game... As a Yankee fan I was happy about how the 8th went but always liked you and felt bad BUT you can't be too upset being hit by three great Yankees, two of them being two of the best hitters basically ever.
Great to hear about the inside stuff in Baseball ⚾ ! What was it like to play in Yankee Stadium ?? What was your favorite place to play ? Thanks hope you answer !
I always love hearing about behind the scenes and personal stories of professional baseball players. I have been fortunate to hang out with a few and it is so cool to hear things that you had no idea what went on or how things worked behind the curtain. SUGAR COOKIE!
Sugar cookie. It's very cool to hear stories from former mlb players. Some years ago I worked at a hospital in Virginia. During lunch one day this older gentleman was lying for a place to sit and there are no empty tables but we had a empty chair. It was a small hospital so I knew he wasn't an employee. Turned out he was waiting for his grandchild in surgery. After chit chatting it turned out he was a former Negro League player and had some amazing stories of his time play8ng. I was in my mid 20s so it was fascinating.
Hey sugar cookie, I hope you know how much M's fans rooted for you, every game! On reddit, on discord, and in the park. You're a local legend, and we're all bummed we never got to sea you in an M's jersey. Looking forward to more content though, thanks for this!
When you're in the zone, it's a feeling that is hard to describe. When all your pitches are clicking, it's like doing something so easy yet so difficult at the same time. When you're having an off day. It's a fucking nightmare. 😂 and off days are inevitable. You just try to limit those outings. Same when you're at the plate. As you advance having the ability to establish an approach to know how to make adjustments in your swing pitch by pitch. All hitters slump it's how quickly you get out separates the pros from the amateurs.
I am pretty sure i met this guys acupuncturist/massage therapist near seattle. He had nothing but good things to say about trevor. We talked about baseball the entire time the therapist was working on my knee. Anyway, just pointing that out.

Sugar cookie. As a Mariners fan. I would have loved nothing more than to have you on the 2023 Ms. No shade to Dominic Leone but man, I would have LOVED to have you in our bullpen.
