*I said in the video that the Christmas Truce was in World War II. It was not, as anyone with a knowledge of history would know. I misspoke. It happened in World War I. My apologies.*
great reaction, more Sabaton please. Sabaton is a Swedish band with a loooong list of history based music. Sabaton also has an award winning history channel that gives background to over 120 if their songs (not music award, academic, aimed at education of the public) . Thank you so much for your calming energy and all your sincere prayers. They are much appreciated. I love your channel, your reactions, and your wisdom. Lastly, thank you for your service to our country!
I learned that Sabaton is Power Metal. Fun fact. The drummer of Sabaton is married to Floor Jansen of Nightwish which is Symphonic Metal. They have 2 young children and live a simple life with a couple of horses in a remote area in Sweden. With all their money they earn performing on stage they could easily have lived in a huge mansion with Ferrari's etc but they choose to live a simple life in private in the countryside away from the spotlights on a farm.
Not anymore. They first moved to the city. And shortly after that they moved again to the countryside but closer to a middle size city. My hometown to be exact. Hahahahaha
You seem to be a very humble, nice person. Your voice and your whole present is so calming, I really enjoy watching your videos. God bless you, my friend. 🙏
*Christmas Truce* is quite epic.... powerful storytelling and classical Sabaton energy. If you like history, this is great. I love Sabaton purely because of the power that each song gives off. Each song is a wave of energy and power that threatens to overwhelm you...and not too forgot the great videos, acted by the men of SABATON 🤘🏼🎸 Thank you for the response, I really appreciate it! Love from the Netherlands 🇳🇱
Sabaton A Lifetime of war. You really need to listen to that song. Sabaton. Live concert. Its about the 30 years war. The war that resulted in more Death and than ww2
120 years old is my life goal also! I have a magnet that says "I plan on living forever...so far so good!" Anyway, love this song, loved your reaction and you got a sub from me! (I should have subbed when I watched Tommy's "Ave Maria" last night but I slipped up, so now I've corrected my mistake! PS: I also posted a request for you to react to his "O Helga Natt" (O Holy Night) sometime, I'll be waiting! ❤
The song and the video are top notch, but the story is just crazy, same with No bullets fly, most of us would probably never heard of it if it wasn't for Sabaton making a song about it, thanks for reacting to this amazing song.
As a European, specifically Dutch former Marine ("07-"11, 1x Afghanistan) i love Sabaton, but i also love this exact song WW 1 was a disaster, a puff bluff by politicians and emperors (short version). But it was the young men dying, as always. The Christmas truce showed, these men had very much in common, and if not a War was going on, they might've been good friends.... It is sad and what should remind Europe today, that we are all brothers, all unite. Or there's a war that never ens.... Liked and subscribed. Semper Fi
A lot of the men actually refused to fight after the truce they were threatened with execution and mostly transferred to different areas to avoid it. In the following years they made sure that there were a lot of attacks and bombardments around Christmas as well as punishment to avoid it happening again such a shame at the waste of life.
Small men with big guns that couldn't handle that not everyone was following their orders unquestioningly, and dared to think for themselves. A sad story that repeats again and again.
Sabaton also has a history channel where they go through the history behind their songs, the videos are a bit longer but they're well made and interesting.
Some would say that Sabaton is classified as "Power Metal", and even a genre of their own, "Historical Metal". "Power Metal" sounds like it would be "harder", but in general is a bit softer on the vocals and plays the music faster than "Metal". It fits somewhat, but I would argue more for the "Historical Metal". Sabaton tell it like it is, no sides taken, but all sides are heard.
