    About the SOFTWARE I use in the video:
    A huge amount of my production involves Adobe CC (my affiliate link tinyurl.com/v7fvqgo) I use Adobe photoshop, After Effects, Premiere, Audition and sometimes Animate. I would be nowhere without these softwares. You can get them all with a comfortable monthly subscription, or you can get subscriptions to individual plans. Check them out and see what works for you.
    The main software I'm using to actually animate frame by frame is called TVPaint. Here's more information on that: www.tvpaint.com/
    It's a great software :)
    And if you need a Graphics tablet, I highly recommend this one for you ballers out there: geni.us/vy8xUZB
    It's the best tablet money can buy :)
    And here's a great low-low cost alternative: geni.us/LLYv

      If u consider this a normal job, consider working 7 days a week nonstop. It maybe a cultural thing, many fields in the uk seems to require u too give up a normal life. I am not a creative myself, but the people i know doing this keep saying that creative work requires more pauses, and is more up and down in intensity - u wont produce your best work working around the clock, u might burn out thou. This is unsubstainable too if u have other responsibilities. So my question is really; is this really necessary? Required? Produce better quality work?

    Honestly mate, as someone that got into the banking industry at 18 and now at a decent wage at 24, I’m jealous- I don’t enjoy my work most of the time, it’s a chore, as a creative soul it’s very shackling, and it becomes all about money. Take it form me folks, this mans passion and energy are extremely rare, and the love for his ‘job’ (or I’d prefer to say talent) is incredible. Like Bob Ross has said, don’t worry about the money, it will come. Just do what you love and if something monitory comes from that- great! If not, tell yourself ‘is this the reason I’m doing it?’. As a kid, you don’t start a hobby in the eventual goal to make a living from it, everyone that has been successful has done so from having a genuine love and obsession for that subject. Keep loving and keep living

      I think is pretty much the same with any kind of art. When you work for someone else, you do what they want you to do in the style that they want. There is also more structure like set times you need to work and not being able to work on side projects like Howard gets to do, but you have benefits, collaboration with other artists, and a steady check. The downside to freelance is that half your time is running the business side, your checks fluctuate with the jobs you do, but you get to work on things you really like, things that inspire you, and you are free to use your own style. There are plusses and minuses but at the end of the day what matters is what is important to you and what you're circumstances are (married with kids = steady check w/benefits, for example). The bigger Howard's business gets the more people he can bring in to help = more collaboration, so eventually, 'he will have his cake and get to eat too', IMHO. Great vid Howard! Very informative.

    Thank you Howard for taking the time to ramp up some camera work for the video. you didn't have to make the video so nice (with the camera shots and angles, with the intermixed artwork at the beginning) but you did and it's very pleasant.
    small things like that (your standing desk, you have a very nice garden,big bottle o'water, foam roller) show how you clear your head and maximize efficiency . very nice info to have as well which I appreciate
    How do you maintain your eyesight working with digital screens a lot?
    The guitar playing was also very nice mun.

      @HowardWimshurst  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Mot thanks so much! Yeah I had all of these ideas for how to make this video building for a while. It was a lot of fun!
      I don't really do anything to maintain my eyesight at this stage... If there's anything you recommend I could do about that I would love to hear it

    • @moooooooot
      @moooooooot 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HowardWimshurst The only method i do is to drag my iris along the corners of my eye (sideways & diagonally), just to test that my eyes don't slow down and maintain the muscle, as well as breaks from screens.

    Its 'They' not 'He'. Important point to make is to get stuff signed off at every stage, confirmed by email as that stops them claiming it wasn't what they wanted and not paying. Lastly, stage payments; Get minimum 50% up front to cover over heads, if they won't pay that then they don't want to pay at all!
    The bottom line is the ONLY line in animation - sorry dreamers!
