Thank you alot , I just couldn't get klipper to installed in the MCU (Manta M8P) (also its my first time with klipper) after 2 hectic days of getting the serial address of MCU and getting the CB1 working with wifi , the MCU wont Flash with the ssh software and i couldn't find any solution then i remembered your video and returned to it and wolla , also i am running the lastest OS of BTT (2.3.3) and faced the same issues that you solved. Again thanks alot you are a life saver
.
Great stuff! What a library of resources. I just subscribed to your Patreon because you deserve it.
Thank you.
Ed, this was a great video and it was very helpful to me personally. However, I have to strongly advise against the procedure that was instructed at 8:50 roughly. Do not use "include" to run the provided manta m8p config file. Instead just copy and paste it into the existing printer.cfg file below "[include mainsail.cfg]". Otherwise, when trying to PID tune or PROBE_CALIBRATE your Z_offset for bltouch, the "SAVE_CONFIG" command will not work at all in the console. I would add that as a pinned comment as this will create headaches for some. This was my first time using klipper after using marlin for years.
Thank you for that tip. I also found problems when including other files and Klipper. I can't remember what it was but I know I had to put the info into the "printer.cfg"
Awesome step by step guide. I would suggest that you break the video up so people can go to the segment they need. I have had the v1.0 board for over about a year. The included instructions were not very clear and mostly in Chinese. I have so many ideas to use with this board and didn't know where to begin. 😁 Again, great job with the video.
Thanks for the great tutorials - I received a new M8P yesterday from BIQU but it seems to be a new version 1.1 with CAN and some other added features. Hope you can get an upgraded board to illustrate the CAN setup. My build is still about 2-3 weeks out waiting for additional parts.
I'm currently adding several tutorials up on Patreon today. They be rolling out to TH-cam slowly. If you want a first look they'll be posted there.
@@EdwardBraiman hi there. Thank you sooo much for your tutorials !!!
You recently uploaded tutorials for m4p. Are they also usable for m8p?
Thank you once again 😉
M8P pinout will be different and jumpers will follow BTT M8P manual.
@@EdwardBraimanwell noted, will you do more tutorials especially for MP8 ??? Thank you once again for your great job !!!!
I wish you would do a full setup for the manta m8p v1.1 focusing on canboot setup and Ebb36/42. Anything I’ve found on the subject is not for the newbie’s out here.
Sweet baby jesus I am so appreciative of your channel and knowledge. Im joining you patreon friday
Thanks.
thanks for uploading this vid
You're welcome.
I am getting klippy host software is attempting to connect error in blue the it switches to red. What can I do to fix this?
There is a Discord link in Description. There are two chat's with either myself or someone else can help General Chat or Klipper chat.
10:50 was the solution for me to get my CB1 to talk to the MCU.
I had tried flashing, DFU flashing nothing seemed to work until I put this in the config.
Thank you.
I have not found a single writeup where this was clearly documented.
You're welcome.
Thanks!
It did quit working though after two reboots lol so I'm going to be another couple hours at this.
@@EdwardBraiman
it was a bad board.
New board, same CB1, worked with no hesitation
Thanks, I used this to get my M8P running. My CB1 runs about 47c with the heat sink. I see yours is about 57.
Recorded on a hot day.
Some years ago i told u to try klipper, too.
Whats your conclusion wich is easier to handle for configuration changes? Marlin + VSCode + Flash always after a minor change. Or the printer.cfg in Mainsail OS( or Fluid) and a restart of klipper.
Ragards Helge
Like them both, but they both require careful understanding.
Hi, thank you very much for the video, do you know how do I wire and configure a module such adxl345 to use the input shape of the klipper ?
Not yet, but maybe in the future.
thank you for the clear explanation , without the mumbo jambo that other youtubers do
You're welcome, just like to jump into subject.
Great tutorial thanks a lot, OI just order the V1.1 could you load a printer config for this board and the CB1? I still new to klipper.
There's a playlist link in description. The steps to doing more thinks are in playlists.
I have just tried this procedure and when I copy past ls /dev/serial/by-id/* I get No such file or directory.
I had to follow the instructions in the BTT User manual - this makes you use Mobaxterm to run the make menuconfig, then the make command to create a klipper.bin file.
This you then have to rename to firmware.bin, then flash the board with the new firmware.
Then follow your procedure once again.
so when using the CB1 (or CM4) the MCU card slot is not used? The board gets flashed through the CB1 connection?
thank you.
Either CB1 or CM4 can be flashed via non-mcu SD card slot, unless it has emmc memory on either, then it needs to be flashed via USB connection with switches set.
Niiiice!
I feel like you skipped alot from the manual that is provided.
the full part of making the file for the MUC and uploading it is not here?`
Skipped make, because they posted firmware.bin as a different name on website for BTT GitHub. Also the named firmware.bin incorrectly.
friend, I bought a m8p manta and the nozzle on the EO outlet, according to the manual, is outputting direct 24v.. Is the board defective or is it firmware? thanks
My CB1 takes to long to respond and times out, I've found the ip and unlike my other mainsail web interfaces it times out :(
Which image of os are you using and are you using an antenna?
after instaling manta im getting error [ Pin 'PG13' is not a valid pin name on mcu 'mcu' ] how to solve this ?
Watch entire video, I think the answer is in there.
Faster
Video is difficult to do faster. If I drop a step here or there, it would confuse viewer.
I insert the SD card and nothing happens, no red light glowing, no IP showing up in router
