Thank you for the great tutorial, I have a question, I cannot connect to wi-fi and I do not have a 24 volt supply yet. The CB1 with eMMc loaded and worked fine during setup with just the 5vdc of the usb-c. Is the 24Vdc required to get on line with wi-fi?

5v power make Wifi in B2B connections not consistent. V1 board was able to do 5v.

I have the cb1 with 16gb emmc, is the install the same or which image do you use to install on the cb1?

I brought one of these M8P boards 8 months ago but the nightmare I had setting up the Minie3v3 on my Ender 5 plus puts me off even trying. Its collecting dust on the shelf. But i will eventually give it a go, I just dont need the depression the Mini board cause me, I had to pay a shop to get the Mini working, 3 technicians, 6 weeks later i got it back and they were not happy as the time they put in for the set price i paid. But Im building another bedslinger at the moment and the M8P will be dusted off and put to use..... I hope.

Will BTT ever merge the Octopus EZ Max with the CB1 or CM4? I like the EZ drivers and general form factor.

hi, will you also make a vid on how to connect a camera with that ribbon cable slot?
i've been trying a lot of different things, but whatever i do the board never boots after i connected the camera.
so i guess a tutorial on that would be useful as the other videos are.

I'll look into it. Usually on long tutorials I leave out stuff I want to include.

To be clear, are you using a CB1 (Raspberry Pi alternative) or CM4 (actual Raspberry Pi) board? The CB1 does not work with either the CSI (camera ribbon) or DSI (display ribbon) connections. Only the CM4 does. The CB1 you have to setup a camera or display through USB (or HDMI if the display is not touchscreen) only.

On CM4 it works for a webcam. CB1 I think you need to enable. When I have some time I give it a look.

I have this board and the CB1 but after many many hours of troubleshooting with BTT cannot get the SPI1 port to work with an ADXL345. Short story is that with the ADXL connected, the board will not boot due to an MCU error. If I hot plug the ADXL in after boot...all is good and I can successfully run Input Shaping. Hopefully you choose to have a look at this yourself as I believe this is an amazing board, but would love to have this working. I can share my journey with you if you wish....

Currently I'm not yet investing input shaping. Keep in mind several people in discord chat for Klipper in link below have. They might be able to guide you thru issue.

what's the difference between the regular CB1 and the eMMC version?

    • @EdwardBraiman
      @EdwardBraiman  ปีที่แล้ว

CB1 is made by BTT and currently doesn't have emmc. Some CM4 versions do, but only 8gb version works at moment. CM4 is a Raspberry pi, different company or foundation.

I have a new Manta M8P V2 and a CB1 Emmc. I followed everything, but when I execute ls /dev/serial/by-id/* I get no such file or directory. All four dip switches are in the off position.
    Anything I'm missing?

Currently working on tutorials for v2. One is posted for CB1 without emmc. Hoping to get more posted maybe this weekend.

use putty to shh in and cd to klipper once in Klipper type make menu config choose stm32 then stm32 g0B1 with 8mhz crystal and 8 bootloader hit Q and Y to save. This will bring you back to klipper then type make! now type the ls/dev/serial/by-id and you will see your MCU number

Sometimes I mix the two when talking. I call them Easter Eggs where people identify mistakes. Rather than rerecord whole thing I just go with it these days.
