- I recentlyRemoved and apricot tree and I decided to make something out of the wood. I didn’t normally like FRUIT wood As it cracks a lot during the drying process. But since lately I’ve gotten into more epoxy repairs I thought that would just make a beautiful highlight if it does crack.
That is one beautiful piece of wood! Can't wait to see the finishing video.
Glenn
Thank you Glen. Me too on the finished project.
I second the last one it looks exceptional Darren. I look forward to seeing the finished product!
Thank you Mr Z. It should be a very cool piece when coming completely finished.
I look forward to seeing it!

Amazing looking piece of wood. Hope it dries nicely and you will not need any epoxy on this piece.
Thank you. It sure does have some nice color, and I too hope it doesn’t need epoxy
Great job. Hope for successful drying.
Thank you Walt. All I can do now is wait and see
Gorgeous Colors
Thank you very much. Thanks for the comment.
That is a stunning piece of wood.
Thank you John. It’s got a lot of color and character for a piece of Apricot.
Amazing color!
Thank you Sarah. Appreciate your comment
No doubting that has some amazing colour.
Have you worked with mango wood?
Mango wood has a beautiful golden grain.
Thank you Mike, I have not turned Mango wood. I have not had any available. But I do live in a subtropical climate and mango may grow in my area. I will be looking for some
Great Job Darren, I got to get down to Santa Barbara a check out some of your work first-hand.
Thank you my friend. I look forward to seeing you
That’s some seriously Shatner-esque commentary.
Thank you Mark. I’m not sure, and I am seriously asking you, is the commentary is a problem? I’ve just recently started talking on my videos. I’ve always been shy about public speaking. So it’s all new to me. Thank you for watching and I really appreciate your comments.
@@darrenswoodworks8695 hi. No it’s not a problem but it just shouted out to me the style that Shatner spoke in his Capt. Kirk role. If I remember correctly it was about 1/3 way through if you want a claim to fame.
Thank you Mark. Appreciate your reply. So if you don’t
Mind. Do you prefer commentary or to just watch video without commentary? I have been watching Jim Sprague channel. He has 1 hour videos and comments all the way through his videos. I’ve learned a lot from him. I often turn them on while I’m editing my videos, and look up when he is doing something I’m not familiar with. Just have it on in the background.
@@darrenswoodworks8695 hi again. I hadn’t really given it any thought until you asked so I’ve mulled over this for a little while. Caveat - I’m watching this for relaxation and to bring back some fabulous memories of a great uncle that allowed me to work at his woodwork bench many years ago and my feelings may not reflect those of most of your other viewers.
My preference is just to watch then listen when the artist stops to point out something of interest or a point when a choice has to be made. As an occasional viewer of this art I think you might choose not to change too much as regular viewers probably watch you for your established style.
I wish you well and thank you for sharing your skills.
Thank you Mark, I really appreciate your response. I have some similar memories of older people I’ve had the privilege of knowing and hanging around with. I have great memories of seeing what they do and hearing so many stories. Some are hard to believe really happened. Either way it brings back memories. Thank you again.
