Hi Joe - it's Big Rodders in Ireland. I'm surprised on a machine at that price point that it doesn't have an auto stop for the wrapper mechanism. I'm intrigued by the swivelling back where the logs are placed. Does it serve any specific purpose are is it just the inevitable result of the overall design. If you can't get a wing nut to fit the wrapper tension bolt you could easily weld two ears onto the existing nut to facilitate hand tensioning. Finally, you could G clamp a suitable receptacle to the top of the machine to hold your labels. In the meantime - Keep on Bundling!

This is my observation. It may or may not be accurate. Firewood processing is the vehicle that carries all the ancillary goods and services OWB provides. Yes, a profit can be made with stacked cellulose, but it's the accompanying stack of offerings that provide the highest margins. This is true for rock(or wood) stars who have expanded their audience. Love your channel.

Joe, I found it interesting that you talked about the tension of the wrap to the bundle. I worked for a Fortune 50 beer company for 35 years and in the 90's we installed high speed wrap machines that wrapped full pallets of beer. Our corporate budget for rolls of wrap was in the millions. I was assigned to research ways to reduce the amount of wrap we used. What I found was it is important to measure the "force to load" of each wrapper. That "force to load" pulls the wrap so it is tight to the load and if the machine is calibrated correctly, I found you use less wrap per pallet because the wrap is being stretched, which resulted in a reduction of the number of rolls we had to purchase yearly. The wrap is designed to be stretched to its max. Although your wrap budget would be relatively small, because you are using "bundles" as a side hustle. However, a person making only bundles and buying his firewood by the cord and producing bundles for sale, would most likely find that it would be beneficial to make certain he is stretching that wrap to its max. The process is simple to measure the Force to Load of the wrap. Sorry for the long business practice dissertation but wrap is very expensive because it is a petroleum-based product.
I loved your post Larry. I am totally aligned with your insight. I have gravitated away from blown wrap and now use cast and also I kept trying lighter gauge wrap. I am now using 90. I find it stretches with less torque on the arm of the machine and I use just three wraps per bundle. I notice others on YT and they all seem to be more than 3 wraps.
What brand of wrap do you use? I tried a lot on amazon. I usually use 90 but trying to find the best bang for the buck for the firewood bundles. Some i have to use 5 or 6 turns.
@@paydrow707 You might need to increase the tension to stretch the wrap out more. Stretch wrap is designed to stretch out then it contracts making a very tight bundle. My plan was to start out by delivering bundles, and also selling them at a roadside stand along with loose stacks. I honestly don’t know if I wanna get into doing bulk deliveries. The people in the area sell firewood too cheap for me to think about competing with. I’ve already gave plenty of thoughts about selling to the campgrounds and the local stores that you mentioned. Go Fast is better...I say that by the build quality and company response. The both do the same thing but there is less flex in the wheel when you torque the wrap when stretching. I like how the twister returns to home but that is also available on the Go Fast as an upgrade. Mine doesn't have it...it is just something to get used to
New London is 15 min away from me. I got a John's welding bundler bc I wanted a hand crank bundler to use out where my firewood is in the field. I have 2 roadside stands. Winter sales are alot better than summer. I give kindling bundles to new people who order firewood from me so they call me when they need firewood again. I sell some smoking wood chunks in bags and some as bundles. I take firewood to 8 different campgrounds but most often they want loose campfirewood. I tried convincing one owner to sell my bundles instead of my loose firewood but he rather sell it loose even after I showed him how nice my bundles are made. I would like to sell to gas stations and stores but have to get my kiln made 1st
Thanks for sharing garrett. I would think you don't need kilned wood for gas stations etc. I have found that they don't care they just want it to look nice, have a UPC and that you are reliable Good luck and keep me updated friend

I rather build a kiln and get certified and make labels that have my state certification number and symbol which means it could be sold anywhere within the state
I believe Chuck from Twister has some health issues I believe. I too have a Twister but just sold it due to not having a bundle base clientele. However I understand exactly what you are saying. Support is everything.
Thanks for the post. So I have heard of that and I am not one to throw rocks at anyone regardless. I am trying to be delicate and polite but also I must remind myself I am in business and not exclusively an influence. I need machines that work and I need support. So why plastic wrap? Here in VA i have noticed that people here have been buying more of our wood in the mesh bags. The reason for the switch is got tired of them retaining water and they look nasty after a rain storm.
Hi Nick. Here is a recent vid I made discussing this topic th-cam.com/video/Zu-KCmgKLK0/w-d-xo.html One of the machines I bought came with a case of blown wrap. I hate it! but since these bundles were not having the labels inserted I just used the blown to get rid of it. Thanks for watching Nick
I'm not good with numbers but my calculations are 40 bundles is darn near a 1/4 cord. I can buy a cord of firewood up the road for $180 so that is approx $45 for the wood
How could you not notice!!??!?! LOL. I didn't switch. This is an old roll that I am using up to get it out of my life. I don't use it on bundles with my label bc it is less transparent, as well as much louder than my good stuff.

Approximately how many bundles can you make per facecord? I can get $5 a bundle near me. If I can make 35 bundles per facecord then it would be worth the extra time and effort verses bulk where I can get $125 per facecord.
In theory you should be able to make 43 1cf bundles or 57 .75cf bundles. That is never the case bc you always will have sticks that aren't wrappable, knots, crooked, rotted etc.

Why don't you add some of your kindling pieces so that the customers have a ready to light and burn bundle. That would set your bundles apart from the rest.
My thoughts also, include enough for a couple of fires. When you use labels you could have on them “kindling included”. Of course you could charge a premium price
I don't want to sound flippant but there is no reason to add anything to a bundle. They sell fast and there really is no need to offer anything like an enticement etc to get them to move. Thanks Beenthere!
You're missing been's point, kindling would make it a light and burn bundle. Without kindling, a wad of paper, or charcoal lighter fluid you have no chance of having a campfire with the campfire bundle you just bought. You could make some with and some without kindling. I myself, given the option, would buy the one with kindling over one without kindling. even if it were a buck or two more. @@ohiowoodburner

Move your shrink wrap towards the motor. You can see in the video that the wrap isn't centered on the firewood.
Interesting. Now you are going to make me look. Thanks buddy
Compare what u know now which choice between twister and this go fast wrapper
Go Fast is better...I say that by the build quality and company response. The both do the same thing but there is less flex in the wheel when you torque the wrap when stretching. I like how the twister returns to home but that is also available on the Go Fast as an upgrade. Mine doesn't have it...it is just something to get used to
Joe, did yours come with the 10” x 10” basket,…or did you upgrade to the 12” x 12”?
Hi, how to you advertise for selling wood?
Great video
@@ohiowoodburner in Wisconsin u have to pass an annual inspection with the DATCP to get certified to sell seasoned or heat treated , Kiln dried wood bundles at a business. Which ever method u are going to use. If u choose seasoned the wood has to be dried 24 full months before selling. That's the issue.
I just found it too difficult to buy another Twister.
@@ohiowoodburner agreed. Nothing against Twister. I am in the same mindset. Like I said, support is an absolute must.
joe its all ways a good idea to have a back up machine good video joe
Thanks Bob. I agree.
So why plastic wrap? Here in VA i have noticed that people here have been buying more of our wood in the mesh bags. The reason for the switch is got tired of them retaining water and they look nasty after a rain storm.
All of mine are kept indoors at the retailer. I agree that rain gets trapped. I don't even deliver these when it's raining. I need a box truck
What about lowes ? I think theirs comes from another country. Can u stack it up in a row wher it is 4 by 8 so I can see how many there is in a rick
national retailers wouldn't deal with me. they use their warehouses and cross state lines. There is approx 42 in a rick at 1cf per bundle
I like your videos and Happy Thanksgiving
Thanks Carl!
If you don’t fill the wood holder section, will the bundler still wrap tightly?
Yes, it doesn't matter the amount of wood. The stretch wrap will snug around it
Why not just get a dedicated short wrench and fix it to that nylock. That way you have a handle always there to adjust the tension.
I actually thought of cutting one of my old wrenches in half. LOL. I will figure something out.
Joe,you know what you need to be in business it’s not your first rodeo you know what I’m saying 😮😊❤
Thanks Todd!
One video i watched you touted cast wrap in this one you’re using blown wrap. Why the switch?
Hi Nick. Here is a recent vid I made discussing this topic
th-cam.com/video/Zu-KCmgKLK0/w-d-xo.html
One of the machines I bought came with a case of blown wrap. I hate it! but since these bundles were not having the labels inserted I just used the blown to get rid of it. Thanks for watching Nick
so where in the video did you do the $200 an hour breakdown?
Good eye. LOL. that got edited out. I made 40 bundles in one hour while gabbing. Sell for $5 each
@@ohiowoodburner what was its value before bundling?🤔
I'm not good with numbers but my calculations are 40 bundles is darn near a 1/4 cord. I can buy a cord of firewood up the road for $180 so that is approx $45 for the wood
There are portable battery packs that can be charged with solar panels. They would be just the ticket for your yard.
Solar is my hobby. I charge these with my off grid system
Did i miss it somewhere? Approximately your sell price to the stores and what they sell it for? Just curious.
That part got edited out by accident LOL I made 40 bundles at $5 each
That bundle wrapper company is an hour drive from me!
I see you switched to the loud film
How could you not notice!!??!?! LOL. I didn't switch. This is an old roll that I am using up to get it out of my life. I don't use it on bundles with my label bc it is less transparent, as well as much louder than my good stuff.
Hi Milo, Reminds me of an old song. Wrap-A-Wrap-A-Wrap, they call him the Wrapper. Wrap, wrap, wrap, you know what he's after. Oh, wait a minute. I think that was "Rapper". Oh well, probably applies either way. LOL ❤ Shalom/gw
har har. I know the song well yoyo!
Nice video
Thanks ralph!
What gauge wrap are you using. I have 2 thinking about getting a bagger. What size bundles are they. I'm 90 % bundles
I use...and am a strong proponent for 90 gauge Cast wrap. Don't use anything else...trust me! I also think .75 cf is the best size. These in the vid today are somewhat larger
So, question is, at time of delivery to the store do they pay you? Seems obvious, but some places may want to do a commission on each bundle sold...?
I have no consignment agreements. Retail places call that "Pay on Scan." The prob there is I would be eating the theft etc. Whatever you want to do is ok but the places I do business with cut me a check
@@ohiowoodburnerthat’s how I would do it. I wouldn’t want to depend on my products to be sold over time at someone else’s place. I’d want my 💰 each time I delivered.
My local farmer sells eggs ,potatoes, jam, carrots . I said to him you need to sell fire wood bundles...he replied something else for me to do. I said think of the money
They aren't for everyone but they sure do sell nice
OK Joe if you do answer my comment could you give me the Web-Site for Austin on the Machine Bundler? As you know I do not sell my Wood but the Bundler would be the way for me to go and do it on the Side for me. I could find a place to sell it on the Side around the area. Was thinking about Bags but the Bundler for me would fit it very nicely. Keep your Great information up Buddy. I do believe you have great ideas and am always open for more. Ron from the Woodyard in Duanesburg NY.

thanks for your post ron!
RIP Twister 🪦⚰😭
Joe so how's the wood chip business going you haven't had a video in a while just curious
I did one back in the summer. They are doing just as I planned. I mostly sell to my restaurants and an occasional home owner as an add on sale.
How must does one of these go for?
They are in the upper $2ks...There are a number of features but u can see them at www.gofastmfg.com
@@ohiowoodburner nice one mate
Better than the twister?
The twister is a great machine but the Go Fast is better built. No question.
There is a sign up at the corner 100 bucks for a rick 4-8-16 u pick up I say wow 15 years ago I delivered it for 35 lol
firewood around here was $150 for a cord for about the last 20 years. It is now around $200
Send me your old one my 9 year old boy will put it to use he has been selling bundles and wants to buy an electric model
I am holding on to it for now. I want to have two for security

That's a Wrap! Well Dun
ha ha geezy! thanks for watching buddy
Did you pay for Go Fast?
I did not. It was given to me. Here is the vid where I discussed this
th-cam.com/video/XKQUZckHYB4/w-d-xo.html
And, thats a wrap.
har har!!
£8 for 10 logs in bag in the uk?no thanks!!💪😆😆👍
Yup bundles aren't for everyone Juzz
$7000 for that??? I'd pass like a NFL quarterback!!🤣🤣
??? Doesn't cost anywhere near that
$2400
All the bad info about Twister not answering and calling folks back…I guess they’re done.
I do not have direct info. I had received a number of calls asking how they can get in touch with them. My contact doesn't work there anymore.
information commercial for go fast video I guess
Call it what you want Billy.
