Great review. Agreed on the IR pollution. My only other gripe is rolling shutter. Maybe it is just the type of work I've been doing this year, but that rolling shutter has made me reach for my G2 more often. SDI would be awesome.

I would love to see them do a cube form factor cinema camera like the Z cam or Red Komodo. if they released a new Black Magic Micro cinema camera, with the quality of the 6k pro, id be super excited. maybe with an RF mount. but im happy with EF or PL. i love my 6k pro though, blew me away with the image quality
Y'all want a cube form like zcam and komodo but hope y'all ready to deal with those tiny useless screens as well kz cmon I really love the usable and tiltable screen on Bmpcc6k pro.
@@seunlamina the tilt screen is definitely great. but i already own decent external monitors from when i had the 4k rigged up. it definitely would require more rigging than the 6k pro for sure. but personally i really enjoy that part haha
Your videos always inspire us! Very good one actually. Super informative. Didn’t know you had the EOSR (that was my previous one) I must say that the bmpcc 6K pro has been the best camera I’ve tried so far. I made a good decision changing and I don’t regret it. Just the fact of having that image quality, those ports, the internal NDs, all those codecs and that screen for that prices is incredible. I still find the battery life poor. Maybe because, I never had the 4K; or had a canon before, or maybe because I made the mistake of buying a couple of third parties batteries. For the 3 wishes: 1. I would like to be able to see the percentage remaining in the battery (so far we see the voltage and….) 2. Agree with you about the card slot and 3. I would like to see in future models a different form factor (maybe more like a cube) THANK YOU 🙏
Thanks a lot brother! I did buy the EOS R for vlogging and photos! Love the cam :-). Can't you tab the battery icon to switch to % mode? I think the pocket 4k could do that, lol. And nice wishlist. I realllly hope they add the proxy mode... Saved SO much time and hassle in post.
Thanks for the thoughtful video. Btw I think the simple studio set up works very well and is a very elegant and minimalist solution to show a tungsten practical in the back ground with “daylight” key. Very cinematic! As for the camera all agreed and for personal projects it’s great. I spent the last two years using the 4K on commercial work by the production companies request and since it all ends up on the web it makes sense. Also never a problem setting up a multi camera shoot as everyone has one. Of course the image is amazing and the 6k still seems to have so much detail and clarity compared to c70 and fx6 but absolutely the blacks really suffer. I just don’t understand how bm have taken all that trouble to get such an amazing picture and allow the most basic and obvious issue of IR pollution to kill it. An IR filter is absolutely essential. That said the 6k needs an entire redesign as unless it’s used stripped down, it’s flaws become embarrassingly obvious when doing “professional” work across use cases specifically regarding integration. A more modular camera design makes the camera so much more adaptable. Shoulder rig, gimbal, car mount, drone?? It’s not a camera that can go to the “next level” or even pretends to whereas a Komodo or fx6 at least try and as a result have ecosystems built around them. Of course the price makes it a no brainer and it can be very low profile when it needs to be but there has to be a better way forward and given the price drop of the 12k I get the feeling that anything is possible if bm had the intention. On so many levels given their interest in studio remote set ups a brain first camera makes sense. By time the camera is rigged up with accessories it becomes expensive and unattractive. It dictates a shooting style rather than inspires a range. For the work you have posted It seems perfect but I would be interested to know what you’re ambition is? If it’s a life style/travel style content creator then I guess it makes sense so stay as low profile as possible but you seem very talented and I would imagine that your ambitions might make you think of other more expanded set ups rigs and cameras. I’d be interested to know. Meanwhile Thanks again for the excellent content and keep on keeping on!
That is by far the most amazing comment so far. The amount of time you spend to write this means a lot. To answer your questions; my ambitions are more tailored toward documentary work, but lately more commercial projects came around. I love shooting with this cam because of the body, screen and image quality. Right now, im on one of the Azores Island shooting a mountainbike movie. Running in rainforests and very dynamic situations, I think this camera really shines. However, the body situations, yes, I agree for more static set work. But then I’d go for an Alexa. If they ever make a body like komodo or arri, I will probably get my hands on it too.. I think bm is creating a base, where they can expand upon! I think every camera has its place, and you just gotta find yours with the pockets!
@@SjoerdWess thanks for your reply and have fun shooting. The Amira for sure is a great doc cam but if you ever get the chance try a kinefinity. Impractical support and a very Chinese UI but the closest image to an arri if you like a film look. And a cube??! Unfortunately they are kind of screwed with no raw workflow and they have tried to build their own proprietary accessories but their 444 is stunning. Take care and keep up the good work.

Love the honest and direct approach in your videos man, congrats. I bought the 4K a few months ago, mostly due to price and a more convenient mount to adapt any lens. Do you think there is a HUGE difference between the 6K and 4k? I'm stoked with the images I'm getting btw!
Mate! Thanks for watching. And no, the 4k is INCREDIBLE. I've done soooo much with that camera and it still is a beast. The only reason I sold it, is because I have the 6k pro. If I hadn't, the 4k would still suite me perfectly!
The Pocket 4K is amazing for the price. It has all you need to create excellent work. This is a step ahead in terms of usability for the tilting bright screen and the internal NDs. I'd rather have the great 4K braw files, with the 6K if I want full sensor braw I must have 6K files. Auch! that's too much for me!

I'd love to have more then 2 audio layers. Having multiple wireless mics and still have internal audio would be great. I'm not sure if i'd trade the second mini-xlr for sdi, but that's just not my use-case (yet).
Interesting! Fun to hear how people use this camera. The Timecode option this cam provides, makes it interesting to use a tentacle with. However, thanks for sticking around until the end Maurice!

Is good to have a place to film. You minimize the friction on doing and makes all the process more simple and easy. And, probably, will put another part of yourself in this videos. It's cool, we can watch the development happening. Great work yooo!
Ok, there you have some ideas for next BMPCC wishlist. No crop, 4k downscaled to hd in the camera in raw. Eye autofocus, cube form factor like Komodo, and last but not least SSD slot like old BM production camera or maybe M2 hard drive slot. Modular design to can add V lock or other modules.
Refreshing to hear your take on having a minimal set up. Seems like everyone with a 6k pro is rigging the hell out of it. I'm more interested o see if this model can be used slimmed down in the field - which it looks like it does!
You've found the right guy! I am using nothing else than the body, battery, lens and card haha. Bigger shoots (less dynamic) require me to rig it out, but usually, less is more!
@@SjoerdWess Good to hear. I don’t want to get into hundreds/thousands of dollars of extra gear. Besides a tripod and a slider. How was the screen in broad daylight? Did you use the eyepiece ? Sorry if you covered in your video.

Hey Sjoerd. Nice review, good job !! Here is my problem. I'm planning a world tour and I'm taking a camera with me. My gh5 crashed on the floor a couple month ago and I have a bmpcc4k. Took my Bmpcc4k to Iceland this summer. The image is insane but i'ts a nightmare to use, you know right 😂 I might change completely to a new system like the fx3 but the image coming from BM is insane for the price. Do you think it's doable to carry the 6Kpro all the time ? Can you rig it easily on a rs2 ? Cheers
Laurent! Damn, planning a wold tour sounds dope af!!! I took the 6K pro with me everywhere, as long as you don't drop it (as you shouldn't with any cam) it will keep on working perfectly. No matter the situation I was in, the pocket always worked. I feel like it's a lotttt more reliable than the 4k. Also, the screen makes it SO nice to use, since you can literally see everything, everywhere. Also, mounting it on a RS2 is no issue. Done it many times! Cheers buddy! Good luck on planning!
@@SjoerdWess Thanks a ton for your quick answer !! Yes it's a big project we have with my girlfriend and hopefully next year the situation will be better to travel around. So you say you had no issue with balancing it on an rs2 (without counterweights) ? Cheers
Hi Very interesting video. The idea about SD card is really good - 2 questions about your gear - When you are on the bridge, what 35mm lens is it ? And what smallrig rig plate under your camera ? Do you have the links for configuration ? - Personnally I would like tou buy the 6K version, Pro a little bit too expensive for my budget - Thanks a lot
The lens is a 35mm Leica R lens, which is a vintage lens. The plate is a simple (cheapest) rod plate from Smallrig. It’s linked in my bio, under ‘full kit’! Thanks mate :-)
Hello Sjoerd, been watching a lot of your videos and after subscribing, I can say without a doubt that you're the authority on Black magic. I would love if you can give me insight on how you handle storage..with back up and all and why you don't shoot on an ssd..would also want to know the kind of system requirement I would need in a real life scenario to edit braw footages...I'm this close to buying this camera..
Mate! Thanks so much for the kind words. I us CFAST since its safer. It sits internally instead of with a flimsy cable! I’d go for the m1 macbook. Its a beast for a very good price! I backup on 12tb hdd and unlimited plan from dropbox
@@SjoerdWess I'm a bit like you with my P4K, I don't complain really, so many boxes ticked for so little money °¬) If mine had the screen and battery from the 6KPro, I'd be happy with everything else. not even that fussed about internal ND (as they come at a cost of size)...
I made a stills preset! In that preset I changed the formatting to be fractions and then you can use photography numbers instead of degrees and it works like a slow SLR with no way to preview the images. But they look great!
@@SjoerdWess I've been running with the Pocket 6K for a year. Have yet to make the leap to the Pro. But the internal ND's and monitor are super tempting. Also, did you get those watch shots with the Sigma 50-100mm? Looked great!
I believe its a great update. Especially the screen.. so nice! Nope! The watches were done with the Laowa lens. Check the full video on my channel. I included a full BTS :-)
You're the only one that has caught on to the incredible stills this camera takes. The dynamic range is mind-blowing. I was hoping it could be my little secret... but glad others are putting it to good use 😜
I would like to see an SSD Mag option to mount via USB-C port, and it could sit directly behind the flip screen monitor. Tilta did this with the 6K, and it's by far my favorite upgrade to any camera system I've done. I also wish the flip screen would rise up when tilted, instead of lowering down, that would allow you to keep your monitor higher as you tilt it, instead of it going lower. Again, Tilta did this right with the flip-screen upgrade to the original 6K.
Ahhh I see! Sounds interesting! But why not just purchase one cfast card? I did this, which completely eliminated the need for an SSD and a flimsy cable :-)
@@SjoerdWess the SSD Mag doesn't require a cable. The USB-C port sticks out in the back of the camera and the mag plugs directly into it. It's very secure when seated and sits flush on the body, so you can close your flip-screen completely down. The media is affordable in comparison to Cfast, can be transferred without the use of a Cfast card reader via USB-C cable and is flexible for other use cases if desired. I'm not hating on Cfast, but I find the SSD Mag to be a flexible and more affordable option.
Great video, there's always improvement on soft but the main thing for me is Global Shutter and RF mount with adapter EF because RF can use converter to PL or any lens really aswell focal reducer!!. For the red contamination, I did the second version of OLPF Rawlite and I loved easy to install and fixed all that on my B6k.
@Sjoerd Wess yes I can't complain the new version rocks! There no more those red dots when film straight any light , you will need to adjust slightly the white balance of the screen on settings to compensate I felt but I shoot always raw so at the end the day little mistakes I can fix easily. Other then that I filmed some shots with only black objects and darker patterns and it was a big change no more redish blacks loved!
Great video! I have had mine like a month. Agree big time on time lapse shutter speed. What if they had a plug module that could swap kinda how the insta 360 is kinda modular. But with sdi option, etc. cheers
Thanks for this assessment Sjoerd. I am soooo close to pulling the trigger on the pro. As an editor, I often need to stabilize footage - and am concerned that shooting with no ibis makes for a risk a poor stabilization in post. With the Sigma 18-35mm f1.8 that I basically feel obliged to buy - would I need to use it on the RS to 'run and gun'? Or would you recommend a stabilized 2.8 type of lens - and the 18-35 on sticks for locked off shots? Also, I am in the camp where I like having the on board audio - 2 lavs and a shotgun. (one man run and gun) Thanks for these videos, Rob
Robert! Thanks for checking the video man! I think the image the pocket creates is one of a kind. But if stabilized footage is an absolute must, then perhaps check the C70 (canon) or A7Siii. However, I think the handheld feel is beautiful, and often really enjoy that with the pocket and sigma 18-35. I just got home from 3 weeks of filming abroad. Didn't touch my tripod once, all handheld and loved every clip. You'll get better at shooting handheld as you go ;-). Regarding the audio, that would be possible, right!
@@SjoerdWess Thanks! I will take your advice. Some natural movement is nice - I will just have to learn it. Microjitters are a no-go - but there is Resolve for some of that. Also - seems that I can get the pro with lens for the cost of an Ibis body. So there ya go!
@@robertpostma5 just make your camera rig heavy, will fix the problems. with handheld. the heavy the rig the more still your shots more still. if you do shoot with a 50mm lens and light camera you will have so much "micro jitters" making ibis or ios necesarry, the wider you go the less jitters.
@@raydoee Thanks Ray. I do like the idea of the minimal setup - grab and go camera/lens/mic - but I hear what you are saying. Will look into a heavy-ish minimal rig I suppose.
I am about to buy a 6k Pro. So stoked! I wanted to ask... would you do a quick tutorial about how to use a follow focus handheld? Sometimes I wish I had three arms so I could hold the top handle, pull focus, and hold the camera steady. What is the best ergonomic way to use the 6k pro? Just a suggestion... Thanks!
Stoked for YOU Josh! You'll love it. And, I just recorded a video talking about the Follow Focus, but I didn't include all of what you suggested. I noted it down!
Freelance videographer using a Panasonic G7 body for my kit. Most of my video work are interviews but this upgrade will give me more tools to get better at filming a variety of B-roll. Also another camera to throw around :D Started using anamorphic lens, needed a monitor to desqueeze and looking for an upgrade. Looking at reviews the BMPCC 6K has a lot of things I want: Anamorphic support Ports MFT Mount 120 FPS High Quality The look More video focus camera Only issues I can see is: Limited screen flip Power hungry Auto focus (But I've slowly been switching to manual to improve) Purchasing extra products before use (But that will be with any new camera)
Loved the way you've shared your views about BMPCC 6K PRO, I have a set of CP2 Lenses (PL Mount) would it be wise to use this camera using the EF to PL mount adapter.
He Sjoerd, goede review man. Zorgt zo'n IR cut filter niet voor andere colorshifts waar je rekening mee moet houden? En is het mogelijk om eventueel nog een promist filter voor de IR filter te plaatsen in een mattebox zonder dat het van negatieve invloed is op je beelden?
Thanks man! Je krijgt een lichtelijke groene tint, maar dit is heel makkelijker weg te werken. Overall heel tevreden mee. En yes, je kan stacken! Geen issues!
amazing video and precious informations. I really like the way you explain every little detail. I might have missed something probably but here is something that it is not clear to me. Leica R lenses, like the one I've noticed in this video, don't need any adaptor on BMCC 6K? youunnoticeable I
Honestly I'm about to go back to my minimalist setup cuz right now I'm using a v mount battery with a Gimbal and a screen on top and for some reason I feel hindered when it comes to my shots. I feel more creative When there's less
Do you have a list of your minimalist rig setup for the 6k pro? How secure is screwing the handle directly to the top of camera? Will the thread be strong enough to hold? Thanks.
@@SjoerdWess Just shot with it over this past weekend for the first time! I just used my Canon EF lenses. I did have an issue which was instantly fixed in post. I had it on 24fps, but for some reason it was playing back in slowmotion. But the audio was real time. So I fixed it. I think I hit the wrong settings over something. But Great camera I was sad to give it back to the rental company.
I generally have a conclusion about the camera that it works much better when shooting 50 fps than 24... the blurr effect reduces sharpness of the image dramatically. I tested 60fps with 200% speed and it's still fine. What is your experience about it? Also when switching from 24 fps to 50 there are some automatic changes of settings. DO you have any advice how to deal with that? When an object/face is moving in 24 the blurr is killing the sharpness massively. When 50fps is on the footage is absolutely fine and cinematic like.
Its really user depended I guess. Blur has everything to do with your shutterspeed/angle. You can shoot 25fps and still get the same sharpness youre getting in 50fps. Try setting your shutterspeed to another number.
@@SjoerdWess I stick to the 180dego rule, I don't touch the shutter speed but I can try. I don't mean fast movements of the subject like nodding a head or so.
@@SjoerdWess Certainly, but I am considering recording rather than playback. What exactly changes except fps and shutter speed? I asked the question to BM support. Let's see.

@@SjoerdWess thank you! Can I ask you about lenses, What do you think about Rokinon cine DS lenses ? I saw many people using photo lenses on this camera but I believe that it will be a better choice getting a full set of cine lenses that a couple of photo ones… what do you think?
I think cine lenses are great. However, chose a lens for the character not for the price. A sigma photo lens is great since it is tack sharp. Dive into what you like in a lens and base your purchase on that finding!

Well, right now I am getting bashed on Facebook for having the handle like that, but I love it lol. It does feel sturdy. However, I rarely use the camera in it's rigged out form like this tho. But yea, it does work perfectly!
Great review. My wish list: 1. Allow one of the ports to be lanc compatible. Or make an accessory remote for the usb c port. With the DJI RS2 you can trigger record, pull focus and more. 2. Make the auto focus and auto exposure assignable. 3. As the camera has horizon level check, it means it must have a built in gyro. If the data from the gyro could be recorded and later used in post to stabilise the footages. 4. Ability to manually switch between viewfinder and lcd screen. 5. Timecode drift. If you don't use the camera for a week, the timecode drifts. 6. Add wifi for remote app with live view. 7. Add numerical values to the LCD calibration menu. 8. Add a +/_ icon on menus with sliders. 9. Improve signal noise in shadow areas. 10. As it has dual iso technology, why not use that for an HDR option Apart from (6), I believe the rest is software based and can be implemented by a firmware update. I'm not an engineer in no way, but if someone could hack the camera like they did with magic lantern, we could eventually see some real magic (black or white, who cares).
@@SjoerdWess Cheers. I was wondering how bad is the IR pollution. Have you done any tests indoors with and without the IR cut filter to see if there's any difference? Would also love to know if the IR cut filters affect skin tone.
Thanks for the vid! I'm a P4K user and I love BMD and Braw. But I'm not sure about buying 6k pro. I'm confident, that the day I buy it, they will release something like 8k full frame with Komodoish form factor)
In my opinion, BlackMagic needs to work on better image stabilization; sometimes I just want to shoot a clip handheld, maybe close to the ground and I don't want to handle a big setup. Besides that, it would be great with a better low-light performance
Image stabilization in FCPROX works great. I've had a lot of shaky handheld shots on my current Canon 80D that I use that have been smoothed out nicely using that function in Final Cut.
With the latest firmware update you get gyro stabilization... you can shoot 6k with wider lens and stabilize it in davinci to get great looking naturally smooth 4k footage without micro gitters.
I have pocket 6k, And I really like everything about that but I found some issue in this camera maybe my mistake(I don't know) when you use depth of field in Low F there is some red line around your focus subject
SD card is quite useful to have additional storage, not to film in BRAW but works with ProRes422. I use with the BMCCP4K to do b-rolls. Very great video !
@@SjoerdWess it's sincere. Thanks to you, as a beginner I learn about IR contamination. We learn every day. Coming from a sound engineer point of view I really enjoy two XLR preamp for stereo. I wish for better rolling shutter and accelerometer data to be recorded along the BRAW for fast and perfect looking stabilization in davinci resolve like the sony a7 s3 is able to do. Also auto focus is something a lot of people wish for so maybe that too.
@@SjoerdWess Fullframe won't do much for rolling shutter :/ I have an a7 3 (FF) and the rolling shutter is still bad. Except if you meant global shutter...that is something you find on reds and would be a wet dream if it came to the BMPCC :P

TOMORROW!!!!
I'm so excited! XD
F*ck
YEAAAA MAN!!
I can imagine. Would be so easy on gimbals and such!
Y'all want a cube form like zcam and komodo but hope y'all ready to deal with those tiny useless screens as well kz cmon I really love the usable and tiltable screen on Bmpcc6k pro.
That is exactly my pount. Therefore I love the pocket..
@@seunlamina the tilt screen is definitely great. but i already own decent external monitors from when i had the 4k rigged up. it definitely would require more rigging than the 6k pro for sure. but personally i really enjoy that part haha
That’s definitely fair man! Rigging is fun. Except for when shooting in forests far from your tent. Haha
Thanks mate! Im shooting a gig on Kine in October! Curious :-)

Hello Sjoerd, great shots and review, thanks! BTW - is there a dead pixel in the two night shots around 0:56 (lower left)? Or some noise artifact?

Sounds good!

Hi Very interesting video. The idea about SD card is really good - 2 questions about your gear - When you are on the bridge, what 35mm lens is it ? And what smallrig rig plate under your camera ? Do you have the links for configuration ? - Personnally I would like tou buy the 6K version, Pro a little bit too expensive for my budget - Thanks a lot

Really good. Loved the point about the timelapses. I have the P4K and used that feature once before going back to my Sony for time lapses...
Man if they'd include that... I will cry I think.
@@SjoerdWess I'm a bit like you with my P4K, I don't complain really, so many boxes ticked for so little money °¬) If mine had the screen and battery from the 6KPro, I'd be happy with everything else. not even that fussed about internal ND (as they come at a cost of size)...
I can imagine man! Who knows they bring out something new soon!
I made a stills preset! In that preset I changed the formatting to be fractions and then you can use photography numbers instead of degrees and it works like a slow SLR with no way to preview the images. But they look great!

@@SjoerdWess I think it's because... no one has thought to make a dual ISO stills camera, and that's essentially what the BMPCC6k can be?
True!
Great video as always mate!
Thanks buddy!
I used SSDs as well. However, I've got two Angelbird 256gb cards, and I'm never going back. The security is so nice! But, ye, I do get your point!
Your footage is gorgeous man! Great work. Got me wanting to sell my Sony kit lol
Thanks dude! Sony is also good. Not as good as the pocket tho... Haha. Kidding. I'd say the lenses you end up shooting with are most important!
Nice! I checked this out as well. Great addition to the camera
But with sdi option, etc. cheers
Thanks man!
(one man run and gun)
Thanks for these videos,
Rob
Nice man!! Im sure you’ll love it :-)
@@robertpostma5 just make your camera rig heavy, will fix the problems. with handheld. the heavy the rig the more still your shots more still. if you do shoot with a 50mm lens and light camera you will have so much "micro jitters" making ibis or ios necesarry, the wider you go the less jitters.
@@raydoee Thanks Ray. I do like the idea of the minimal setup - grab and go camera/lens/mic - but I hear what you are saying. Will look into a heavy-ish minimal rig I suppose.

Its the same thing as you do now except the 25 extra recorded frames which you dont use.
Of course, if you do slow it down then shoot slomo.
@@SjoerdWess Certainly, but I am considering recording rather than playback. What exactly changes except fps and shutter speed? I asked the question to BM support. Let's see.
Nothing. Higher frame rate means higher shutterspeed if you set it to angle. Thus snappier footage

I think cine lenses are great. However, chose a lens for the character not for the price. A sigma photo lens is great since it is tack sharp. Dive into what you like in a lens and base your purchase on that finding!
Be nice if they could change it to a RF mount so with an adapter you can have a full frame and better low light
Sounds good man!
thanks for the informative video. i'm thinking of getting the BMPCC 6K PRO to film surfing with a telephoto 400mm lens. any recommendations? i haven't found any surfing specific information on youtube. maybe you could do one i bet there would be a lot of interest. is autofocus important when filming surfing with a telephoto?
Thanks mate!
The sigma 100-400 is amaaaazing for this. Get a lens support tho. And no, autofocus aint important :-)
@@SjoerdWess maaaate thanks for the prompt reply. how did you know i was from australia haha
Hahah, I like to think you people influence me. Never been there, but Aussies I’ve met are just always so lovely. So I started saying mate often hahaha
Yo man does that top handle feel sturdy attached to just the body like that? I was thinking about doing the same.
Well, right now I am getting bashed on Facebook for having the handle like that, but I love it lol. It does feel sturdy. However, I rarely use the camera in it's rigged out form like this tho. But yea, it does work perfectly!
@@SjoerdWess haha, people on FB are the worst. Thanks for answering :)
Haha they are
What lens was the vintage one?
Leica R lenses
Great review. My wish list:
10. As it has dual iso technology, why not use that for an HDR option
Apart from (6), I believe the rest is software based and can be implemented by a firmware update.
I'm not an engineer in no way, but if someone could hack the camera like they did with magic lantern, we could eventually see some real magic (black or white, who cares).
Sounds like a really solid list! Ill forward it :-)!
@@SjoerdWess Cheers. I was wondering how bad is the IR pollution. Have you done any tests indoors with and without the IR cut filter to see if there's any difference? Would also love to know if the IR cut filters affect skin tone.
Are there any anamorphic lenses compatible with this camera mount? Please advice.
Not sure actually
Internal nds are irnds, aren't they?
They claim them to be yes
Thanks for the vid! I'm a P4K user and I love BMD and Braw. But I'm not sure about buying 6k pro. I'm confident, that the day I buy it, they will release something like 8k full frame with Komodoish form factor)
Hahaha, I am very aware. Maybe wait until IBC :-)
How do you get stable footage without any extra weight?
Make sure to add as much contact points to you and your body. Very important!
Blackmagic wishlist
1. Make the body a cube like the Komodo so it's easy to build out
2. Faster sensor read out / less rolling shutter
Agreed on both mate!
In my opinion, BlackMagic needs to work on better image stabilization; sometimes I just want to shoot a clip handheld, maybe close to the ground and I don't want to handle a big setup. Besides that, it would be great with a better low-light performance
Thanks for sharing man! I am not a fan of ibis, but can imagine its useful for some
Image stabilization in FCPROX works great. I've had a lot of shaky handheld shots on my current Canon 80D that I use that have been smoothed out nicely using that function in Final Cut.
Cool! Im might try it out!
With the latest firmware update you get gyro stabilization... you can shoot 6k with wider lens and stabilize it in davinci to get great looking naturally smooth 4k footage without micro gitters.
Its quite remarkable!
Is it a Netflix approved camera?
It's not on the list. But that doesnt mean films shot with this cam wont make it to Netflix
Hi Sjoerd, do you have link of your seamless focus gear ring on Sigma 18-35?
Those are custom made, but the Tilta focus gears work great too! Just google that and you’re good!
I have pocket 6k, And I really like everything about that but I found some issue in this camera maybe my mistake(I don't know) when you use depth of field in Low F there is some red line around your focus subject
That is focus peaking, am I wrong? Check it on the monitor tab.
SD card is quite useful to have additional storage, not to film in BRAW but works with ProRes422. I use with the BMCCP4K to do b-rolls. Very great video !
Thanks a lot mate!
@@SjoerdWess it's sincere. Thanks to you, as a beginner I learn about IR contamination. We learn every day. Coming from a sound engineer point of view I really enjoy two XLR preamp for stereo. The quality of integrated mic though are crazy good on these cameras. Few people mention it but it is a credible solution.
I think so too! The sounds is insanely good, especially for ambient :-)
I wish for better rolling shutter and accelerometer data to be recorded along the BRAW for fast and perfect looking stabilization in davinci resolve like the sony a7 s3 is able to do. Also auto focus is something a lot of people wish for so maybe that too.
I wish they implemented a FF sensor. That would help with the rolling shutter :-)
@@SjoerdWess Fullframe won't do much for rolling shutter :/ I have an a7 3 (FF) and the rolling shutter is still bad. Except if you meant global shutter...that is something you find on reds and would be a wet dream if it came to the BMPCC :P
Ah really? I always thought a ff sensor does wonders to that haha. And yes, global shutter would be a dream..
Hey what's the best lens for it ?
Sigma 18/35
I would like eos r mount instead of ef mount
I dont see the need tho :-).
First of all tnx for your all effort ! and here is the q : do u think this camera still worth to buy in 2023 ? did you feel major differents when you use fx6 ? tnx in advance
Cheers! Definitely worth buying! Its an amazing camera. The two are very different, so hard to compare it tbh!
