The lot included a Fatboy, Black Beauty, a beautiful Gillette Tech (ball handle in a case), a fat handle pre war Tech, three Old Types (one with case, beautiful condition!), a Gem single edge in case, a Lady Gillette, a Super Slim Twist, two other Gems, a NOS travel Tech in case with original blade, a razor/brush stand, wood lather bowl, vintage brush, two Gillette 70s blade dispensers, and a hand hair cutter! I got all this for just $30 +$13 shipping!! I know the vintage razor prices have gone up significantly due to the hobby growing, but if you are patient, the deals will come! Good head shave with the 5-blade Gillette fancy monster ... for carts I do like the 2-bladed SkinGuard and the blades fit any Proguard handle but like you said the carts cost a small fortune, luckily I don't use the carts very often, more for keeping my hand in.👌😎👌
For me face is DE only but head I start with R41 to mow down 4-7 days of growth going gently with the with the grain and always finish with schick hydro or schick sport against the grain. Never any cuts and bbs shave. Heaving multiple blades that flex on pivoting head can't be beat for head shaves. Anyone saying they get better closer head shave with DE razor never tried pivoting multiblade razors. It's soo much faster, especially when you stretch the skin for that super close shave against the grain.
