I really like the Henson as well, one of my top 3 DE razors to shave with, I have the + and ++, the ++ is just a bit more efficient doesn't feel much more aggressive to me. Glad to hear you are feeling better Chris🙏🤠👌

504, go Chris, go Chris. You can unscrew the Henson half a turn to make it a lot more aggressive. It will not spin on you as the head takes a lot of force to clamp down on the blade. I unscrew it to increase the blade gap for first pass with the grain and then clamp it all the way down for last pass

Hey Chris! Congratulations on the 500 subscriber club! I have the Gamechanger with the .84 plate. It is one of my favorite modern razors!! You can't go wrong with that purchase! I use it with a Gillette Wilkinson Sword blade or with one of my new favorite blades, a Gillette Nacet. RazoRock always has some terrific razors at great pricing! One razor I am awaiting to arrive is the Fine DE5. I got a good deal off ebay from a seller. It is brand new. He had 3, so he sold two of them. I'll give a report if you like on how it performs. Also I purchased the Sterling Vanilla and Sandalwood soap and aftershave after your recent review. Scent is incredible. Try the Gamechanger 1.05 baseplate. Incredibly smooth and efficient.

just start DE Shaving Month Ago and i am in the third razor that is the Merkur Futur... I shave with proraso sensitive skin pre shave and soap and use a alum block to finish and see if i damage my skin and no sting at all...all smooth daily shaving on level 2,75(almost thr e) and have the futur since friday! Finish with Nívea sensitive pro! I had the best shaves of my Life with that set and worm water not hot not cold! Thank you for the review! Have a wonderfull 2025

The Lord L6 and Lord L127 have the same mild-shaving, good-performance head. They both have the same length handle, with the L127 weighing only ONE gram more (18 grams vs 17 for the L6). Given the knurling/shape of the handle, I expected a heavier handle like the Merkur handle. I was disappointed to see the top of the L127 handle has the same "ledge and open hole" before getting to actual threads. Neither my L6 or L127 head gets more than "almost two full turns" before seating the handle against the head. The fix is to cut 4mm off the end of the handle to get more thread contact...and that "almost two full turns" is without a blade loaded in the head! Lord made this one look great...like a long-handled Merkur 33C, but they missed the mark with their really light handle with little available thread (again). For comparison, my Merkur 15C (open comb) short handle weighs 29 grams! I find my Lord L6 head shimmed with two "blanked blades" (cutting edges cut off) between actual cutting/shaving blade and base, screwed to a heavier handle (like my Merkur 15C handle) to be just about perfect! (Shimming like so: Cap, razor blade, two shims, base-plate, handle) In short, there is no substantial difference beyond the knurling/handle diameter between the L6 (narrower handle) and the L127 (wider handle). Come on, Lord! Give us your great cost-beater head with more thread contact in the handle, and a more substantial handle. Doing that would make your good, solid razor great! 48 hours later edit: PS I love my Lord L6 (and L5 Tech-clone). The same razor head has been in my collection for over five years, and is a regular in my rotation. I taught my boys to shave with their own L6's. One chose to go to the L5 later, and one flip-flops his L6 with a straight razor. Ive even introduced others to DE shaving by purchasing new L6s for them. In fact, I've emailed Lord corporate several times over the last four years. Each time I asked for a heavier handle with more thread contact. I even mentioned the short Merkur handle should be their model/inspiration. So please note, I'm not hating on Lord.

Working my way through a Treet blade sampler of amazon. Not a fan of them. One day i will get a good shave next its a ok shave. Set my razor with the more aggressive plate with them.

In these Inflationary Times. HERE IS AN EASY WAY TO DO IT MY FRIENDs Use any hard Bar Soap, Tallow or Glycerin based Soaps out there? To fit in any Mugs or Cups? Like" (Mitchells' Wool Fat or Arko Sticks. Just to name a few of them?) You can mix and match your old Soaps? Cut up the soap on a paper plate, pour your soap chunks with the shavings from the Paper Plate into a Mug, cover the soap with a small amount of water, and microwave your soap. For about a minute or so? Place a paper plate under your mug in case it bubbles out of your cup? If it foams up, STOP. The water keeps it from burning itself up. (DON'T OVER WATER YOUR SOAP??) Easy, does it? Let cool don't want to Crack the Mugs or Cups you're using? (You just want it to Congeal in your Mug or Cup') it is very hot and watery'''''. let it cool in . PLACE'. after it cools, put it in a Sunny Window, until the Soap hardens? When using your soaps, use Dry Brush Less Water. It thickens the soap Paint it on, making it easier to use on your face. I Have My 1986 Wooden Handle it's The Same as Yours it came with A Case And Original Blades That i Bought From Ebay i Put it in Lysol Because i Need to Clean it Up i Tried it and I'm impressed

Do not let the two-blades versus more than two-blades idea fool you! Barbasol Classic 2 disposable with twin-blade head gave me much more irritation than BICFlex3 or than BIC Sensitive3 (both them being triple-blade razor head). And you already are familiar with using Gill. Mach3.

Way way the opposite or other way around here. I much prefer double edge razor for face shaves, and depending on a few things prefer certain disposable razors to shave my head.

Does this Gillette 7 O'clock sterling have anything with numbers or even the name Gillette on it? If so then I'm sold!

I’ve paired it with Astra superior platinum blades and having the best shave so far for quite a while.It is milder than merkur 38C to my face anyway.I would not call it mild i think Rockwell 2C R1 plate is mild.I always get it done in two paths with and against the grain.Of course there are spots that need attention like some areas of neck and jaw line.The half way down the handle knurling might quite the reverse reduce the contact area unlike polished side.Anyway it doesn’t slip out of my hand even a bit!I like its weight but design wise it is nothing special although the shave i get outweighs it.Happy shaving guys👍🏻

Nice looking head shave, pity about those disposables, I'm still thinking of trying to do some myself. Those Yaqi defect brushes are good value, sometimes the defect is just the wrong knot in the handle.👌🤠👌

Hey Chris! What an acquisition!! Enjoy that one! I just picked up at an antique store a Fatboy, 1932 Gillette Tech (made in Canada)with a bakelite handle (near perfect condtion!), a 1917 Gillette single ring, two Gillette blade banks, and a mid 60s Gillette travel pack with Superspeed, unopened blade dispenser, Heads Up hair cream, and Gillette Sun Up aftershave bottle with just a skosh remaining! All that for just $52. My other acquisition was a beautiful Gillette blue tip Superspeed with a case and blades, all in excellent condition! That was just $25 + shipping. Great find. The civilian set will say "made in USA" on the base plate, mirror and inside of the case. Military issued ones will say "property US army" on the same locations
