    Great Job!! This was really fun to watch! You did a great brooder thing there! And the baby chick tussle was adorable and hilarious at same time! Can’t wait to see more!

    I like the video and love that you showed us how you built it and how you made sure the walls would fit right. What light did you use and how is it set up? Is it on 24/7?

      It’s a standard brooder light. It’s like an old school drop light but a protective cover on the face.

      Yes it is on 24/7 but when they hit 4 weeks old I’ll probably turn the light off altogether unless it gets down below freezing

    how do you keep it cleaned out?

      When it starts to smell, I add more wood shavings. After a week or two the wood chips start soft composting. Beginning depth was 3.5 inches. A month later I sit about 6 inches. Haven’t really cleaned it out yet. When it starts smelling even after adding a little more wood shavings, I’ll shovel about 1/2 out of it to use in the garden.
