You handle the chickens and quail like a champ.😊
Thanks Ms Shirley! I’ve gotten much better!
You're getting better and better! ❤
That garlic can also become a great addition to your herbal remedies. 🌱
Awwww thank you!
Thanks for mentioning that. I tried them in honey before but forgot to burp the jar 🤦🏾♀️🤣 so I didn’t use it.
I'm interested in raising quails 🤩 thanks for sharing!
You’re welcome. Happy to share! They are pretty cool to have and can serve to purposes.

Hi Nicole! I’m happy you enjoy them. I really enjoy sharing! 🤗
Great idea to make the garlic powder so nothing is wasted. Congrats on moving the chicks outside.
Thank you! I’m trying my hardest not to let things go to waste this year. Thanks, so happy they aren’t in my laundry room anymore lol
You got many good things going on busy lady👍🏾😊
Thanks Michael!
Love the videos. You have me ready to order quail. 😂.
Thanks! Happy you like them! Lol they are so cool to have and provides to two food sources. They are also really cold tolerant too! Get some 🤣!
Great idea to make garlic powder! I'm dehydrating my first harvest of chives today (I have two bunches that come back each year) - and I used most of the blossoms for chive blossom vinegar. Feels great to get stuff that we grew preserved 😊
Thank you! Awesome! Chive blossom vinegar sounds delicious. I absolutely agree!!
Loving your videos, over here from Mrs.H at Homestead Heart, she mentioned you. Glad to be here, from Middle GA, Zone 8A! Much love

@@YellowDoorUrbanHomestead Thank you, well if you start noticing an uptick in subscribers and or people mentioning Homestead Heart and or Mrs. and Mr H, then ya know you were mentioned LOL but here to support and love how transparent you are and you made me think I might want quail now 😁
The chickens were getting ready peck your toes lol. I love making garlic powder. The flavor is so much better than store bought of course.
Lol that’s all they do! O cool! This will be my first time. Happy to hear that . Can’t wait to try it. Do you use the dehydrator?
❤❤❤congratulations 🎉🎉🎉 on the babies

They've really grown. You two are doing a great job. Continued blessings 😊
They have. The little babies don’t stay babies long. Thank you! Blessings to you as well!!

@@YellowDoorUrbanHomestead Thank you!! I am already learning so much!!!
Love you, the gardening and the family. ❤
Thank you! 🤗
Love your channel, I have just started growing my outdoor in city limits garden. I am learning a lot from you, thank you.
Thank you! Happy to hear that. O yay! That’s exciting! Glad the videos are helpful.
Great job, 😊fam ❤
Thank you!
Yes, those Ameraucana's are wild. I got 4 and will not be getting any more. They will lay a range of blue to green eggs. I've learned they like to pick a lot at each other. Plus they are flighty. I just purchased 4 more chicks. Hope to share them soon. You are going to enjoy them.
FYI... I stared out with the Dumar organic feed. I've learned after changing their feed, they lay every day now. Were as before it was sparatic. Just saying....lol Thanks for sharing.
Yes lawd and she looks me in my eyes before she starts her shenanigans lol. Totally understand the not getting anymore as well 🤣. O nice. It’s always nice to have baby chicks around.
Ok thank you! What feed did you change to? I’m planning to feed them HenUp when they are older. You’re welcome!
Hi there Ms. Asia, this is Lady Marisha from MarishaVilla. I would like to give you a recipe for Manure Tea. This is MOST nutritious for your plants. Here goes:
1 large container such as a 13 gallon trash can with a top.
Manure- chicken or ESPECIALLY rabbit.
COTTON pillow case.
Water-About 10 gallons.
Use a 1:2 ratio
So, 1 part manure and 2 parts water.
Place manure in the pillow case, tie it, and place in the container with the water for about 2 days. Stir it about twice daily. Stinky, stinky! Ugh!
After 2 days remove the pillow case. Let the liquid drop into the container before removing.
Place the case and it's contents in your compost bin.
Final results: Tke 1 cup of the liquid (manure tea) in 1 gallon of water.
Uhoo!!!
I hope you try this it is great.
I also have a Comfrey/Nettles Tea Fertilizer
Happy gardening
Hi Marisha! Thank you very much for sharing! I really appreciate it!
Nice video Asia a lot going on at the homestead 💚🌱🌱
Thank you! I told my daughter this morning. I feel like we are on a farm lol.
@@YellowDoorUrbanHomestead 🤣🤣🤣 I understand, but you seem to love it !!!!
Girl that's what I'm talking bout! I dehydrated my homegrown garlic and made garlic powder the other day, because garlic powder is one of my most used seasonings, I run through it fast and that sht ain't cheap 😂. I grew alot of garlic, but when you dehydrate it and make powder, It be stingy, my jar empty as hell 😂😂
Lol I totally understand! Between the onion powder and garlic powder I go through it too 🤣. If you grew a lot and it’s almost gone I just know that’s gonna make a dusting lol but it’s cool!
Love your channel❤ Can you show your notes system or how you keep everything organized? We are new to gardening, we have a ton of notes in a calendar agenda but it's crazy outta control. How did you organize when everything was new to you? Pls & thx❣️
Thank you! Sure! After seed starting I don’t have many notes after that but I will share what I have. I’m a pencil and paper kinda girl. I use a notebook and planner to keep things organized.
Hi, yes I would love to see how an experienced gardener keeps track of things too. Thanks for the consistent videos!! ✌️
Love your channel! Found you through Homestead Heart. Btw, also love that you were watching The Office (my fave show, and it was Dinner Party!!!).
Hi 👋🏾! Welcome to the channel! I’m very happy to have you here! Many thanks to Mrs. H! I love The Office, it’s so funny!
You and your daughter work well together and your son happen holiday to you and family. You guys got a lot done. ❤
Thank you! We are a team! I hope you had a great holiday weekend!
You do a lot..lol...interested in the hose reel as I need one!
Lol thanks Mike! It’ll be in the second part of the video which should be posted Wednesday. I love it. It’s gonna make watering so much easier for me!
❤❤❤❤💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾👩🏽🌾👩🏽🌾👩🏽🌾
I probably comment on every video, but I just love your channel. There aren't too many urban homesteaders on TH-cam so I love seeing what you're up to! I had to take my 6 week old chicks out of town this weekend on a four hour car ride and they smelled soooo bad 😅
I appreciate it very much! I agree. O my! I can only imagine lol. Glad you made it through the trip! Happy gardening!!
cut the garlic up or chop and it will dry faster
I got a free hose reel last year and still haven't installed it
It’s really nice! You should set it up Broke!
Did you say they're 6 weeks inside???
Almost…but they are outside now. Woohoo!
Yes Texas. Lol. I know you happy to move them out. My babies are in the garage. I have about 4 weeks left. Eight babies smell horrible. I have thought about quail but the thought of having to have three eggs to equal one chicken egg makes me reconsider. Is it really tedious cracking small eggs? Do you eat the quail?
So very happy! They were wild and smelly lol. I do eat the eggs. I actually prefer them over chicken eggs now. Once you get a good portion of the shell it peels right off in my experience.
Do you eat your chickens and quail, or just use them for eggs?
My chickens are for eggs and the quail are for both meat and eggs.
Mrs H sent me
Hi 👋🏾! Welcome!!
