The Aquinos exactly. Mr. Marcos was actually asking Mrs. Aquino to pursue the BNPP. But she declined for a simple reason that this will be a legacy of Marcos. Such a selfish reason without considering the welfare of the Filipino people. And yet they were glorified by the media and were even considered as "Heros".

The real problem is not actually the "fear" of nuclear technology, but the politics here in the Philippines. You see, most politicians here are against almost on everything that their political enemies do or have done for the benefit of the country. So all they do is to demonize their political enemy and his efforts to make the country's economic progress no matter what because all they want to show to the public is that they are the heroes and "savior" of the nation. These politicians together with the catholic Church, the rich and influencial personalities and their friends in the media (media is very interconnected and intertwined with political figures and influencial personalities that it's biases are at the beck and call of these personalities.). One can just make an economic comparison of the "before and after" 1986 and until today. Taiwan, Thailand, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, and now even Vietnam have gone so far ahead of us. And here we are, paying for an excellent nuclear plant that is not being used because of "malpolitica".

According to Russian book I've read about the plan of New World Order. They design Asians as their manpower workforce only. United States as police or martial of world. Japan, Taiwan, and Korea is technology. Europe are the minds like Universities, institutions, scientist, ideas. Middle East are energy sources. While Russia is fresh water sources. I just forgot the title of the book. It looks scary and you will realize that they almost succeed. Philippines as Asian are design by them to be poor and dirty. So they will think their only purpose is to be a slave or workforce around the world. Like domestic helpers. And Marcos is an obstacle to that goal during that time.

Again, a priest still needs to be attached and involved in social issues such as the implementation of the power plant.

When will rich Filipinos realize that life is more than just money.
When will we grow up and realize that helping our country grow is more important than your personal interest?
When you're in your deathbed, what would you answer if suddenly the question popped up in your mind "Have I done my best? What have I done with all my riches now that I'm dying?"
Greed and Vengeance made us weak.

if you really want nuclear power we need at least 10 nuclear power plant to produce at least half of the energy required by luzon (6000 mega watts)
plus where will you place nuclear waste? every 6 months a single nuclear power plant will produce about 5000 gallons of nuclear waste, about 5 trucks full of water, so 10 nuclear power plants will produce 50 trucks of nuclear waste.

The issue wz this particular place was how it came to be and at what cost. Was there a bidding wc the Philippine laws require. General Electric offered 2 of the same plant at $650M while Westinghouse price went upto $2.2B for the actual project built in haste close to a fault line. Other than these, why not. As part of the youth and also as a pro-nuclear, I see the potential of what Nuclear energy can provide to the Philippines' energy mix. Though it seems that most Filipino people only see the hazards that it "may" provide to the environment. If only there is a way we can change the mindset of Filipinos, then we can earn their trust to use Nuclear as a source of energy. The Philippines is lagging behind among countries that are more successful with Nuclear as part of their energy mix.

We had to pay for the BNPP and was never used at all because the Aquinos made a negative propaganda against its use. Marcos had the vision to reduce the power cost for the Filipinos but what happened is the government has empowered the oligarchs dictate the cost of power. We are all paying dearly from this. Even if we have reduce the production of power the "area franchisees" will NOT wish to reduce the prices. They are making a big killing of overpricing their cost. Its only recently that many people are opening their eyes in the visions of the Marcos.

I was 10 when I understand the vision of Marcos but people only look to the past. We never been able to provide ourselves a better improvement and advancement. When I talk about Marcos's legacy to my friends, it only reminds them the martial law.

@@kylereinzbada846 I had the same thoughts on the Marcoses. But sometime 2008 i had the first shock when a dpwh engineer told me that they were using the plans prepared during the marcos time th skyway project. They just need to modify it based on present road situation. It had all the plans and studies. Then again due to my different dealings on power that i realised why our power rates are so high and how the oligarchs manipulated the powet and distributor law. Formerly the power producer can not be controlled by the power disttibutor in order for a check and balance. But somehow all of them.... aboitiz, lopez etc are both producer and distributor. moreso they control most of the lucrative areas.
Do you know that the BNPP is fully paid for and we the people never benefitted from it because we were all fed with negative information on the said plant. Thats why sometime Ramos time we had massive brownouts till to date.

@@bobbydejesus6822 President Marcos commissioned Palafox to prepare the urban planning of Metro Manila, with the flood spillways (Marikina), LRT and skyways. Though it never reached fruition due to oligarchs campaigning the ousting of the president to further their business interests and maximize profit.

@@user-nr3bo6jy5li totally agree with you. We were all misled to a lot of things about the Marcoses. My first eye opener was sometime 2008 when the Skyway was being extended to Filinvest. The DPWH Engineer revealed to me that Marcos had already made all the road plans of Metro Manila and what they were just doing is just adjusting it to the current situations. He did also reveal all other infra projects which are now only being inplemented. I would just imagine if he did continue his presidency things may have turned out differently.
Though i can not discount the fact that there were persecutions done to many persons.
Now the oligarchs are controlling basically everything we do because they manipulated MANY government policies. i could give you a long list of dubious laws and guidelines which favors the few.....

I watched a documentary in GMA that said there had been attempts to re open the Nuclear Power Plant in Bataan but upon study, it was found that it was built on top of active fault line. Apparently, engineers commissioned did not recommend to re open it on the same location.
