    Hi guys!
    I’m the drummer.
I’m so happy that you guys liked it and I’m loving your reactions Rick :)
Yes, I was using the metronome.
I don’t use any chart sheets .. I memorise everything before hitting the stage and few improvisations to add my own flavour.
Hope you guys are well .. Take care

The drummer is Ahad Nayani. He was part of the Coke Studio houseband for quite a few seasons when Strings produced it. This is Coke Studio Pakistan, which is much more successful than the Indian model. General way to identify is that CS Pakistan videos will mainly appear on the "Coke Studio" channel or "Popbox" while CS India is associated with MTV and is on the "Coke Studio India" channel.

    1. The drummer's name is Aahad Nayaani. He is amazing and by far my #1 favorite drummer in Pakistan.
    2. There is a metronome going on. However, there is a lot of improvisation going on in live songs -- especially in some Qawwali songs. In some CokeStudio songs (all live, btw) you can literally see people starting on a different route and then abandoning it almost instantly because someone else kicked in :)
    3. Coke Studio doesn't have a live audience :) It's just a live recording.
    4. There are BTS (behind the scene) videos of almost all these Coke Studio videos. Even this song has one. You can check out the rehearsals and preparation there in very candid footage.
    5. Coke Studio is usually Coke Studio Pakistan. Coke Studio India is, well, Coke Studio India. This is just Coke Studio, so Coke Studio Pakistan.
Hope it helps answer some of your questions :)

Kadak Mai ! You say kadak when you have that kind of hitting the notes crisp n clear. Chaa gayi!!
She is clear overshadowing everything else in this song. Loved this unusual composition where the woman's tonality is sharper than man's. Atif supported well towards the end he sounded like himself. I find that a little monotonous. Overall fantastic. New earworm for sure.

Rajasthani music has been a big influence on Pakistani classical singers like Ustad Mehdi Hassan, Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali khan, etc. Rajasthani music is really really rich.

This is Pakistan Coke Studio which is better than the Indian Coke Studio in my opinion. Season 1-6 were arranged by Rohail Hyatt and he is a music genius. Season 7-10 were arranged by the group Strings and had a lot of good songs. Season 11 was produced by a couple of dudes. Rohail is back from season 12. I am a huge fan and have heard all of the songs from the entire season range. This is one song I would not have picked. There are so many good ones throughout the years.

The drummer is Aahad Nayani. He is phenomenal and has a rock solid time. This is Coke Studio Pakistan.
TIP: You can tell whether the video is from Coke Studio India or Pakistan by looking at the house band, especially the drummer. The Indian counterpart is usually Darshan Doshi, another awesome drummer. :)

The one on the piano? That's Jaffer Zaidi though from the band Kaavish. Rohail Hayatt started CS but wasn't involved in these seasons (6-11). He produced 1-5 and then came back to produce 12 and 13 (which was just a special edition named 2020 because of Covid).

Rohail Hayaat?? Are you joking. Rohail is not in this video. The long haired guy on piano is Jaffar who is also a good vocalist and son of Pakistan's legendary singer Nayyara Noor
