Love the "red dawn" content! Gets us cold war teens in the groove!! (I make my own slings too, use the slide adjust on the old alice pack straps, works great for quick adjusts.
@@Ironsight_Army use 1" wide nylon strap. Get the heavier duty stuff. @@jwgbmp40 yeah! I have a vickers sling with the pad & dont like it. I wish I had ordered the one with out. Mabey i will just salvage the hardware off that sling too!
I dig it. I like the red dot with flip to side magnifier. Just me. I run a Premium PSA upper (16in barrel mid length gas system, 14.5" mlock rail) with Aero lower. Basic setup. Sling, Surefire m600, 403R red dot paired with Holosun 3x magnifier. UTG Slim fixed front post, and polymer MBUS rear sight.
My red dawn build is a 20-inch psa rifle with magpul fixed stock and bipod, streamlight protac, vortex 1-8, cheap sling, magpul offset flip up sights, hogue grip, mft short foregrip and custom krylon camo.
A scope like that with a etched reticle, in addition to illumination is a good touch. As it can work without batteries and in the case of an EMP or solar storm carrington event, it doesn't become useless like a red dot would. Also I would recomend a solid quick detach mount for the scope. YOur iron sites are useless until you remove the scope... Or potentially consider canted iron sites. I set my rifle up to save weight, spent way too much money on precision reflex carbon fiber handguards and a Hera arms HRS light butt stock. It is a nice stock btw if you into fixed stocks.
I went 16" geissele and decided to top it off with TA11H-G Acog. EMP could wipe out the electronics, although you have a etched reticle so......... I love the premise of the video. With all going on in the 🌎 today.
I have a built gun by a buddy at an ffl. Aero upper, 12 inch radical handguard, 13.7 Ba barrel with a sons nox/ sons gas block and tube. Right now on top I have a Romeo 7 or my lpvo which I don’t love alot. Radian charging handle and aero standard lower with a magpul srs stock
Right now I have a Del-Ton 556 with a 16in barrel, I am thinking about getting the Ruger MPR 556 with a 18in barrel, and put on the 3x9 scope that I have.
I think your rifle is just fine. mine is very similar in the way it's setup. I just happen to have a primary arms cyclops on mine. otherwise very similar. I think olight is on to something good. I personally don't have a olight anymore because mine was having issues with flickering and sometimes it didn't turn on. but I realize others are working fine. so currently I have a surefire, so time will tell how it's going to work for me. great content.
Hey Brother, Great video, one thing. never display your tools in a hot position, DHS snoops watch these vids now if you have kids they have a reason to snoop. Awesome paint job!
Dude, our rifles are almost twins. On my IWI AR, I have a Strike Eagle 1-6, MBUS backups (mine are offset). BCM and B5 furniture, BCM short vert grip. a Streamlight ProTac and a Ferro Concepts Slingster. I put the Larue 2 stage trigger in mine and very much recommend it. Cheaper than the Geissle and I don’t see how the Geissle could be any better.
Got a bear creek 10.5 300 blackout with eotech sight with magnifier and mbus flip up irons. And a Colt LE6920 with the same setup. Want a can for the blackout. The blackout isn’t nice on the Wallet
I thought you were talking about the real red dawn movie, I'm sticking with the AK platform for that . Red dawn the military wasn't anywhere to be seen to help you feed that rifle. Cool gun though.
awesome job hey flip the stubby around you'll be shocked at how much more ya like it as far as your light? lol I have 10 of the mini Odin's have the same prob with the pads, I'm sticking a lens cap over the bright end until I find an alt solution
Bro I have 4 Olights on weapons and 1 being the mini oden. I have not had any problems with them. I also have 2 edc olights. Most people talking down on olight are gear snobs.
Not true. People who dis olight came to realize that they will burn you. The recharger part on the tail cap, if that touches metal it turns the light on and it gets real hot. I guess weapon lights may not have that problem because they don't see your pocket.

I wanna run an lpvo on mine(I have a riton x3) but honestly can’t seem to wanna run it, it’s heavy and I love the idea of them but don’t just love them
OMG, PSA and Olight? The redditards will lose their minds. Nice rifle tho, it's pretty much exactly how I have mine set up although under my thunder chicken 1-6 I run a canted 407c for work up close.

Good set up!
Del-ton lower aero precision upper with a swamp fox tomahawk 1-6 , Magpul SL stock TAC battle gnome muzzle brake compensator
Love the paint job!
Very similar setup. DDM4V7 with the vickers sling, protac, strike eagle 1-6x, mbus, and an offset Romeo 1.
For my taste the stock needs to have the same camo pattern

If it works for you that's all that counts. I like your set up, but mine is less high speed like we used in Nam. Prep On T-man

Nice set-up brother.
Love the setup. since you recommended back up sights how do you remove the scope if it goes down? Wouldn't qd mount work better?
Yes it would! But in my case they are expensive so what I do is keep the correct size Allen key in the grip

I never understand the concept of flip up sights but not running a QD scope mount?

Why is it questionable...besides the stock?
