The reason Zelda gets the Bunny Hood is because its a reference to the Ocarina Of Time manga, where she is seen wearing it while playing with Link as children.

When the f*ck did that happen? In OoT you only interact with Zelda once when you’re young link you only interact with Zelda once
Caroline Woud In the manga, sneeking into the castle is proceeded by link getting into trouble in the market because the kokuri dont use money. A girl helps him, and says she can get him into the castle if he plays with her. They then do a bunch of the hyrule town activities, (including Zelda getting the bunny hood) before someone attacks them and impa takes Zelda away. Next day, link enters the castle, learns the girl was Zelda, goes off on his quest.
@@carolinewoud1599 Yeah, theres a manga for almost all of the games. This same scene also gives some backstory for Volgavia, with the two of them buying a baby dragon that had been kept in a small cage to let it go, only to find Link later faced with having to kill his brief friend.
Disappointed there isn't a Girahim-colored Fi or a Fi-colored Girahim.

24:27 seems like you might have missed one interpretation - much like the skull kid, cia yearns for companionship (skull kid wants friends, cia wants link), was manipulated by a darker power (skull kid - the mask, cia - ganondorf) and ends up more sympathetic in the end.

Yeah, I think Definitive edition should have atleast added materials, costumes and pixel weapon versions for the characters that were still missing them

The Gold and Silver colored Fi at 19:40 could also be referencing the Gilded Sword from Majora's Mask. She IS a sword, after all.
I was kinda sad Toon Link doesn’t have a Linebeck alt, but I think it makes sense for the king to have it since both him and Linebeck fill the role of Toon Link’s ocean companion

fuit123 a few years ago there was a think that was a dress that some people saw it as gold and white and other people saw it as blue and black but I actually saw it as white and black
I think the reason for Volga wearing the Giants Mask is a reference to Volvagia because he is its Incarnation and how he went from a giant dragon to become a human sized Demi-Dragon
My only surprise here is that Link didn't get a Lorule costume...
I mean, he's the simplest choice as he just needs Ravio's color scheme with the black hair and black and/or blue scarf, (a scarf that only this Link has).
P.S. I think it's just Lazy Ravio doesn't come with or has an unlockable "Hoodless (or Hatless)" costume...

Alpha Cult they had no problem with Twili Midna, who could be considered spoilers.
Anyway, I actually believe that the purple link costume is a double reference: both at Purple Link from Four Swords, and Ravio. Still, would have loved a more "proper" Ravio costume for Link, with the right hair color and all.

Actually the masks do mean something on them, like Fi having the stone mask is a reference to her having no personality, and Cia having Majora's Mask is a reference to both her being manipulated by someone and her power hunger.

Probably overthinking it but the stone mask makes you invisible, unnoticed. Fi is the Master sword so has technically been in every game with the master sword without the characters knowing it.

I think Zelda’s pale blue and white costume is a reference to Spirit Zelda from Spirit Tracks, rather than the Phantoms from the same game.
I like to think of Fi’s costumes as references to various fairies. Like the three spirits from the DS games, her pail blue and white skin is Navi, her white and gold skin is Tatl, and her purple black and red skin is Tael
Link's yellow costume is more likely a reference to when Link uses the Great Fairy Tears in Twilight Princess than a reference to Pipit.

I already made a comment about Zelda wearing the bunny mask. But it's a reference of the Legend of zelda Ocarina of time manga. You could see her young version wearing it when she wanted to spend time with link as a normal girl. (also link didn't knew it was her until they met again.)

I think Sheik's Hyrule Fields Master Mode costume is ACTUALLY a reference to Vaati from Four Swords/Minish Cap (since Link got a purple alt to round out his Four Swords cast alongside red and blue)
The yellow outfit for Link in the Twilight Princess map is most likely when Link drinks fairy tears and his tunic turns yellow, giving the attack boost rather than Pippit from Skyward sword

GamesBrained I think that Skull Kid's from the Wind Waker Map is a refrence to the moon from Majora's Mask. The whites and purples match it way better than Tattl and Tael.
GamesBrained I'm 99.9% sure that Skull Kid's Great Sea costume is also a reference to the Moon from Majora's Mask 3D to match his Lunar Ocarina. If it really *were* based off of Tatl and Tael's colours, it would be YELLOW and purple.

Cia, just like the Skull Kid, were both used by powers greater than they could control. In Cia's case, she was manipulated by Ganondorf, in Skull Kid's case, he was manipulated by Majora's Mask. Both were discarded when they weren't of any use to their hosts anymore. That's the reason Cia has the Majora's Mask costume.

I'd like to personally believe linkle's outfit is supposed to resemble the thief girl from link between worlds.
Here are a few costumes they should have added.

And finally.
It would have been cool to be able to have a custom fighter. Custom appearance and weapon type, that we could send into battle. It would have been cool sending in custom characters to fight alongside link.

Midna wears the Ordon Shield on her face in that cutscene because that's typically how the Twili wear shields - like the different variants of beasts that guard the Portals in TP, they all have shield-like items on their faces. Zant's personal bodyguards, as seen in the cutscene depicting his march on Hyrule Castle, wear shinier upgraded versions, kinda like how the Mirror Shield upgrade works in many Zelda games.
I honestly thought the pale Zelda referencing a phantom was just toon Zelda in spirit form?

Considering how many of these costumes are references to other hyrule warriors characters, I'm surprised no one here has noticed that Impa's costume is not a ref to herself, but to *Volga,* as Lana=Cia & Sheik=Wizzro.
This explains the bright silvers on her armor. And to those who think I'm wrong because of the matching neon green feathers, the color is matching the eyes on Volga's helmet, not the green on Oracle Impa.
Edit: I forgot to mention this, but the quest where you unlock that outfit (In the definitive version, at least) the commander of the enemy team is Volga. Coincidence, I think *not.*
Edit 2.0: Now looking closer at the costume, I now see that her Hair bands turn to pink instead of orange... Since the pink doesn't really exist on Volga but matches the veil (or whatever it's called) on Oracle Impa. Either it was something to make us argue, is actually just Oracle Impa, or is just a neat color change that means nothing and she's still Volga.
I don't mind being wrong, but the random Oracle reference here just seems out of place when compared to Sheik's and Lana's costume choice.
Odolwa and Ganondorf are both like fallen gods, with Ganondorf being Demise and Odolwa being one of the giants- The Deku also seemed to worship Odolwa in the MM manga, while Zant probably worships Ganondorf every day after breakfast. Probably is the one who makes breakfast. Healthy dose of bananas.
To add onto that, didn’t Ganondorf also poison the deku tree, like how odolwa’s curse poisoned the swamp.
4:54 impas costume is actually a reference to nabooru from ocarina of time as if you look closely at both of them the colours match perfectly, it took me a while to figure it out I think it would have been easier if they gave her red hair too but I really like this costume overall :)

Huh. Both Super Mario Bros USA/2 and Link's Awakening take place inside a dream world. Both games have Shy Guys or Mask Mimmics. And, both games have Wart/Mammu.

Fi was actually based off of the Wind Waker's Great Fairies, so that worked out pretty well. The costume is a pretty cool throwback at least.

I guess Volga uses the Giant's Mask because he is the one character that frequently shapeshifts into a giantic creature... and there's nothing dragon-y enough in the masks, so I guess that's the closest fit.

It's so unfair that they released definitive edition, one year after I bought all DLC I Wantedfor the WiiU edition....
The yellow tunic could also be a reference to whenever drinking a special yellow potion from thre chu's in twilight princess. Getting a yellow tunic and double defense for a short period.

Thanks, that's actually exactly what I was looking for for something not entirely related to this game.
Looked through all the comments and everyone equates Gold Link to him in his Chu Jelly/Fairy Tear powered up form but apparently I'm the only one who immediately thought it was based off the Heroes Shade considering he wears Gold armor. It makes much more sense than rando temporary power up form.
If it is the Hero's Shade it would be better if the scarf was a dark green to match the foliage on him and give him a red and black eye
I've cleared every adventure mode map, with costume and weapon completion to boot. Getting a preview of costumes and weapons to come on your channel, as well as tips with certain troublesome characters (fuck Tingle) gave me the motivation and help that I needed to excel and achieve weapon completion. Thanks for everything, GamesBrained. If there's ever a Xenoblade Warriors or other Nintendo Warriors game, I'll look forward to your tips and showcases to fuel my hype once again!

Volga also [kinda] looks like the red Twinmold from Majora's Mask, so wearing the Giant's Mask is fitting, as during the Twinmold fight is the only place to use the Giant's Mask.
At 28:34 with the skull kid costume it is referencing Sarah or sarai.(I forget the actual spelling I apologize.) From ocarina of time.
Saria is her name, but i don't think that's what it is. Saria never had any trace of yellow on her, it was all different shades of green

I think that is more likely a reference to the “master sword” than to “tetra” the white legs represent the blade and the green hair represents the handle. This also makes sense seeing how giriham has a skin based on demises sword and Fi is the spirit inside the master sword...
Other than that I’d agree with the rest
Face Plantz That wouldn't make much sense though considering that her base colors are a much clearer reference to the Master Sword. Her legs are the hilt with the two green strands of fabric, her wings are the wings on the hilt, her gen perfectly mirrors the gem on the master sword, and her pointed head is the blade.
Ghirahim wearing that dancing mask... *it looks so perfect*
