I love curry. I have my own curry bush in my back yard. I use the fresh leaves in my sauce. Thanks for this Gary. I’m just east of Naples, Florida prepping for Hurricane Milton but you took me to the heart of London and brought back memories of many meals at Indian restaurants in Oxford, Glastonbury, Canterbury, and York. You Brits are very lucky to have that culture bringing you such wonderful food to enjoy in your native country. Nothing really like it.
Best of luck to you regarding the hurricane. I am in central NC and with Helene we had a tornado to the East (locally just a couple of warnings) and total devastation in the West.

Appears decent food at a decent price thus attracting increased customers to balance out the lower price. Too many places overpriced and selling terrible food...
Back to the future! That was going back with those prices and quality of food and portions. No wonder it’s so popular with correct pricing and quality food. When you commented on the spicy dish that had the explosion and then calmed down reminded me of when I was a child buying stardust in a packet from the sweet shop. You popped it in your mouth and it crackled away with a little sour flavour. First time of trying you was amazed and I just kept on buying the stuff and going back to it. Those desserts looked fantastic too. Thank you Gary great review and taking me back a bit in time 👍
Brilliant review as always, hilarious when you thought they were meatballs at a vegetarian restaurant 🤣 what better way to end a spicy meal than with those desserts ? It all looked fabulous 👌 you do make me laugh when you get spicy food.😂
That looks like just the place for me: vegetarian/vegan heaven!! I also believe, that there are no onions or garlic in their curries, and it’s amazing how they make the food taste so good! It’s really quite inspiring ❤️👍🏻Thank you for the wonderful video, Gary 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Hi Gary, great review. You got to try and review Asher’s - Africana, which is an authentic Indian restaurant in Wembley (Ealing Road). A bit if history: There’s a large Indian (Gujaraati) community who migrated to Kenya and Uganda for trading purposes during the colonial era. During 1950/60, the last majority of them migrated to the U.K. due to communal conflict. This restaurant is run by one of them and hence don’t get confused with the name. It’s as authentic as you can get and is one of its kind. You won’t be disappointed.
I've actually got to go back & listen to this with the sound up...had to watch it with the subs up as the other half is watching TV!!! 📺Just by reading the words though I could see how impressed you were with the Indian veggie feast. Perfect. I was walking home from the kebab shop, hoping that you would've uploaded a review and there it was!! I know of this place but never been, so it's good to see what's on offer, I was up west yesterday as well, was on Berwick Street so just around the corner. Another intuitive review Gary, the thing that makes it is that you are fair and honest, no matter the price or name of the restaurant. Your subscriber numbers are growing exponentially too, you are fast turning into the one stop shop for reviews. The great thing is, you are doing the work for us, It offers a real peace of mind to know you can turn up to a restaurant knowing what you are going to get. Love it, and am now an avid watcher. You will be a million subscriber channel in no time.
That is such a kind comment to make and really appreciated thank you, Simon
Great video Gary - you can tell you enjoyed it!
I loved this one!
Hi Gary! It's 4.30am here (wretched insomnia) & I got the Gary Eats notification, so that was an immediate 20min of viewing enjoyment. ☺️ Wow, that is an amazing price for London. I've had some fantastic vegetarian Indian meals over the years & one of the restaurants was also called Govinda, here in Sydney. Glad you enjoyed the dishes so much, it all looked great on camera too. You are getting braver with the chilli! You'll be nipping at Greeno's heels soon for handling the spicy food. Lovely to watch you enjoy a great lunch, that is also at such a reasonable price. Always sending my very best to you & your son. Til' next time. 🥰💙
I'm so sorry to hear about your insomnia Erin, it can be a pain. I'm really glad you enjoyed the video, thank you. I'm getting braver but sadly still a big wimp! Take care xx
@@GaryEatsOh, thanks Gary I'd had quite restful nights the last two weeks & then it's all ruined tonight! 😅 If I'm going to be awake in the wee hours, then what's better than enjoying one of your reviews. My goodness no, never a wimp Gary! You're a gentleman. Take care. 💙
Hi Gary. How about letting us know what the food star rating is on the some of these places you go to. What do you think? ⭐️
Gary beats Greeno all day long in my book.
@@ecnal1961Gary's channel is fantastic & in my humble opinion, he is the best food reviewer on TH-cam. I don't catch Greeno's vlogs all that often, but in fairness to him, I've found the reviews I have watched to be good & definitely improving in recent months. He did a review recently of James Martin's "The Kitchen" & I thought it was very nicely done.
Hi Gary, so good to see you once again with your down to earth human decency. Another wonderfully appreciated review to add to the catalogue. I am fast reaching the conclusion that instead of wasting time searching online reviews about an establishment, all I need to do is find your review. Job done plus I know it'll be a genuine honest opinion. Thank you for sharing.
That is very kind to say thank you
A superb video, Gary! Douze points!!!!! You have an instinct for good food, even when you're not overly familiar with it. Touché.
Thank you Deepak! You wouldn't be the very one that I met in the Regency?
@GaryEats Sadly not! However, I do keep an eye out for you, as we seem to frequent many of the same places.... plus I'm also a Red!
Brilliant review Gary .I can't believe how cheap that was in central London .
Thank you very much Kevin and yes very well valued
As always ……great piece to Camera ! …..really enjoyed the review and hearing about Govindas !
You and me both! Thank you
Great variety of dishes, exceptional value.
Cannot ask for much more Michael
Gary, I want to visit every good one you get to! Thanks for the honest reviews young man! Currently in New Zealand and showing my family your Chanel to spread the word! 😊
That is so kind and really appreciated thank you so very much 🇳🇿
What an amazing place. The food looked so good, and the staff obviously care deeply about the food they prepare and about their customers. I'm so pleased that your first specifically vegan and vegetarian establishment was a 10/10! Every high street should have a Govinda's! I laughed out loud at your "you're very naughty" comment to the banoffee pie!
I am a muppet aren't I lol
@@GaryEats Everyone needs to embrace the muppetness in themselves!
Fantastic stuff Gary. The whole meal looked delicious. My mouth was watering. Glad you found another good one.Take care.💜
Thank you very much and take care
Epic video and review there Gary ....had a rainy day at work ..and coming home to watch u warmed up my day ❤️❤️
Glad you enjoyed it!!
My guess is that you ain’t voting MAGA 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Stay safe.
Best of luck to you regarding the hurricane. I am in central NC and with Helene we had a tornado to the East (locally just a couple of warnings) and total devastation in the West.

Not sure what politics has to do with a hurricane. Or was it my curry plant? I love this channel because Gary is just an honest human being sharing his real experiences with food. Let’s please keep it that way in the comments, out of respect for Gary and his followers. It’s one of the few spaces on TH-cam where we can experience simple human joys.
There’s a Govinda’s in Swansea. It’s run by Hare Krishna monks. Beautiful food. Glad you enjoyed Gary 😋
Thank you very much and I didn't know they had so many operating across the UK
Wow ,I think they r Iskcon members
I was just going to say I'm sure we have a Govindas in Swansea on St Helens Road I think , I've never been there but a work colleague a few years back is Vegan and he kept telling me to go. Love Gary Eats brilliant, honest, and no bull #*!t. Definitely agree with his reviews there are so many average and below average restaurants in Swansea and Cardiff charging horrific prices for food which is no where near the mark 💥💥💥 smashed it again didn't he.
It closed down about 5 years ago in Swansea.
I love Indian Thali. Used to be a very great place in Seattle that changes the Thali menu every month (season vegetables, farm to table, etc.). Keep grinding Gary! 👍
Thank you very much, Erik
New subscriber mate , just see your video on Ramseys place, extremely accurate and honest review, I said if I had a restaurant I'd want someone like you to review it!!! I don't know your background however I know you were spot on!!! You don't go over the top and give credit where it's due, all the best love from London and Dublin X
Thank you so very much for your wonderful comments and thank you very much for subscribing Simon x🇮🇪🇮🇪
@@GaryEats A response as well ,I knew my opinion was right lol! Thank you Gary great channel!!!!!
👍👍
I love Govindas, the one in Dublin is so good too! Good piclk. You should give Amrutha Lounge a go and 40 Maltby Street; both London-based. Lots of love Garry, really enjoy your commentary and calming vibe, not OTT like other 'reviewers' keep doing your thing!
There's one in Dublin as well that's good
They all have amazing reviews
No reviews on youtube tho so make your mark! @GaryEats
Amazing flavour combinations there Gary! Everything looked superb and very well priced.
Great review as always:)
Thank you very much Phil
I am amazed. Certainly a Ten. All my favourite in one sitting. Thanks again.
Superb Kenneth
Appears decent food at a decent price thus attracting increased customers to balance out the lower price. Too many places overpriced and selling terrible food...
I agree with you completely 🏴🏴
This makes me feel like I’m eating at a new restaurant with a good friend. Love your videos!
Thank you, much appreciated
Fantastic review Gary thank you , keep up the magical content
Topman 👏
Means more than you can believe, thank you!
Great video. We've got some great authentic veggie Indians in Cardiff as well. Fantastic food. Great dosas as well.
So nice of you Peter
Amazing watching your channel grow so quick. Look out for your videos weekly. Well done mate.
Thank you very much Adam - means a lot
Great review! Been there a few times and great veggie feast. Did you realise the cakes were eggless?
I really appreciate that, thank you and yes of course
Top video Gary! That is great value!
Thank you Matty
Back to the future!
That was going back with those prices and quality of food and portions.
No wonder it’s so popular with correct pricing and quality food.
When you commented on the spicy dish that had the explosion and then calmed down reminded me of when I was a child buying stardust in a packet from the sweet shop. You popped it in your mouth and it crackled away with a little sour flavour. First time of trying you was amazed and I just kept on buying the stuff and going back to it.
Those desserts looked fantastic too.
Thank you Gary great review and taking me back a bit in time 👍
Really nice change Julian and fantastic, I remember it well
Looked so nice Gary fair play fantastic review really grateful you give an insight into these restaurants.
Many thanks thank you
Brilliant review as always, hilarious when you thought they were meatballs at a vegetarian restaurant 🤣 what better way to end a spicy meal than with those desserts ? It all looked fabulous 👌 you do make me laugh when you get spicy food.😂
Thank you very much Tracy
That looks like just the place for me: vegetarian/vegan heaven!! I also believe, that there are no onions or garlic in their curries, and it’s amazing how they make the food taste so good! It’s really quite inspiring ❤️👍🏻Thank you for the wonderful video, Gary 🙏🏻🙏🏻
That is a very good point Liz they do not include onions or garlic, and thank you very much
Another great video, Gary and cameraman. This looks like a fabulous place!
Thank you very much
Brilliant review Gary and cameraman !!! Food looks packed with flavor and spice !!! Looked like a well deserved 10 🎉
Thanks James, really kind
I am a Dyed-In-The-Wool Meatatarian but a decent Vegetarian / Vegan Indian Restaurant is a thing of untold riches and happiness.
I couldnt' agree with you more!
This was a fantastic review. I love watching these and I'm looking forward to the next one.
Thank you, another review coming soon!
Food looks amazing. Thanks for another great review Gary! I love how you get so many dishes, a bit like tappas.
Glad you enjoyed it and yes of course, have to showcase more than one thing
Hi Gary, great review.
You got to try and review Asher’s - Africana, which is an authentic Indian restaurant in Wembley (Ealing Road).
A bit if history: There’s a large Indian (Gujaraati) community who migrated to Kenya and Uganda for trading purposes during the colonial era. During 1950/60, the last majority of them migrated to the U.K. due to communal conflict. This restaurant is run by one of them and hence don’t get confused with the name. It’s as authentic as you can get and is one of its kind. You won’t be disappointed.
Thank you very much for the recommendation. I will take a look.
Thanks as always, Gary. Keep them coming - looking forward to the next one
Thank you very much
That banoffe pie looks so good
Thanks for another great review
Absolutely delicious Elizabeth. Thank you very much
I've actually got to go back & listen to this with the sound up...had to watch it with the subs up as the other half is watching TV!!! 📺Just by reading the words though I could see how impressed you were with the Indian veggie feast. I love vegetarian & vegan food, but still yet to try an Indian! One thing you will NEVER hear me saying Gary is ''You're Naughty'' to a Banoffee Pie!! Ha! 🥧😊RIght, time to watch this again now so I can actually hear your enthusiasm loud & clear!🔉 x J x
Awesome, thank you Judy! Can't disturb during TV time with me blabbing about food
@@GaryEats It's quite funny reading sub titles actually...they mis print the words so it's even more of a laugh with their interpretations of what you say! You blab away to your heart's content Gary, it's very entertaining whether the sound is up or down! x J x😊
Hi mate, it's me again😁. I just love sitting here in OZ watching you eat Indian food🤣. Good for you! As someone who 50 years ago met my wife and told her I would never eat Indian food, only then to realise the error of my ways and to find my embracing her superb cooking and blessing her every day for food embracing wonderful flavours with subtle heat that only has you wanting more. That looked great and I can't wait for when you come over and we can cook for you. Love and blessings as always❤
That is an absolutely wonderful comment thank you very much ❤️❤️
Gary I am 52 now and when we were kids we used to go to London and watch the Harry Krishna people playing their drums in Oxford Street. The food there has always been amazing seeing this video I’m gonna jump on a train and go there …All the best mate
Ah great memories and thank you
Love your reviews man!
Great work
Thank you very much
Good evening Gary. Great to see you again. Uplifting and inspiring as ever. You keep me smiling through tough old times. But keeping positive! Cheers and once again thanks Gary. Stephen.
Thank you Stephen, how are you?
@GaryEats I'm doing OK thank you. Immunotherapy on Wednesday morning. Every three weeks now. Next scan in November! 🤞🤞👍
unbelievable VFM Gary. the looks on your face when the chillis caught you out was priceless 🙂
I'm always getting caught out by the buggers lol
your channel have grown and grown , i always look forward to a new review.. keep up the fantastic work
Thank you very much
Those curries looked spot on Gary. Love the videos mate, if you’re ever in the Watford area you’ve gotta try the tasty bean cafe, incredible breakfast and lunch menu!!
I really appreciate that, thank you and I will do my best
Hi Gary, as a Ozzie I am a curry lover and I do need an Indian/Sri Lanken fix every couple of weeks in case I get withdrawal symptoms. My curry test is to place a spoon into the bowl and if it comes out intact it's not hot enough. LOL. Your review was just fantastic and honest - keep up the great vlogs.
That was so funny, thank you very much, Greg
Road to 200k 👍 I work just round the corner from that restaurant, never been but now.... "I'll give it a go" 👍
Thank you very much!!
Gotta say I'm not a vegetarian and would usually walk straight past a place like this, but that food looks incredible - and the food in the displays too. We definitely need TH-cam to add a smell-o-vision when it comes to food that looks that good.
It was really good, I do highly recommend even if you're not a veggie
Great video once again, keep it up with the videos showing all different prices as not many people eat at all the expensive places, cheers.
Thank you very much Henry. Of course, I do try and mix it up
Onwards 🔛 let go.good vid gary
We should have a sweepstakes on when Gary gets to 200K subs - I reckon by end of year for sure. Another great review. Tasty food at a very low price. I love the "let's give it a go" and the crossing the street set-up.
Gary you truly are an outstanding presenter. You shine postive and happiness, im sure im not alone when I say you bring huge joy to many many thousands here on this channel. Well done too for mixing it up and going vegetarian. I love veggie food. 200k subs by Christmas for you and the cameraman is totally deserved and earned.
That is a wonderful comment thank you so very much, Joseph
Great value for central London Gary and tasty Indian cuisine to boot! 😊
I agree, Roger
Fantastic dishes , super value indeed.
I love my meat dishes but when it comes to curry houses the chefs definitely know how to play with the many spices , hence why I'd happily try those vegetarian dishes.
What a super review. Thank you for sharing . Very enjoyable indeed. I hope you have a peaceful evening sweet x 😊
I'd have to keep a peperami in my pocket though for the way home! 😅
What a very lovely comment again Maria, thank you so much x
@@annother3350 lol nooo I don't like those things but a nice chicken thigh would be perfect after that delicious meal x 😊

Well Gary.... This looks Amazing.... Anne-Marie is applauding you because you did Vegetarian... Seriously though ... You are now are first TV Of the evening .... As Always... You gave it a go our friend !!! Superb Insight as Always !!!

What are those emojis 🤣🤣🤣
The colours of the food make me so hungry 😅 I'm watching this just before going to bed and I have to fight off the urge to go make something in the kitchen. Thanks for the video Gary; good to see you enjoying some delicious food.
That is very kind to see. I hope you had a good night sleep.
Another great review as always Gary 😊incidentally Mrs P was waxing lyrical about you as always and said “ why don’t you ask Gary too rate my Food , invite him round for dinner I’m sure he would love my hot pot “ ! , as I was walking away I mumbled I wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy , “ what did you say ? She Bellowed like a fog horn , “ I said I would put that on his wish list my sweetness, why is it women have the hearing of a Peruvian Vampire Bat at thirty paces when one mumbles , but are tone deaf when one is complaining at their lack of understanding when it comes to what a husband really wants , namely peace and quiet.
I would absolutely love to do that for a video one day Petrus lol, please do let me know! You never fail to make me smile
Used to go to Govinda’s back in the 90’s.
Glad it’s still going, it’s a fabulous place!!
It's a lovely place that's for sure
Perfect. I was walking home from the kebab shop, hoping that you would've uploaded a review and there it was!!
I know of this place but never been, so it's good to see what's on offer, I was up west yesterday as well, was on Berwick Street so just around the corner. If I knew that they had banoffee pie as good as that, I'd have gone there for that alone. Definitely, will put Govida's onto my "Give it a go" list now. Cheers again Gary!!
Here I am, what did you get from the kebab shop?
@@GaryEats A chicken shish. It was the one on the way back home from my parents, not the best but good enough!
Another excellent video Gary! The recommendations you get are top notch.
Thank you very much, Tim
Love how there’s these little gems in a busy place like London. That looks amazing
This was fantastic
When a Gary video drops you know its going to be a good day.
Thanks Gary
Wow, thanks.. was today a good day?
Cheers Gary today was all good. Thanks for asking.
Great review as ever 👏
You're way better than Table and Chair Man over on Rate My Takeaway. You at least give honest reviews and are unafraid to tell the truth about food even when it's bad. Keep that up; it's what makes your channel better than Table and Chair Man.
Thank you Luke. I do really like Danny
Hi Gary, we have a Govinda in Sydney. Very good vegetarian Indian restaurant, it is. So many different versions of dhal. I love them all. Thanks for the video, and have a great week !
That is great to hear and you have a wonderful week as well, Michael
Brilliant as usual,i been with gary from day 1..the most honest fresh non bull reviews.congrats on the subs-you deserve more
Thank you very much and thank you for still supporting the channel after such a long time
Well done Gary, thanks for visiting somewhere other than the run of the mill, boring asian restaurants. Most authentic Indian food is vegetarian, and although I'm not I would be more than happy to choose anything from that restaurant and not miss any meat.
Thank you very much
