Prices had gone up in every single country. Everyone in every single country has felt the pitch of inflation. It’s 2024. Prices have and always go up. It’s nothing new.
Good day, Harrison! Prices here in the US cities for similar take-out or dine-in food are just as high as those in your London neighborhood. The price for Boston Kelly's lobster roll + a small bag of chips combo is now hitting north of $40 (£31.6). But it's worth it, since Kelly's does give you a lot of chunky lobster meat. (Also, frozen lobster tail can be had for $8 each at our local grocery store, so I can't complain that much.) In my defense for spending or buying food that I enjoy eating, I am well aware of food insecurity even in our own neck of the woods so I do conscientiously give food donations and money to our local food banks on a regular basis.
Amazing to me that people complain about the price of a $5.01 taco. People obviously don't understand the amount of time and money spent to make that $5 taco which probably yields them a $1.67 profit. You have to produe a lot of those to make a living. Then there's the overhead; rent, labor, food cost, maintenance and repairs, taxes, credit card charges etc. Believe me these guys are not getting rich. But do you know who is ?:The companies that distribute the food, the sales rep that sells them the food, the companies that sell them the equipment, the guys that repair the equipment, the bank that charges them for every credit card transaction.... Did you ever have a plumber(not a lot of overhead) come to your house and repair your drain with $ 12 worth of PVC pipe and it costs $250? Yeah, so STFU.
LOL this in the heart/central london though. where all the tourists go, rent prices are high so they charge more. i live in london and shop in lidl lmao.

The strawberries at Borough Market are such a scam. The mushroom risotto is mid, but it’s still better than Bomba Paella. The worst choice you can make at Borough Market is to get fish and chips at Fish! Kitchen.
