As an Indian who has been in London for just a couple of years, gymkhana is actually much much better than what people who have not eaten there think. We went a few weeks ago and it was absolutely hilarious how much better the food was there than most Indian restaurants in Kolkata, Mumbai or bangalore (the places I have stayed in). They know their food very well. i went there to make fun of the two michelin stars and complain about the price, but was left speechless after the meal. The biriyani+pomegranate raita is more suited to my palette than 300-400 biriyanis I have had during my time in India.

I am a Bengali who lives in Delhi. I would like to clarify a few things. There is no such thing as indian cuisine in India as its really regional. Bengali food in Kolkata is great for those who love Bengali cuisine. But its different from Bangladeshi food as spices and the meats / fish are different. In Delhi , we eat fantastic Punjabi food and Mughlai food. Both are delicious. Delhi is a food lovers haven. Better than Mumbai or Bangalore. Bangladeshi and Pakistani food is also great, but since indian food sells more, they try to copy that and fail abysmally. They should proudly sell their own food.
Harrison you need to try out a cheap vs expensive Chinese like go to one in Chinatown first then maybe go to Hakkasan or hutong in the shard that will be an amazing idea❤

Best trick to find if its really Indian or not.. just say " jai shree raam" if they also say jai shree raam then its a 99.9 percent chance Indian.. and if you ask for pork and beef if they say beef isn't available but pork available.. then its 100% a Indian restuarant.. no Indian restuarant will provide you beef... and no bangladeshi or pakistani guy faking as Indian restuarant will provide you pork... its the best way find if the restaurant owner Indian or bangladeshi or pakistani
