Great video! I’ve been trying to decide between the 6400 and 6500 for real estate video. The 6500 only so I could use any brand lens with the built in stabilization. But I’m rethinking that.... your video showed me that there are better things with the 6400. I would be using a gimbal too so there is that. Anyway thanks!

I just pre-order the sony A6400. For all the flaw, there are work arounds. they fixed the major issue : the over heating, the recording limit, and improved the auto tracking. I'm sold.
What about the horrible rolling shutter? It's jello footage for vlogging man

EthanInGoa if you are telling a great story nobody is going to give a damn fuck about your rolling shutter. You think your mom or uncle would say: great video but the rolling shutter completely ruined it. Idk what you want to do with your camera but I guess its not a major issue and if it is you can always buy the gh5.

Hey Jason! What would you recommend for someone that needs OSS and would like something faster than f4? I think a 16-50 2.8 would be perfect focal length. I would rock the sigma 16-35 1.8 as well if it had stabilization. I like the 18-105 but it's not great in low light or super sharp for photo. I mostly shoot in the wider focal length

This is going to be my 6th Sony camera (5th DSLR - I also have the FS700 because of the slow motion). I agree with you about the 10-18mm lens. It is mind-blowing. I can't wait to get my 6400.

When you use a gimbal can you still use the bracket to have the microphone on the side?
What do you think of the Zeiss 16-70 for purposes of general videography? I want to get the lens as an all-purpose travel carry-around but I'm concerned about the lack of power zoom for purposes of video.
Thank you for such informative videos Jason! I got the a6400 just before a big trip I took a couple weeks ago. Broke the SELP1650 kit lens a few days into my trip so bought the SEL1670Z on the road. I'm an amateur photographer and hopeful future lifestyle vlogger once I get back to normal life here, so the new lens was a pretty large unexpected expense to add to my last minute decision to spring for the camera, but I'm looking at the lens filters you recommend and wondering if those are the best for everyday lifestyle vlogging or if you recommend another lens filter (kind of thinking mostly for protecting the lens more than anything)? TIA!

Great video! I bought the same microphone for my a6400 but I keep getting hissing noise in the background. I turned down the audio gain in the camera but still get quite a lot of hissing. What do you do to reduce this?

When I tested it on a Sony a6400 body with a Sony NEX-7's 18-55mm kit lens, the focal length I wanted was 30mm. The distance between the subject and the camera is 2m. In this case, with a sigma 30mm f1.4 lens or sony 35mm f1.8 lens, the crop body is about 50mm, so if I want to get the 30mm I want, should I look for a 20-24mm lens? Is there a lens you would like to recommend?

I love the a 6400. I upgraded from a6000 and I have to say I am soo SOOO HAPPY WITH THE 6400. Quality is spectacular. Has all the perks of 6000 + auto eye focus. Currently using the 30mm 1.4 sigma for potrait photography. at 1.4 my shots are incredible. I don't want or need a canon or nikon.

I have A6500 yet I have exactly what you recommend, 10-18/4; 16-70/4; 35/1.8 plus the 55-205mm. I travel light with 4 lenses. And your give away wrist strap by peak design is fantastic; I kept the neck one home. How about the Peak Design 5 lt sling bag, fantastic as well.

Hello Jason , i have preordered the sony a6400 however i'm still confused on choosing the lenses , i am a portrait photographer and focus on bokeh more but sometimes i also do landscape photography. Is it better for me to choose sigma 30mm / 56 mm or zeiss 16-70mm ? Thank you !!

Hi Jason, I have tons of Sandisk Extreme and Extreme Pro MicroSD cards with their SD adapters. Will these perform as well as the equivalent full size SD cards in the A6400? Or does the adapters pose some performance impacts? Thanks in advance.
Hey Jason, just ordered my A6400, still on the fence about getting a lens, I currently have an A7iii, 24-70 GM, 16-35 F4, 70-200 GM. What is your opinion on the 16-35 on APSC? I mainly shoot outdoor hiking, walk-bys, etc. Wondering if 16mm FF (24mm APSC) is too close on APSC for what I do. Great videos man, congrats on 100K btw!

I’m planning on moving to Japan this upcoming year and I want to start vlogging. I believe the Zeiss lens is best, since I want to take a lot of cinematic shots of all the places I visit, as well as vlogging about the history of the places I travel. The only issue is that the lens is very expensive for what I can afford right now, are there any alternatives to this lens that you would recommend?

Jason, FYI, I have checked with a few vendors including Sony. They have told me that the screen protector would not fit the a6400. They haven't had one that is made for the a6400 yet.

I bought the a6400 that came with the 18-135 lens. This is my first camera EVER and I have zero experience so your videos are great! I took this camera with us to Greece and soooo wished I would’ve watched these beforehand. Major learning curve for me but I’ll get there. What lens would you recommend for portrait pics? Looking to start a new blog with lifestyle/motherhood/fashion and recently bought the sigma 30mm F1.4 DC DN but haven’t removed it from the box. Is that a decent one? I used your links to fill my shopping cart :-) However, I haven't purchased yet as I have one reservation before buying the camera (and all of its accessories). I'm an Apple Final Cut Pro guy and would also like to be able to edit on my iPad using Luma Fusion. Could you briefly let me know what limitations I'll have (or hoops I'd have to jump through) in order to make the footage work? I know one of the formats it shoots in is mp4 but I don't know if there's a frame rate limitation or a drop in visual quality. I'd really appreciate it if you could answer these concerns for me. I'm getting the 6400, just returned my Lumix g7 and the money i was saving for lenses is going towards that... I have a lot of Canon lenses(with the sl2) so I decided instead of investing in lenses, i got a metabones V... Also thinking about the sigma 16mm(do everything on a tripod in the shop), since I have a few weeks til it comes out....

hello a question I can not change the codec H264 of my sony a6400 to a better codec. I put it in 4K 24p but I export it in MP4 and I want a better codec with better quality and I can not find how to change it in my camera?
