Clever lad - he actually speaks the intellectual language of art very well. As well as being a resourceful communicator he is a concise educator. To this he ads a cool and engaging performance. Mostly I appreciate that we don't have to sit through narcissistic self promotion.
Man I watched this twice, this has to be one of the best put it all out there tutorials for cinematography. Don't spend hours watching other 5-15m videos when you can just watch this one to get a jump start. I've been discouraged lately having played around with a couple go-pros to make videos and then investing $4k into a nice camera some glass and all the supporting equipment, only to find I'm not able to produce quality stuff with it due to lack of experience. This was a big booster.
Small caveat when using NTSC in a PAL country: the difference comes from old TV sets because we have 50Hz current. Not relevant anymore but...most of our lights (including LED) flicker at 50Hz or a multiple of it. So if you shoot 24fps (NTSC) with 50Hz-powered lights you light get a lot of banding/flickering. It disappears at 25fps (PAL). :)
I just loved your presentation! Implicit in what you say is that it is NOT the camera that makes the photograph or video---it is the artist him/herself! True story: a guy I know went to Mexico. He was at the beach and a couple were getting married---things had fallen apart with their photographer and they had no one. They only had a junky old camera---stripped down features (barely more than a point and shoot). This friend of mine proceeded to shoot black and whites of the couple and the wedding. They were stunning---some of the best wedding photos I've ever seen! This was a staggering lesson to me, that folks who obsess over equipment have completely missed the point---by now in 2022 we have ALL the equipment we will ever need to shoot extraordinary photos and videos. It is up to you and me to learn to be that great photographer or videographer. I love equipment videos, but I know in my heart that they are a poor substitute for taking the time to develop my artistic and tech skills. Thanks again for such a great video!
You are Tech Gear Talk are THE best TH-cam educators I've seen! Thanks so much, amazing stuff! 2 lessons in 1 here! How to shoot cinematic and how to get the best out of this particular camera. So SO good!
This just sold me on this camera. Everyone was pitching it for vlogging but I want to make independent short films and this was the best review but not really a review tutorial. Really good stuff in here.
You are my best friend right now and you don’t even know it. Thank you for helping me utilize my a6400. It is my first camera and I’m using it to shoot my flying adventures. I did a ton of research before buying what I believed to be the best camera for the money and it’s been overwhelming at best learning how to use it. Thank you for your no nonsense approach to your videos. I owe you! Now onto figuring out Premiere Pro. Lol

BTW you got a quite "relaxing" voice and presentation style. Makes it easy to watch and listen. I have to add that I also really like the visual style and coherence of this video.
